Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 10/10/12

The Challenges:
More than a Handful - Kill 25 enemies in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 2000cR
Well, you will be playing in all the major modes of Halo Reach today if you are planning on completing these challenges. For this challenge, however, asking for twenty-five kills scored in multiplayer Matchmaking, you will not complete it while working on the other daily challenges. "Sweep the Leg" will help some, but will likely not get it done. The Weekly Challenge  that is asking you to score a thousand kills this week will help, however. Get your normal amount of kills for today, which is either a hundred and fifty or more, and that should definitely take care of the twenty-five required here.

Hyper Lethal Vector - Kill 100 enemies with headshots in Firefight Matchmaking. - 3000cR
Scoring headshots in Firefight Matchmaking is, actually, exceedingly easy to do and really takes little effort. First you will need a headshot capable weapon, like the DMR, Pistol, Needler Rifle, or the Sniper, and the enemies that are super easy to headshot, like Grunts. Now, Gruntpocalypse in the Score Attack playlist sure looks like a winner for this challenge, doesn't it. In Gruntpocalypse you will score about a hundred and twenty kills per game and you can make almost all of those headshots as the game will be all Grunts. One game, and this challenge will be done, along with all your Firefight based challenges for today. Definitely more tomorrow, though.

Short, Controlled Bursts - Kill 100 enemies with automatic weapons in the Campaign today. - 2500cR
Oh, hurray. Automatic weapons. Doesn't everyone just love using these.../sarcasm. Now, automatic weapons in Reach include the AR, Needler, Plasma Rifle, Plasma Repeater, and the Brute Spiker and are typically pretty common in campaign, sparing the Brute Spiker. I would simply start with Winter Contingency and only use automatic weapons as you work through the level. Remember that you just need to damage an enemy with an automatic weapon and then another AI teammate can score the kill. It will still count as an automatic weapon kill for you. Also note that that does not work with actually human teammates. You will likely need to play through ONI: Swordbase to complete this one, but it should not take too long.

Sweep the Leg - Perform an Assassination in a multiplayer Matchmaking game. - 2000cR
For me, Assassinations have never been particularly tricky, though they seem to be for some people. You only need to score a single one (the whole "in a multiplayer Matchmaking game" is kind of unnecessary though, as it would have to be in a game regardless) and you do so by holding the melee button while facing an enemies back. Team Snipers is always a great playlist to do this in as long as you are on a small map. Player lose focus in this playlist and are easily flanked. Now, Assassination on inclines or in the air will happen much faster so, if you are getting "Showstopped" a lot, aim for people on inclines. Remember, just one and you are done with this one.
