Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 7/4/12 - Independce Day!

The Challenges:
Gunslinger - Kill 75 enemies in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 2250cR
Like earlier in the week, you will be playing in all the various modes today if you hope to complete all of the challenges. Due to the number of games you will be playing for the "Home Field Advantage" challenge and the Weekly Challenge, getting seventy-five kills is quite well taken care of. You just need to average about eight kills per game and that is assuming you win all those games to hit eleven for the day.  All other challenges are in Firefight Matchmaking or campaign, so start early on these kills and wins.

Roast 'em, Toast 'em - Kill 35 enemies while jet-packing in Exodus on Normal. - 3000cR
They really do over use this one, especially since it is one of the more annoying challenges. Thirty-five kills is not normally a lot, but it is while jet-packing. Now, the trick to scoring kills while jet-packing is that you need to actually be using the armor ability when the kills is scored. It doesn't matter what you were doing when the grenade was thrown, but what you are doing when it explodes. Falling or just being in the air does not count as a kill while jet-packing either. Load up Exodus from Rally Point Alpha and you should be all set.

Hyper Lethal Vector - Kill 150 enemies with headshots in Firefight Matchmaking. - 2125cR
This is, by my estimation, the easiest challenge of the day. Getting headshots in Firefight Matchmaking is probably the one thing that everyone who plays Halo has done literally thousands of times. I know I have. Now, Gruntpocalypse is your best bet for this challenge and you will likely need two games to complete. You can also try Firefight Doubles or regular Firefight, but there is no guarantee of having so many enemies which are so easy to headshot, hence why Gruntpocalypse is the best bet.

Home Field Advantage - Win 8 games in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 4400cR
Well, this falls right in with the Weekly Challenge. Allow me to quote; First off, stick to gametypes with only two teams. Multiple teams and free-for-alls tend to lower the odds of you being on the winning team. Secondly, stick to gametypes with no more than ten players. Larger gametypes like BTB or Invasion have large numbers of players and the result is way less dependent on you and your skill. Thirdly, try to stick to gametypes you know and love as you will likely do better in them. Finally, take breaks every so often. Sitting down and just playing for a large portion of the day can be really bad for you, so get up, move around, and drink lots of water.

  1. The Challenge to get headshots on Firefight. It says in Matchmaking, which would mean in a multiplayer firefight game correct? I didn't think that included single player as well.

    1. Ah, by "regular Firefight" I meant the standard Firefight Matchmaking playlist, not custom Firefight games. I'll be more clear next time.
