Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 10/31/12 - Happy Halloween!

The Challenges:
Fire When Ready - Kill 30 enemies in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 2100cR
So, I'm going to call a "What the hell!" on today's challenges. It is Halloween and no special Living Dead based challenge? Really? Guess a machine really is picking these challenges now. Either way, thirty kills in multiplayer Matchmaking is s very easy mark to hit. You will be playing at least three games for the "Un, Deux, Trois" challenge, but likely a few more. On average, you should be getting twelve to fifteen kills a game so this challenge is somewhat of a freebie. Hit up Grifball if you need extra kills.

A Simple Spree - Earn any spree in Firefight Matchmaking. - 2000cR
Another really easy challenge for today, as it seems that they really want you to get the Weekly Challenge today. A spree in Firefight Matchmaking is ten kills uninterrupted by death and is extremely easy to get. You should, ideally, get this in your first ten kills of the game. Now, for the playlist, you should head for the Score Attack playlist as this is the easiest one to get kills in. 2X Score Attack and Gruntpocalypse are the fastest gametypes but if you just want to get your kills and be done, aim for the Crashsite gametype. In Crashsite, you can get the thirty kills you need and then die or let the generator explode the end the game.

Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 10/30/12

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any ideas or comments about the challenges? Post them down below!

The Challenges:
Shootin' and Lootin' - Kill 250 enemies in any game mode in Reach. - 3800cR
Well, a few challenges that will take some time and work and then two other challenges that will not really take much work. Fair trade-off, I guess. For this challenge you will need to score two-hundred and fifty kills in any game mode in Reach. Now, this challenge is likely taken care of for you by the "Flat Tire" and "L.D. Spear" challenges. Both have the possibility of getting you over two-hundred and fifty kills by themselves ("Flat Tire" will regardless of how you do). Like usual, this means not to worry about this challenge as it will take care of itself. Just move along, other challenges needs your attention.

Flat Tire - Kill 10 enemy vehicles in Firefight Matchmaking. - 2343cR
This challenge is probably one of the more annoying ones that you will face as vehicles can be hard to come by in Firefight Matchmaking. The trick is to have the right playlist and only you playing it. You will want to aim for the map Holdout which has static Banshee spawns that will spawn a banshee every two to four minutes. Making the game last as long as possible is key here. For the gametype, the preference is Sniper Attack, but Rocket and FRG Attack are also acceptable. In 2X Score Attack, the vehicle kills rarely count so avoid it. You can hit about two to five per game but expect about three, so this challenge will take about three to four games to complete.

Halo Reach Daily and Weekly Challenges Guide - 10/29/12

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any ideas or comments about the challenges? Post them down below!

The Challenges:
Light Fare - Kill 100 enemies in any game mode in Reach. - 3000cR
This is just your standard kill a hundred enemies in Reach challenge that we see multiple times a week, albeit with different amounts of kills required. Today, you simply need a hundred kills. Thankfully, this will be easily covered by the other daily challenges like "The Little Guys" and "Heroic Overwatch." Do the Firefight Matchmaking challenge first and this challenge will be done in a single game. Simply do not worry about this challenge, you have other ones that require your attention.

The Little Guys - Kill 200 Grunts in Campaign today on Normal or harder. - 2500cR
Grunts, Grunts, Grunts. Well, as you likely already know, Grunts are the easiest enemies for you to kills in Reach as you can simply headshot most of them. There are also a ton of Grunts on practically every level in Reach. Your best bet, however, is to start out with Winter Contingency and just work your way through hitting every Grunt possible. This might take through Nightfall or less. I would play on Heroic so AI teammates are less likely to steal your kills. Do not that if you at least damage and enemy and then an AI teammate scores the kill, you will be given credit so spam shots into a group of Grunts if you see them.

Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 10/28/12

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any ideas or comments about the challenges? Post them down below!

The Challenges:
Blastin' and Relaxin' - Kill 180 enemies in any game mode in Reach. - 2343cR
Well, a hundred and eighty challenges needed to complete today's challenges at least. Most likely, all the other challenges today will not get you to the required number of kills for this challenge as you will be off by a good hundred or so. The best option to get these kills done after completing all the other challenges is to play some games of Firefight Matchmaking, most likely in the Score Attack playlist. 2X Score Attack or Gruntpocalypse are the best gametypes for this challenge as they are the fastest and will both supply you with about a hundred and twenty kills. However, that may leave you a few kills short and a second game may be necessary.

Fourth Horseman - Earn 5 multikills in a multiplayer Matchmaking game. - 2500cR
So, how have you been doing on that Weekly Challenge? Probably done by now, to be honest, but, if not, it will work well today in conjunction with this challenge. A multikill is earned when you score multiple kills, each one being within four seconds of each other without dying during it. You can stack this up to nine multikills but that will be unnecessary for our purposes since we just need five. You are best off hitting the Grifball playlist as it is practically made for multikills. Should take a single game to complete as you can easily get ten or more multikills per game in this playlist.

Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 10/27/12

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any ideas or comments about the challenges? Post them down below!

The Challenges:
One Spartan Army - Kill 100 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking. - 2000cR
This is an easy enough challenge to complete as a hundred kills is extremely easy to obtain in Firefight Matchmaking. First off, this is the lone Firefight challenge today so there are no other stipulations on this challenge; you do not even have to do it in a single game. Gametype and playlist is entirely up to you, but if you hope to hit a hundred kills in a single game, you are best off sticking to the Score Attack playlist. All these gametypes, sparing Legendary Attack, will put you well over a hundred kills. Gruntpocalypse and 2X Score Attack are the preferred playlists as they are the fastest.

Explosive Ordnance Distribution - Earn 5 kills with ordnance weapons in a multiplayer Matchmaking game. - 1250cR
So, since the Action Sack playlist has been, well, sacked, we can no longer rely on its mainstay gametypes like Splockets and Dino Blasters to easily complete this challenge. It is unfortunate, but they need to make bandwidth for Halo 4. Now, ordnance weapons in Reach include the Rocket Launcher, Grenade Launcher, Concussion Rifle, and the Plasma Launcher. Your best bet now, is to go into the Invasion playlist. Either Invasion or Invasion slayer is fine as long as you are getting the weapon drops in Invasion slayer. The final phase for regular Invasion will always give you access to either the Grenade Launcher or the Concussion Rifle as well. This is doable in other playlists, but not very likely.

Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 10/26/12

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any ideas or comments about the challenges? Post them down below!

The Challenges:
More than a Handful - Kill 125 enemies in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 2500cR
Well, as usual, back to multiplayer Matchmaking today as yesterday was all Firefight Matchmaking. A hundred and twenty-five enemies is a decent handful, but with the other challenge, you can probably spend most of the day in Grifball and get the kills pretty easily. Typically, you should be getting about twelve to fifteen kills per games in a multiplayer Matchmaking game but Grifball will allow you to get thirty to forty kills per game. Try to stick to what you enjoy best and this will be done in no time.

No 'I" in Team - Earn 8 assists in a multiplayer Matchmaking game. - 2000cR
An assist is earned when you deal forty percent damage to an enemies health and then someone else takes the kill before that health is regained. Typically, you would say that the person stole you kill, but we want that to happen today so you will be rewarded an assist. Now, you need to score eight assists in a single game, which is no easy task. Likely, your best option is to play in the Multi Team playlist. Due to the high number of enemies, and the also high number of people who can steal a kill from you, this playlist is your best chance. You need to specifically try for assists, though. This means once you already have someone near death, simply stop fighting them and allow someone else to score the kill. This also means that you should stick near the center of the map instead of some random corner. Might take a few extra games to complete.

Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 10/25/12

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any ideas or comments about the challenges? Post them down below!

The Challenges:
Covenant-cide - Kill 120 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking. - 3200cR
This is pretty much a joke of a challenge. I'm not exactly sure why this is here and what the point is since it is completely overshadowed by the "More Like In Post" challenges. This challenge is asking you to score a hundred and twenty kills, which you can get in a standard game of Score Attack, while the "More Like In Post" challenge wants you to get a thousand kills on a particular map. One seem superfluous, doesn't it? Guess this is a consolation prize for anyone who simply cannot get a thousand kills today.

Be Their Huckleberry - Kill 100 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking with the pistol. - 2500cR
This Magnum Pistol, as long as you have the correct enemies in the correct playlist, if definitely a manageable weapon and getting a hundred kills is not at all a problem. The pistol is a headshot capable weapon which means that Grunts are the easiest targets for you. Your preferred playlist should be Score Attack then and the preferred gametype is Gruntpocalypse which is all Grunts, all the time. All of them can be killed via the headshot but remember that ammunition is not unlimited, so remember where the ammo crates are. Might also be a good idea to do this on outpost.

Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 10/24/12

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any ideas or comments about the challenges? Post them down below!

The Challenges:
Gunslinger - Kill 150 enemies in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 5500cR
So, a hundred and fifty enemy kills in multiplayer Matchmaking. Well, the Weekly Challenge will have you scoring about thirty multikills today, which means about eighty or so kills, most likely. You might as well just keep working on the Weekly Challenge today until you hit the a hundred and fifty kills required for this challenge. Grifball is the fastest way to get kills anyway, so you are really killing two birds with one stone. This should not take two many games to complete, and you will get the "Three Dog Fight" challenge done as well so really no issue here, just play and have fun.

Scoped - Kill 100 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking with precision weapons. - 2000cR
This is an easy enough challenge as precision weapons are pretty common in Firefight, especially in certain gametypes. First off, precision weapons in Reach include the DMR, the Sniper Rifle, the Needle Rifle, and the Covenant Focus Rifle. Now, it is easy enough to get a DMR by just going into the Score Attack playlist and choosing 2X Score Attack or Gruntpocalypse. Both gametypes will give you a DMR and cut you loose. Now, both gametypes also let you get about a hundred and twenty kills per game so there should be no issue with hitting a hundred kills with a precision weapons for this challenge, just only use the DMR. Should be done in a single game.

Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 10/23/12

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any ideas or comments about the challenges? Post them down below!

The Challenges:
Shootin' and Lootin' - Kill 400 enemies in any game mode in Reach. - 4000cR
Well, four-hundred enemies today will actually most likely be something for you to grind out once you have finished everything else. There is a chance that the other challenges will get you to four-hundred kills, but it depends on how you do with "Five-time Champ" and how many games that takes you. You should be pretty close, but play a few extra games in multiplayer or Firefight Matchmaking to hit four-hundred. Hopefully, this will end up taking care of itself, however.

Flat Tire - Kill 5 enemy vehicles in Firefight Matchmaking. - 2000cR
This is probably one of the most annoying challenges to be put in Reach since they revamped enemy spawning and vehicles are much less common now. What you will need to aim for is the gametypes Sniper Attack on the map Holdout in the Score Attack playlist. If you cannot get Sniper Attack, go for Rocket or FRG Attack. Now, Holdout has static Banshee spawns that will spawn a single Banshee every two and a half to four minutes. You need to make the game last as long as possible, kite around the last enemy if you must, to get all the spawns you can. Expect this to take two games to complete, though you can luck out and get it done in one.

Halo Reach Daily and Weekly Challenges Guide - 10/22/12

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any ideas or comments about the challenges? Post them down below!

The Challenges:
Blastin' and Relaxin' - Kill 180 enemies in any game mode in Reach. - 2343cR
So, a hundred and eighty enemy kill are needed today to satisfy these challenge. With the challenges we have to work with, that is probably not going to happen unless you go all out and try to finish off the Weekly Challenge today. The "Put Your Quarter Up" challenge has you completing twelve games today which means that you can hit about a hundred and eighty kills right on the nose, but only if you have good games all twelve games. We are all human so that is unlikely to happen. Try to aim for some gametypes like Grifball or Multi Team were you can really rack up the kills or just play one extra game.

Sticky Icky Icky - Earn 5 sticky grenade Kills in a multiplayer Matchmaking game. - 2400cR
Sticky grenades (aka Plasma Grenades) are one of the more interesting weapons in the Halo sandbox and we have had them since Halo CE. Even though we have had them all that time, I still suck with them so, hopefully, you are better than me. You need to get five stick kills with these in a single game. That means that you stick someone and then the grenade explodes and kills them. It does not count if people are the player die from the explosion, it is only counting the player you stuck. The best playlist that I know of for this challenge is Multi Team since you can get the Elite Slayer gametype where you always spawn with a single Plasma Grenade. In Multi Team you have a bunch of targets so I would try specifically for those. Now, Slayer Pro in the MLG playlist is also an option, but you do not have as many targets. Remember, you need five in a single game.

Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 10/21/12

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any ideas or comments about the challenges? Post them down below!

The Challenges:

Light Fare - Kill 100 enemies in any game mode in Reach. - 3000cR
Well, you will be venturing into all the various game modes today for these challenges, which is typical for the weekends. As is also usual for any day that has you completing a Firefight Matchmaking challenge, you will not need to worry about hitting a hundred kills in Reach. The "J.H. Death Machine" challenge, combined with "Return of the Mack" will have you scoring hundreds of kills. Since the kills for this challenge can be combined from any game mode in Reach, I would say that the hundred kills are more than covered. No need to fret, simply move along.

Return of the Mack - Kill 50 Elites in Campaign today on Normal or harder. - 1700cR
Elites are the hardest enemies that you will face in campaign and, generally, in Halo sparing other human opponents. However, as long as you have the right circumstances, and weapons, they become much easiest to kill. Now, getting fifty Elites kills in Campaign is actually not too challenging but it may require you to play through multiple levels. I would start off with ONI: Swordbase and work up from there. You can do this on Normal, but I would do Heroic as AI Teammates will be less likely to steal your kills. As a note, if you damage an enemy and then an AI Teammate kills, you will get credits for the kills so do not worry too much about that. You may have to play into Nightfall to hit fifty Elite kills though.

Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 10/20/12

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any ideas or comments about the challenges? Post them down below!

The Challenges:

Covenant-cide - Kill 120 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking. - 3200cR
So, Firefight and multiplayer Matchmaking are the key modes today and these challenges will have you playing in both. Firefight will not actually take too much time and the challenges can be completed in a single game. This one is asking you to score a hundred and twenty kills today but a hundred and twenty kills is about what you will hit in a single game in the Score Attack playlists. You might end up just short, but hopefully a drop pod will take care of this for you. The preferred gametypes are 2X Score Attack and Gruntpocalypse as they are the fastest and allow you to score the easiest kills.

A Great Friend - Earn 30 assists today in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 3250cR
Oh, assists. This is one of the more aggravating challenges because you basically have to fail at killing your opponents, but you do need to damage them. Dealing an opponent forty percent damage and then having someone else take the kill will net you an assist. Now, the best gametype for assists, without a doubt, is the Multi Team gametype since you have a bunch of targets and a bunch of people to steal those targets from you. Do not expect to get thirty in a single game, but five to ten is not uncommon; it just depends on how hard you try for the assists. Expect this to take three to six games to accomplish.

Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 10/19/12

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any ideas or comments about the challenges? Post them down below!

The Challenges:

More than a Handful - Kill 125 enemies in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 2500cR
So, you've got a lot enemies to kills today in multiplayer Matchmaking but this should not be too surprising as it is Friday, and multiplayer Matchmaking is the name of the game. Now, the other challenges will not get this one done for you, though they may make a small dent depending on your luck in completing "A Solid Outing." Regardless you will be playing some extra games for this one. Now, Grifball and Multi Team are two of the better playlists for getting kills but you may also want to try your luck with Invasion and Big Team Battle if you are having trouble. Expect this to take about ten games to complete.

T-Hug It Out - Kill 6 enemies with close quarters combat in a multiplayer Matchmaking game. - 2400cR
So, close quarter combat in Reach includes kills with the Shotgun, Gravity Hammer, Energy Sword, Melee, and Assassination. You can get all but one of those in the vaunted Grifball playlist. Six kills in a single game should be very, very easy to obtain, to be honest, and you will hardly need to give this challenge a second thought. Multi Team is another playlist you can venture into to garner close quarters combat kills, as long as you are on a small map, but you are likely to get less kills overall which will waste time on the "More than a Handful" challenge. Choice is yours.

Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 10/18/12

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any ideas or comments about the challenges? Post them down below!

The Challenges:

Covenant-cide - Kill 120 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking. - 3200cR
So, time for Firefight Matchmaking challenge, as we would all normally expect on a Thursday, and the challenges today are pretty simplistic. First off, this challenge, asking you to score a hundred and twenty-kills over the day will be well taken care of. Basically, you will be scoring two-hundred kills for the "Scoped" challenge so you really have no need to worry about this challenge at all. Just ignore it and worry about the other challenges, though, they will not require much worrying.

Katanarama - Kill 5 enemies using the Energy Sword in Firefight Matchmaking. - 2500cR
There are two way you can go about completing this challenge but, thanks to the "Above the Law" challenge, one option is simply easier than the other. Now, since you need to complete a round without dying, you will most likely be in the standard Firefight playlist, which means you will be playing Arcadefight. Arcadefight has a loadout just for the sword but do not pick it when you first start out. Instead, do the "Above the Law" challenge first and then concentrate on getting your sword kill. You have an entire two rounds in which to get five sword kills and these do not even have to be done in a single game. The other option is to load up 2X Score Attack and get a sword at an Elite from the very end but the Arcadefight option is simply easier.

Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 10/17/12

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any ideas or comments about the challenges? Post them down below!

The Challenges:

Gunslinger - Kill 40 enemies in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 3500cR
You will need to go out of your way for this one today, but not by a whole lot. Only one other challenge, "You Want This, Don't You?" is asking for multiplayer Matchmaking kills today, and only fourteen in a game. For a large portion of players, those fourteen kills can be achieved in a single game but it will take two or three games for others. Regardless of how many kills you have left, just jump into multiplayer Matchmaking and have fun after completing "You Want This, Don't You?" and get the kills you need. For the record, Multi Team and Grifball are likely your best options to get kills really fast in multiplayer Matchmaking.

Supporting Role - Earn 20 assists in Firefight Matchmaking. - 2500cR
Well, you will need to play Firefight today for this challenge, but the catch is that you will need to play with teammates so you get assists. You are awarded an assist when you deal forty percent damage to an enemy that is then, quickly, killed by someone else. The trick is that you need to communicate with your teammates and let them know that you are going for assists. You can definitely get twenty in a single game but do not be afraid to spread it out to two games if needed. Since I am suggesting the standard Firefight Playlist, Arcadefight is likely a great playlist for this challenge but you will not see a lot of assists until the second round, which is when the Mythic Skull is turned on. Just try to communicate with the other players and you can easily get this done in a single game.

Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 10/16/12

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any ideas or comments about the challenges? Post them down below!

The Challenges:

Light Fare - Kill 100 enemies in any game mode in Reach. - 3000cR
So, you really just need to look below to see why I am not writing much for this challenge. It is taken care of, for sure, by the "Take a Dip" challenge which is asking you to score a thousand kills in Firefight Matchmaking. Getting that done will take care of this challenge, guaranteed as these kill can be gained in any mode of Halo Reach. Move on to a different challenge now.

Take a Dip - Kill 1000 enemies on Waterfront in Firefight Matchmaking. - 3000cR
Well, a thousand enemies is a lot to hit in a single day. You can get a hundred to a hundred and twenty kills per game, depending on the playlist and gametype, which means you will need to play nine to ten games to complete this challenge. It sucks that the map is Waterfront, but it is passable. Now, the playlist you choose is entirely up to you, but Score Attack is your best bet as you have complete control over the map chosen and you also get more kills. Gruntpocalypse and 2X Score Attack are the preferred gametypes and will get you a hundred and twenty kills per game. I would stay away from the Firefight playlist as you have little control over the map and gametype picked. Again, expect this to take nine to ten games to complete.

Halo Reach Daily and Weekly Challenges Guide - 10/15/12

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any ideas or comments about the challenges? Post them down below!

The Challenges:

One Spartan Army - Kill 100 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking. - 2000cR
So, the lone Firefight Matchmaking challenge today is just to get kills. Nothing really ground-breaking about this or unexpected, so do not expect any sort of surprise. Now, you can pretty much play whatever playlist and gametype you want for this one as any will really get it done. However, the easiest playlists are Score Attack with the Gruntpocalypse and 2X Score Attack gametypes and Firefight with the Arcadefight gametype. Either one will get this done, though Arcadefight may cut it a little close.

Cannon Fodder - Kill 100 infantry-class foes in the Campaign today. - 2250cR
The weird thing about these challenges, that I have noticed (and this very well may have changed with some recent update) but when they say infantry-class, they mean Grunts. Other Covenant races have infantry class troops, but I do not tend to see them count for these challenges. Regardless, work on this challenge while doing "Short, Controlled Bursts" by making sure you put shots into every Grunt you see and all other enemies. A hundred kills may take a while so do not be surprised if you are still working on this when advancing to the second mission, ONI: Swordbase.

Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 10/14/12

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any ideas or comments about the challenges? Post them down below!

The Challenges:

Shootin' and Lootin' - Kill 250 enemies in any game mode in Reach. - 3800cR
This actually seems like one of those challenges that you would need to go out of your way to earn but, thanks to the challenges today, this one should be taken care of, requiring no extra work by you. First off, "Put Your Quarter Up" is requiring you to complete ten games in the multiplayer Matchmaking playlist today and you should be hitting about fifteen or so kill per game. As well, if you have yet to complete the Weekly Challenge, you should be getting about a hundred and fifty kills today in multiplayer Matchmaking anyway. The "A Simple Spree" challenge has you completing a single game in the Firefight Matchmaking playlist, which will have you hitting a hundred to a hundred and twenty kills. Seems like these two-hundred and fifty kills are not going to be a problem.

Put Your Quarter Up - Complete 10 games in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 2900cR
This is really the big ticket challenge of the day or at least the one that will take up most of your time. Ten games is not a lot, especially since it is the weekend and you are not required to score wins, but this will take a good two hours or so to complete. Now, you need to stay in these games from start to finish. If you quit out, disconnect, or get kicked, the game will not count for challenges, stats, or credits. Quitting or disconnecting enough times can also have you looking at a temporary ban so you better be careful. The gametypes you want to play are entirely up to you but remember the "Single Wield" challenge down below.

Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 10/13/12

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any ideas or comments about the challenges? Post them down below!

The Challenges:

One Spartan Army - Kill 100 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking. - 2000cR
The other challenges today, and the Weekly Challenge, have you in multiplayer Matchmaking and running through a campaign mission but, alas, you will need to play one game of Firefight Matchmaking to sate this challenge. A hundred kills should be pretty easy to come by in a single game, regardless of what playlist you choose. Score Attack should have you hitting about a hundred and twenty kills whereas the regular Firefight playlist will likely have you right around a hundred kills. I would play it safe and just do Score Attack. 2X Score Attack and Gruntpocalypse are the easiest gametypes.

Light Fuse, Run Away - Kill 4 enemies with grenades in a multiplayer Matchmaking game. - 2100cR
Grenade kills can actually be somewhat hard to come by if you do not have the right playlist and gametype. These kills can be gained with Plasma and Fragmentation Grenades but you need four in a single game. Your best bet is likely the Multi Team playlist for a few reasons. First off, you will have a ton of targets to use your grenades on. Secondly, Multi Team matches tend to be on smaller maps, therefore making grenade kills even easier to obtain. Finally, if you can get an objective gametype, you can easily know where everyone is going and grenade them with relative ease. Expect this challenge to take a few game to complete but, hopefully, no more than three.

Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 10/12/12

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any ideas or comments about the challenges? Post them down below!

The Challenges:

Fire When Ready - Kill 30 enemies in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 2100cR
As per the usual, it is onto multiplayer Matchmaking today and today's overarching challenge is not really much of a challenge. You will need to score thirty kills today but, thankfully, this challenge is easily taken care of by the other daily challenge and the Weekly Challenge. "Close Talking" has you earning sixty kills, "Not as Clumsy or Random..." has you earning another five, and the Weekly Challenge will have you getting about a hundred and fifty or so kills unless you already completed the challenge. All in all, that adds up to way more than thirty kills. Move along then.

Not as Clumsy or Random... - Earn 5 kills with precision weapons in a multiplayer Matchmaking game. - 2000cR
As this is asking for precision weapons kills, you will likely need to do a separate game from the other challenge to complete it. Now, precision weapons in Reach include the DMR, the Sniper Rifle, the Needle Rifle, and the Covenant Beam Rifle. Most likely, your kills will be coming via the DMR and the Sniper due to the two most accessible game mode for precision weapons being Team Snipers and Team SWAT. Though I would say hit Snipers for the "Came From Behind" challenge, either playlist should be great for getting at least five kills, as you should be hitting about ten to fifteen kills per game in playlists like these. Expect this to take a single game to complete.

The Challenges:

One Spartan Army - Kill 100 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking. - 2000cR
This challenge should be no trouble at all today as it is completely covered by the other challenges. Typically, you will get about a hundred to a hundred and twenty kills in a game of Firefight Matchmaking and you will typically have to complete at least one game on Thursday as that is the designated Firefight Matchmaking challenges day. Today is not different but the challenges today, especially "That Pink Mist" will more than cover the spread on these a hundred kills being requested.

That Pink Mist - Kill 200 enemies with a Supercombine from the Needler or Needle Rifle in Firefight Matchmaking. - 3000cR
This challenge will not necessarily be hard, but it will take a damn long time to complete. Due to Firefight Doubles disappearing, this will be even more frustrating unless you can get three other friends to do it with you. Now, a Supercombine occurs when you stick enough needles into an enemy from a needle based weapon (Needler or the Needle Rifle) and they explode, killing the enemy. Typical Grunts on Heroic will see an explosion, but will actually die before the explosion so they do not count. First off, head to the standard Firefight playlist and you will want to aim for the Arcadefight gametype. In Arcadefight, there is a loadout that features the FRG (Fuel Rod Gun) and the Needler, so pick that one. You will not really start picking up the kills until the second round but get what you can in the first. If you have three other friends with you and all are using the Needler, this will work a lot better since your teammates will not be using Rockets and stuff to steal your kills. Expect this to take anywhere from three to eight games to complete.

The Challenges:

More than a Handful - Kill 25 enemies in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 2000cR
Well, you will be playing in all the major modes of Halo Reach today if you are planning on completing these challenges. For this challenge, however, asking for twenty-five kills scored in multiplayer Matchmaking, you will not complete it while working on the other daily challenges. "Sweep the Leg" will help some, but will likely not get it done. The Weekly Challenge  that is asking you to score a thousand kills this week will help, however. Get your normal amount of kills for today, which is either a hundred and fifty or more, and that should definitely take care of the twenty-five required here.

Hyper Lethal Vector - Kill 100 enemies with headshots in Firefight Matchmaking. - 3000cR
Scoring headshots in Firefight Matchmaking is, actually, exceedingly easy to do and really takes little effort. First you will need a headshot capable weapon, like the DMR, Pistol, Needler Rifle, or the Sniper, and the enemies that are super easy to headshot, like Grunts. Now, Gruntpocalypse in the Score Attack playlist sure looks like a winner for this challenge, doesn't it. In Gruntpocalypse you will score about a hundred and twenty kills per game and you can make almost all of those headshots as the game will be all Grunts. One game, and this challenge will be done, along with all your Firefight based challenges for today. Definitely more tomorrow, though.

The Challenges:

Blastin' and Relaxin' - Kill 180 enemies in any game mode in Reach. - 2343cR
This challenge should be taken care of by all the other challenges today, including the Weekly Challenge. A hundred and eighty kills is not a lot to begin with but her is the detailed coverage. "On the Sixth Respawn..." will get you about a hundred and twenty kills for the one game you will play for it. "If It Bleeds..." will earn you a very minor number of kills, maybe five to ten. Now, working on "Oops! All Kills" and the Weekly Challenge will earn you another hundred and fifty kills. That puts you at over two-hundred kills for the day, well outdoing the hundred and eighty kills needed for this challenge.

On the Sixth Respawn... - Complete a Firefight Matchmaking game with fewer than 5 deaths. - 2000cR
They really need to lock down these credit values so they make some sort of sense, as you will see below. Apparently, this challenge is worth more credits than no dying for six rounds, which definitely makes sense. For all wondering, that last sentence was sarcastic. Now, there is no special strategy for this challenge since most players get through Firefight dying less than five times. Gruntpocalypse and 2X Score Attack in the Score Attack playlist are you best bet for this challenge. Just go out, slay the enemies, and then let the game finish. These are really easy credits.

Halo Reach Daily and Weekly Challenges Guide - 10/8/12

The Challenges:

One Spartan Army - Kill 250 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking. - 3500cR
Well, sparing this lone Firefight Matchmaking challenge, it is all multiplayer Matchmaking today, including the Weekly Challenge. This firefight challenge is pretty simple, just score kills, but the number of games you need to play is just off what you would expect. A typical game in the Score Attack playlist gives you a hundred and twenty kills, playing Gruntpocalypse or 2X Score Attack. Double that and you are at two hundred and forty kills, which is just ten kills short of our goal. That means a third game will need to be played, preferably Crashsite, to finish off the remaining kills. Crashsite is useful because once you have the kills you need, you can die or let the generator explode to end the game legitimately.

T-Hug It Out - Kill 7 enemies with close quarters combat in a multiplayer Matchmaking game. - 2400cR
Close quarters combat kills are kills made with the Shotgun, Gravity Hammer, Energy Sword, Assassination, or Melee. Getting seven kills in a single game via close quarters combat can be challenging unless you know the right gametype. That gametype, for this challenge, is Grifball where every single kill you can get, sparing the Grifball exploding, is a close quarters combat kill. Seven kills is easy as hell in Grifball and should be taken care of in the first round of the game. As well, you will likely be playing this gametype for the Weekly Challenge to simply rack up kills so this is more like a freebie. Get to hammerin'.

The Challenges:
Light Fare - Kill 100 enemies in any game mode in Reach. - 3000cR
No need to worry about this challenge today, as is the usual. These a hundred kills can be gained in any game mode in Reach but most of them will be gained in the Firefight Matchmaking mode for us. The "Survivor" challenge has you going for seven sprees in a single Firefight Matchmaking game. The suggested playlist for that is the Score Attack playlist and a single game there will have you achieving about a hundred and twenty kills. You are well over a hundred then, but if you manage to fall short somehow, then you still have the kills from "Multiplier" and "Throwing Fireballs" to help you make up the difference.

Multiplier - Earn 5 multikills in a multiplayer Matchmaking game. - 2500cR
Mildly related question, you finish up the Weekly Challenge yet, the one that was asking for two-hundred multi kills over this week? Hopefully, most of you have that finished off by now, though spending a crap-load of games in Grifball will get it done for you, as well as complete this challenge which is simply asking for five multi kills in a single game. Now, a multi kill is when you score multiple kills within four seconds of each other. If the Weekly Challenge is already taken care of for you, play an extra game of Grifball or see if you can get it taken care of during "Throwing Fireballs."
