Halo 4 Campaign Weekly Challenges - 11/26/12

The Challenges:

Let's Get Mythical! - Complete any campaign mission on Heroic or Higher difficulty with the Mythic Skull. - 2000 XP
You have to wonder if they will end up going through all the skulls eventually or just the ones that make gameplay harder.  I can't wait for the Grunt Birthday Party Skull challenge.  Anyway, the Mythic Skull causes all enemies to have double health in the level.  This will be especially bothersome for enemies like Hunters or Watchers as they cannot be shot in the head for an easy kill.  As usual, the best mission for this challenge is "Dawn" as it is the shortest and easiest.  You can even skip some fights if you have a teammate, though this mission is still easy on Solo.  Your biggest problem on Dawn will be the Elites, but just take your time and go for headshots and all will be fine.

Alone in the Infinite - Complete Infinity Solo on Legendary Difficulty. - 4750 XP
So, Infinity is not necessarily the hardest mission in the game, but it is one of the longer ones and will require some patience.  Remember to conserve the more powerful ammunition (DMR, Light Rifle, etc.) for the harder enemies like Watchers and Knights.  Do not try to hard to protect your AI teammates as it can easily get you killed.  Hang back and let them do as much fighting as they can before they get wiped out.  However, once they are all dead, the enemies will all converge on you so be warned.  The later parts of this level in the Mantis need to be taken slowly and at distance so they do not destroy you too easily.  As I said before, be patient with this level, as later ones will be harder.

  1. To me, this was the hardest mission on Legendary. I would strongly advice against letting the marines go ahead as they will die quickly and the last defense part will be hell doing it solo versus the cake walk that it is by keeping them alive.
