Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 6/30/12

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any ideas or comments about the challenges? Post them down below!

My power at home went out last night and is still out, so let's all thank my friend Kenny for letting me hang out and use his electricity.

The Challenges:
Blastin’ and Relaxin’ – Kill 180 enemies in any game mode in Reach. – 2343cR
Unlike the last few days, after you complete the other Daily Challenges, you will need to go out of your way to complete this one. Though a hundred and eighty kills is not too large of a mountain to overcome, you will likely need to jump into campaign or Firefight to get it done. My recommendation is to hit up some games of Firefight Matchmaking like Gruntpocalypse in the Score Attack playlist along with some Custom Challenges. That can give you some very, very good credit outputs over three hours. Just remember to turn in the challenges once you are done.

Explosive Ordnance Distribution – Earn 3 kills with ordnance weapons in a multiplayer Matchmaking game. – 2000cR
So, this challenge brings about a rare occasion and one that I am not full comfortable with but, with great hesitation, I will direct you to the Action Sack playlist. Specifically, you will be looking for the gametypes which focus on explosive ordnance weapons. This means that you will want to aim for gametypes like Splockets and Dino Blasters. Splockets will give you the Spartan Laser and Rockets while Dino Blasters will give you the Concussion Rifle. Personally, Splockets is likely less annoying as it does not have unlimited ammunition without reload and unlimited armor abilities. This should take a single game to complete.

Sweep the Leg – Perform an Assassination in a multiplayer Matchmaking game. – 2000cR
I’m not going to write a lot for this challenge as an assassination is something that you should be able to do pretty often in Matchmaking by just playing games. Just go up behind a player and hold the melee button to trigger an assassination. If you are really desperate for an assassination, I would recommend going to the Team Snipers playlist as people in that playlist are always more prone to getting assassinated since they lose focus.

Need Some Ammo – Complete a Campaign mission on Heroic or harder with the Famine Skull on. – 2500cR
For those who are unaware, the Famine Skill will make all weapons which you pick up off the ground have half as much ammunition. As per the norm, speed-running through Nightfall is the easiest option to complete this challenge. Just set the difficulty to at least Heroic and run through the level following this guide. You can also run through Winter Contingency but Nightfall is by far the easiest. Good luck on your speed-run of whatever level you choose.

Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 6/29/12

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any ideas or comments about the challenges? Post them down below!

The Challenges:
Gunslinger - Kill 40 enemies in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 3500cR
So, today's challenges are actually on the simple, non-time-sucking side today. In fact, you can have all these challenges done in about two or three games if you really try. Getting the forty kills is the only reason that this might take three games, otherwise you could get it done in two. The "T-Hug It Out" challenge will likely get you about a fair number of kills, around twenty-five to thirty, since you will be doing it in conjunction with the "Fourth Horseman" challenge. Working on "Neuroscience" is likely to give you the final kills to polish off this challenge. If you are still short some kills, play whatever you wish to finish the challenge.

T-Hug It Out - Kill 7 enemies with close quarters combat in a multiplayer Matchmaking game. - 2400cR
As a refresher, close quarters combat kills are kills made by the Shotgun, Energy Sword, Gravity Hammer, Melee, or Assassination. Seven in a match is not overly difficult but, like usual, it all depends on what playlist you are in. Your best bet will be Grifball, if you had not already guessed as it allows you to use all of these techniques for close quarters combat kills except for the Shotgun and, in fact, they are the only weapons you can use. Seven kills is kids play for Grifball and expect to hit somewhere near twenty or thirty kills.

Neuroscience - Kill 10 enemies with headshots in a multiplayer Matchmaking game. - 2400cR
Team SWAT or Team Snipers will, as always, be your best place to score headshots in multiplayer Matchmaking as both gametypes start you with a headshots capable (two, if you include the Magnum Pistol). Ten kills should take a single game to complete as every player in these games should be one-shot, head-shot kills. If you are having trouble hitting ten kills, aim for the rare-objective based gametypes which pop-up (though not so rare after the last playlist update) in matchmaking. Those should allow you to score some extra kills while everyone else is going for the objective.

Fourth Horseman - Earn 4 multikills in a multiplayer Matchmaking game. - 3500cR
Multikills are actually insanely easy to get in Matchmaking if you know the right playlist. Firstly, as you probably well know, a multikill is when you score multiple kills within four seconds of each other. This can be done up to ten kills which would give you a Killionaire. The lowest you can get is a Double Kill. Look at it like this, if you are rewarded a multikill medal, it counts towards the challenge. Four in a game would be pretty simplistic to get in most playlists but since we are working on the "T-Hug It Out" challenge, might as well do it in Grifball.

Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 6/28/12

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any ideas or comments about the challenges? Post them down below!

The Challenges:
Blastin' and Relaxin' - Kill 180 enemies in any game mode in Reach. - 2343cR
Like yesterday, this is a challenge that you do not need to worry about thanks to the other Daily Challenges. It is not "A Simple Spree" or "Demon" that will get it done, but "Hyper Lethal Vector," asking you to get two hundred headshots in Firefight Matchmaking, that will finish off this challenge for you. That is all there is. Even if you weren't going for "Hyper Lethal Vector," Firefight would still be your best option for completing this challenge as fast as possible. Pretty easy challenges today, but that means tomorrow's will likely be difficult. Relax while you can.

A Simple Spree - Earn any spree in Firefight Matchmaking. - 2000cR
So, most of you are probably used to a spree in multiplayer Matchmaking which is slightly different from a Firefight Matchmaking spree. In Matchmaking you need five kills uninterrupted by death or the end of a round to score a spree. In Firefight Matchmaking, you just need ten kills but they can be between rounds since those are done differently in Firefight. There really is no big trick for this challenge and it should not take you any serious amount of time at all. Should be done in the first ten kills of your first game.

Hyper Lethal Vector - Kill 200 enemies with headshots in Firefight Matchmaking. - 3000cR
Due to the "Demon" challenge, I am urging you to complete two games of 2X Score Attack. Headshot are definitely attainable in this gametype, but one miss will likely kill your opponent and leave you with one less likely headshot. Use the DMR only (This means you will need to go get ammunition eventually) and the headshots should come naturally. Jackals will likely prove to be a pain and cause you to get non-headshot kills. If, after two games you have yet to complete this challenge, load up a single game of Gruntpocalypse and you should be all set.

Demon - Kill 30 Elites in Firefight Matchmaking. - 2400cR
Due to you needing to slay thirty Elites today in Firefight Matchmaking, I am suggesting that you play two games of 2X Score Attack in the Score Attack playlist. The final wave of every 2X Score Attack game, you will face about twenty Elites. Due to the double damage, they are actually very easy to kill. As well, remember to stick to the DMR for the "Hyper Lethal Vector" challenge. Most of this will get done in your first game, but run a second game of 2X Score Attack just to be safe.

Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 6/27/12

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any ideas or comments about the challenges? Post them down below!

The Challenges:
Fire When Ready - Kill 30 enemies in multiplayer Matchmaking - 2100cR
Well, no real reason to worry about this challenge today, asking you to score thirty kills in Multiplayer matchmaking, thanks to the "Now I have a Machine Gun" challenge which has you getting a hundred automatic weapon kill in Multiplayer matchmaking. This challenge should be done a few game into your quest for a hundred automatic weapon kill, so do no fret over it at all, just move one because there is a lot more pressing challenges for you to worry about today.

L.D. Exodus - Complete Exodus, without dying, on Legendary with Mythic, Thunderstorm, Tilt, and Tough Luck on. - 5343cR
So, like all these "without dying" challenges, they actually are not that hard as you can die all you want. What you need to be concerned of here are the Skulls making life more difficult than it needs to be. Now the Mythic skull will double the health of every enemy, while the Thunderstorm will upgrade every enemy, Tilt modifies the damage tables away from your favor, and Tough Luck has enemies dodging more. If you want, follow the LASO guide which has shortcuts and other tricks that allow you to skip large portions of the level and just overall strategy. Remember again that you can die as much as you want, but before hitting the switch, which is the final objective, Save and Quit, and then Resume Campaign. From there, complete it without dying and the credits are yours.

A Satisfied Thirst - Kill 100 Grunts in Firefight Matchmaking. - 2500cR
Well, there is really no surprise on this challenge but Gruntpocalypse is, by far, your best option to get it completed in a single game. Grunts are, by far, the easiest enemies you will face in Halo on any difficulty except maybe the Engineer but that is not a combat Covenant. Now Gruntpocalypse is in the Score Attack playlist and features only Grunts. In fact, you will get to face about a hundred and twenty of them which means that a hundred Grunt kills isn't even a concern as long as you finish the game.

Now I have a Machine Gun - Earn 100 kills with automatic weapons in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 4500cR
Ugh. So automatic weapons are arms where you pull the Trigger once and the weapons keeps firing and, in Reach, these include the AR, the Needler, the Plasma Rifle, the Plasma Repeater, and the Brute Spiker. Well, this challenge will be all about being on the right gametype and playlist. Your best chance to score a bunch of automatic weapon kills in Multiplayer Matchmaking will be to play Multi Team as you almost always start with an AR, unless you picked Elite Slayer which would let you start with the Needler or Plasma Repeater. Have no doubt that a hundred kills might take a while. I would try to aim for at least ten a game so this challenge will only take ten games at the most.

Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 6/26/12

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any ideas or comments about the challenges? Post them down below!

The Challenges:
Light Fare - Kill 100 enemies in any game mode in Reach. - 3000cR
Well, contrary to this challenge yesterday, a hundred kills will be easily accomplished in Reach today thanks to the other Daily Challenge. "This is My Rifle" has you getting thirty kills in multiplayer Matchmaking, sixty kills in campaign for the "A Side of Heuvos" challenge, and finally fifty Elite kills in Firefight Matchmaking for the "Demon" challenge. And let's not forget that the Demon challenge will likely require three games of 2X Score Attack which actually means about three-hundred and sixty kills. Challenge complete.

Demon - Kill 50 Elites in Firefight Matchmaking. - 3000cR
So, as stated above, you will need to play in the Score Attack playlist but, more importantly, you need to aim for the 2X Score Attack gametype about three times to get these fifty Elite kills. Now, in a typical game of 2X Score Attack, the final wave will be about twenty Elites that are extremely easy to kill with a DMR and AR, which you always start the game with. Now, twenty kills per game means that this will take you three games to complete unless you get extremely lucky and get two drop-pods of Elites in both game. That might bring you right to fifty since you might face twenty or more Elites. However, the chances of that are low. As well, remember that smaller maps will go faster.

A Side of Heuvos - Kill 60 enemies with Sniper Rifle headshots in Nightfall on Normal. - 2500cR
So, Nightfall is the third level of Reach and the only one that really features the Sniper prominently (similar to Truth and Reconciliation in Halo: CE). You will need to score sixty headshots with the Sniper on at least Normal and you will know it is a headshot when the Sniper kill medal pops up (note: play with scoring on). You will actually be hard pressed to score sixty headshot in a single playthrough so either abuse the checkpoints by reloading into large enemy areas or do multiple playthroughs. The first major area you get to filled with enemies is actually a great spot.

This is My Rifle - Earn 30 kills with precision weapons in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 2500cR
There has really been a focus on precision weapons lately and this challenge, along with "A Side of Heuvos" continues the theme. Now, as you should know by now, precision weapons kills are best earned in Team SWAT and Team Snipers which will give you the DMR and the Sniper respectively. It simply depends on what weapon you are more comfortable with. Personally, I would take the DMR in SWAT (way too much camping in the Snipers playlist). You should be hitting about twelve to fifteen kills per game so expect this challenge to take two to three games to complete.

Halo Reach Daily and Weekly Challenges Guide - 6/25/12

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any ideas or comments about the challenges? Post them down below!

The Challenges:
Blastin' and Relaxin' - Kill 180 enemies in any game mode in Reach. - 2343cR
For weeks we had the challenges like this one always taken care of by the other Daily Challenges but it seems as though the norm is trending the other way now and we will need to start going out of our way to complete this challenge. Now, we can get work done on the Weekly Challenge, however, and that will be best done by jumping into Grifball (which you might be in anyway) and just racking up the kills. The alternative is to jump into a game of Firefight and finish it off much quicker, but that will not help with the Weekly Challenge.

Headshot Honcho - Kill 11 enemies with headshots in a multiplayer Matchmaking game. - 2640cR
You will need to specifically play a headshot-focused game to get this challenge and hopefully it will only take you one game to complete. Team SWAT and Team Snipers are your best options for this challenge as both are headshot centric and allow for one-shot, headshot kills. Team SWAT has you with the DMR and no shields while Team Snipers obviously has you with the Sniper. Eleven kills is around what you should be hitting on average in a single multiplayer Matchmaking game, but plan for this to take two games.

Go Right Ahead Folks - Earn a First Strike in a multiplayer Matchmaking game. - 2000cR
To score a First Strike medal in Halo Reach, you need to score the first kill in any round of a multiplayer Matchmaking game. Objective games, like Invasion or 1-Flag CTF, and Living Dead are great for this since they multiple rounds. With Slayer gametypes, you only have a single chance every game to get a First Strike. Grifball is also a possibility as you have five rounds possible in every game, though it can be as low as three. This should only take a few games to complete.

Oops! All Kills - Earn 5 Multikills in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 2000cR
Well, this is kind of pointless today considering the Weekly challenge, but it really is just free credits and you may very well have this done before you even start on the Weekly challenge due to the "Go Right Ahead Folks" and the "Headshot Honcho" challenges. These multikills do not need to be in a single game and can any combination of five multikills that is actually achievable. If you do not get this while working on the other Daily challenges, you will get it while working on the Weekly challenge, so fret not.

The Weekly Challenge:
Multiplicative - Earn 200 Multikills in multiplayer Matchmaking this week. - 25000cR

Well, two hundred is a very large number of multikills but, if you know the various playlists, this is very, very easy to accomplish. Now, a multikill is achieved whenever you kill multiple opponents within four seconds of each other, which can be stacked up to ten kills (which is nine multikills). First off, dividing this up over seven days means you need about thirty multikills a day though you can easily earn more and get this done early. In terms of the playlist for this challenge, Grifball is your best friend for this challenge and will be for the rest of the week. If the teams are even and balanced, you can really rack up the kills and multikills. If the teams are not balanced, well, it become kind of shitty, but just bear through it and get what multikills you can. Remember, at least thirty a day.

Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 6/24/12

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any ideas or comments about the challenges? Post them down below!

The Challenges:
Covenant-cide - Kill 120 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking. - 3200cR
Well, this and the "Demon" challenge should be well taken care of today thanks to the "A Walk in the..." challenge which has you getting a thousand kills on Beachhead in Firefight Matchmaking. Now, this challenge has you going for a hundred and twenty kills which should be taken care of in a single game, so do not fret. As I will tell you later in the "A Walk in the..." challenge guide, play Score Attack, so you can insure that you end up playing Beachhead and not some other map.  I hope all this finishes of the Weekly Challenge for you as well if you haven't already complete it.

Demon - Kill 50 Elites in Firefight Matchmaking. - 3000cR
Elites, of certain varieties at least, are the toughest enemies you will face in Firefight and you need to kill fifty of them today in Firefight Matchmaking. Now, you are already going to be aiming for a thousand kills on Beachhead today, so fifty Elites kills sounds pretty simplistic. I am urging you to make some of your games 2X Score Attack due to the final wave of that gametype. The final wave of 2X Score Attack is almost always about twenty Elites and playing three games of that on Beachhead will put you at a nice sixty Elite kills. That is ten more than you need. Challenge complete.

A Walk in the... - Kill 1000 enemies on Beachhead in Firefight Matchmaking. - 3000cR
So, this is a lot of kills, on a large map, and must be done in Matchmaking. This is a great example of why they should never get rid of Score Attack since this would take all day otherwise. In Score Attack you can keep saying none of the above for a while and you will, likely, eventually get Beachhead to show up. Now, due to the "Demon" challenge, at least three of these game should be 2X Score Attack since that will let you get the Elite kills done and out of the way. You can keep going with 2X Score Attack of switch to something like Gruntpocalypse or Rocket Attack if you ever see it come up. Just make sure that you get all the kills every game and you should be done in nine games.

Single Wield - Earn 77 kills with small arms weapons in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 2800cR
This will likely be the most annoying challenge of the day even though "A Walk in the..." looks a lot harder. Small arms in Reach are the Magnum Pistol, Needler, Plasma Pistol, and the Spiker and you need seventy-seven kills with them today in multiplayer Matchmaking. What you will need is gametypes that either feature these weapons or allow you easy access to them. SWAT Magnums is a great playlist for this but even if you just get regular SWAT, you can stick to more close quarters areas and just use the Magnum. As well, Multi Team can be good for the Needler if you can get Elite Slayer. Expect this to take about seven to eight games.

Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 6/23/12

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any ideas or comments about the challenges? Post them down below!

The Challenges:
One Spartan Army - Kill 100 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking. - 2000cR
A hundred kills in Firefight Matchmaking is pretty much par for the course this week due to the Weekly Challenge. You will likely be playing three to four games for the Weekly today, unless you already completed it. If you have completed the Weekly, then you can just play a match in Score Attack which will definitely get you at least a hundred kills. Gruntpocalypse or 2X Score Attack are the best options for this challenge as those are the fastest gametypes in Firefight Matchmaking.

Foggy Notion - Complete a Campaign mission on Heroic with Cloud and Famine on. - 2500cR

As per the normal, your best bet with this challenge will be to do a speedrun of Nightfall. The difficulty is only Heroic and the Famine skull (weapons on the ground have half as much ammunition) will definitely not affect a speedrun. The Cloud skull (no radar), however, can definitely be a pain since you will be unable to see the correct times to run in a few areas. No trouble, however, due to the lower difficulty you can absorb a bit more damage than the (S)LASO speedruns. To see a guide of how to run through the level look here. Video can be seen here on youtube.

... Got a Triple Double - Earn 3 Double Kills in the same match in Multiplayer Matchmaking. - 3000cR
We had a similar challenge yesterday, but just different constraints. For this challenge, instead of five multikills over the entire day, you will need three specific multikills in a single match. Luckily for you, Double Kills are the easiest to obtain of any multikill. You will simply need to score two kills within four seconds of each other three separate times in a single game. This means you need to separate each set of Double Kills by at least four seconds. Grifball is a great playlist for this challenge as it will allow you to get tons of multikills and kills in general.

Sticky Icky Icky - Earn 3 sticky grenade Kills in a multiplayer Matchmaking game. - 2250cR
Sticking an opponent with a plasma grenade in multiplayer Matchmaking has, actually, never been an easy experience for me but some people tend to have a bunch of luck with these types of kills. The grenade that you stick to your opponent needs to be the instrument of the opponents death, as it will not count if you stick someone and they die by other means before it explodes. Multi Team is probably the best playlist for this challenge if you can get the Elite Slayer gametype. That will have you spawning with a single Plasma Grenade but there will be plenty on the ground for you to pick up. Expect this to take two or three games.

Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 6/22/12

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any ideas or comments about the challenges? Post them down below!

The Challenges:
Blastin' and Relaxin' - Kill 180 enemies in any game mode in Reach. - 2343cR
So, you will actually need to go out of your way for this challenge today, which is a first for the last couple of days. The challenges today, mostly "This is My Rifle..." will only get you about a hundred kills. This means that you still need another eighty kills to complete this challenge. Now, this is a really good excuse to go work on the Weekly Challenge, and play games in the Firefight playlist for three rounds progress every game. You should be getting near done with the Weekly, so maybe this will put you over the edge.

Neuroscience - Kill 10 enemies with headshots in a multiplayer Matchmaking game. - 2400cR
So, a headshot needs to be made by a precision weapons in Halo Reach (this ties in nicely with the "This is My Rifle..." challenge) and the shot must be strong enough to penetrate the shields or the shields need to be gone. This means that Team Snipers and Team SWAT are your best options playlist wise. Both games start you with precision weapons (Sniper and DMR respectively) and are setup so one shot to the head is a one-hit kill. This should only take you a single game.

Oops! All Kills - Earn 5 Multikills in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 2000cR
This is rather easy today and should not, at all, take a long time since these multikills do not need to be in a single game. Now, a multikills is awarded whenever you kill multiple players within four seconds of each other. This can be stacked up to ten kills for nine medals. Now, you just need five multikills and these can all be Double Kills. Since you will be playing a bunch of games today to get a hundred kills, you are likely fine just playing normally. There is not really any need to jump into Grifball due to the next challenge.

This is My Rifle... - Earn 100 kills with precision weapons in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 2500cR
Now, this is the focal challenge for today as this is a lot of precision weapons kills for a single day in multiplayer Matchmaking. First off, precision weapons in Reach include the DMR, Sniper, Needle Rifle, and the Covenant Beam Rifle. Likely, you will be using the DMR and Sniper since they have playlist which are made for them (Team SWAT and Team Snipers respectively). As you should be hitting about ten to fifteen kills a game, expect this challenge to take about seven to ten games to complete. Go for objective gametypes in Team SWAT or Team Snipers if they pop up but do not choose SWAT Magnums. Magnums are not precision weapons.

Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 6/21/12

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any ideas or comments about the challenges? Post them down below!

The Challenges:
Light Fare - Kill 100 enemies in any game mode in Reach. - 3000cR
Really no need to worry about this challenge today. Today is a Firefight day which would typically mean that this challenge would be taken care of in a single go. However, you also have the "Heroic Holdout" asking you for a hundred and fifty kills and the "More Like In Post" challenge asking you for a hundred and twenty-five kills. Sounds to me like that is way more than a hundred kills. Focus on the other challenges as they are way harder. Nothing to see here, move along.

Survivor - Earn 7 Sprees in a Firefight Matchmaking game. - 2000cR
A Spree in Firefight Matchmaking will be earned every ten kills as long as you do not die. Now, once you hit fifty kills, having gained five sprees, the sprees get a little more spread out. The next one will be at a hundred and then at five hundred and finally a thousand. Clearly, you will not be hitting those final two sprees in matchmaking. What you will need to do is get a weapon spree (i.e. Sword Spree, Sniper Spree, Shotgun Spree, Hammer Spree, etc). That may work, it may not. If it does not, you will, unfortunately, need to die so you can restart your killing sprees. After that you only need one or two more.

Heroic Holdout - Kill 150 enemies on Holdout on Heroic in Firefight Matchmaking. - 2125cR
Now, the only reason I sort of like Holdout now is because of those static Banshee spawns which always help me out with the "Flat Tire" every so often. How do I feel about it when I do not need those vehicle kills? Meh. It is decent enough, I guess, but not one of the best maps I have seen. Now, You best option for this will actually be Firefight Doubles with a friend. I do not normally suggest this, but this will allow you to hit the right number of kills, pick the right map, and also make progress on the Weekly Challenge by getting three rounds completed instead of one or two in the Score Attack playlist. Expect this to take a single game, but could boil over into another if your teammate is taking all the kills.

More Like In Post - Kill 125 enemies on Outpost in Firefight Matchmaking. - 2100cR
So after you spend a game or two on Holdout, you get to spend a game or two on Outpost. Outpost really is not one of the better maps unless you have a full team of four, I think, since there are too many places to cover. Solo, it is not enjoyable but at least with a teammate you have a chance. Like before, I suggest that you grab a friend and play in the Firefight Doubles playlist. This way, you can get the kills you need, but you will also get three kills for the Weekly Challenge. In Firefight Doubles, or possibly Score Attack, this should only take a single game.

See the Weekly Challenge here.

Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 6/20/12

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any ideas or comments about the challenges? Post them down below!

The Challenges:
Fire When Ready - Kill 30 enemies in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 2100cR
Well, you will be venturing into every possible online mode of Campaign today (multiplayer, Firefight, and Campaign) but this challenge is the least of your worries. You should have no problem completing this challenge today due to "The Magic Number" challenge which has you playing seven games in multiplayer Matchmaking. Hopefully, you will be hitting about ten to fifteen kills per game, which actually means that you will be done in the first two to three games. Hell, some of you will likely be done in the first game.

Bulletproof - Complete 2 Rounds in a Firefight Matchmaking game without dying. - 2200cR
This challenge can actually be quite aggravating due to issues with how the game counts Firefight Rounds without a death. In the game, if you die in the first round, but do not die during the second and third rounds, none of the rounds will count. Once you have died once, it invalidates the challenge and you need to start from a new game. This means that the first two rounds are your target. Now, you will want maps like Beachhead or Glacier as they both have great spots to hid via the jet pack. I would also recommend try to use Snipers or something to make sure you are helping to move the rounds along. Score Attack is out of the question since it only has one round and Firefight Doubles will be very difficult. Do not be afraid to have multiple tries since you needs rounds for the Weekly Challenge anyway.

Pod Kettle Black - Kill 10 Elite Drop Pods in The Long Night of Solace. - 2000cR

Now, the Drop Pods this challenge refers to are not the ones at the beginning of the game, but the ones that are dropping from the corvette, The Long Night of Solace. It drops an unlimited number of these so do not worry if you miss some. To get to it, load up Long Night of Solace on Normal or Heroic from Rally Point Alpha and progress to the Corvette. I would clear everything and then attempt to get the Drop Pod kills once you are supposed to board the vessel. Go below the corvette and you can see about eight Drop Pods shoot out every twenty or so seconds. You just need to kills ten of them. Best way I found was to fly up towards them and shoot them as they launch. Once they are a little ways away, they are practically unkillable.

The Magic Number - Complete 7 games in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 3000cR
So, this is the easier challenge in regards to multiplayer Matchmaking games compared to the other two we have had this week. You do not need to win these games and you do not need to complete twenty of them, just seven. This is easily doable in one night even, but here are some tips to speed things up. First off, stick to slayer game types that go to fifty kills. This means game types with two teams of four to five players each as this will make the game go faster. Avoid objective gametypes. Secondly, try to pick smaller maps since large maps tend to have a lot more traveling than killing. Finally, take a break. Do not sit down and do all of these at once.

The Challenges:
Covenant-cide - Kill 120 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking. - 3200cR
This should just take you a single game of Firefight Matchmaking to complete if you are doing Score Attack. However, I am urging you to play in the Firefight playlist so you can make progress on the Weekly Challenge. Another option is Firefight Doubles which will likely allow you to get these kills in a single game. Now, you also need to be scoring headshots for the "Hyper Lethal Vector" challenge, so do not forget that.

Hyper Lethal Vector - Kill 150 enemies with headshots in Firefight Matchmaking. - 2125cR
Regardless, this challenge will likely take you two games to complete as a hundred and fifty headshots is a lot for one game. I am urging you to play in the Firefight playlist so you can complete more rounds for the Weekly Challenge. Now, Sniperfight is a great option for this as it will start you with the Sniper and allow you to score one-shot headshot kills on everyone, at least through the first round. Arcadefight is an okay alternative, but expect that most people will be using the Rockets or FRG, which will make the Sniper a little too slow to keep up. Arcadefight in Firefight Doubles, with a friend might be a good alternative.

Golden Tree City - Find and kill the Gold Ranger-class Elite in a Banshee, fast and low, while on New Alexandria, on Legendary. - 4500cR

We are seeing this one more and more often now but it is actually one of the easier BoBs (Born on Boards or Gold-Ranger Class Elites) to kill. You will want to load up New Alexandria on Legendary difficulty and fly near Club Errera. Hover at around two-hundred meters and wait for a constantly boosting, combat-avoiding Banshee to appear from the Northwest. The amount of time he takes to appear is varying and make take anywhere from five to twenty minutes. The game has to be on Legendary as the BoB will not appear on other difficulties. Video of how to snag this BoB is here on youtube.

The Love of the Game - Complete 20 games in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 4200cR
Yikes! Well, this one is going to suck for anyone who has work, though all the kids on summer break can probably hammer it out. Twenty games will take a while to complete possibly about four to five hours. I do have a few suggestions, however. First off, do not quit, disconnect, or get booted from any games as that will make the game not count. You must complete it from start to finish. Secondly, Team SWAT tends to have faster games since players die faster. This also means that you should be choosing the Slayer gametype when the option comes up. Stay away from objective games types as those will take longer. As well, smaller maps typically have shorter games as well. Finally, take breaks. Do not try to do these all in one sitting.

Halo Reach Daily and Weekly Challenges Guide - 6/18/12

The Challenges:
Three Dog Fight - Earn a Triple Kill in Multiplayer Matchmaking. - 2000cR
This is weird, because there is no challenge today asking us to "kill X number of enemies" in Reach. Not sure what I will do with myself now. Just kidding, anyway, a Triple Kill is three kills made all within four seconds of each other. You only need one today, unlike yesterday where you needed two, so this should not take too much time. My personal preference is Grifball as it allows you to get a ton of kills and multi kills. Triple Kills are a very common occurrence.

You Want This, Don't You? - Earn 12 kills with precision weapons in a multiplayer Matchmaking game. - 3000cR
Short of the "Three Dog Fight" challenge, this is actually the easiest one of the day. Well, the other challenges are not exactly hard, but they are a grind. Now, precision weapons in Reach are the DMR, Sniper, Needle Rifle, and the Covenant Beam Rifle. DMR and Sniper will be your most likely tools of destruction for this challenge. Teams SWAT (DMR) and Team Snipers (Sniper, duh!) are the best playlists for this challenge as the only weapons you can use are precision weapons and all headshots are one-hit kills. Twelve kills is about what you should be hitting in a game but this make take two or so tries.

Home Field Advantage - Win 7 games in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 2050cR
So, 343i is really not being nice to use today. On top of giving us a decently long Weekly Challenge, today you will also be playing a ton of multiplayer. Seven games would not be a lot if you only had to complete the games. Winning them, on the other hand, is quite a bit more challenging. You can expect to possibly have to play double the number of games today or more to get the seven wins. Try to stick to gametypes with only two teams, play with friends, and take breaks every so often. Those three tips help a lot.

Single Wield - Earn 40 kills with small arms weapons in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 2600cR
Another challenge for today that I could really do without, but hopefully you can play it into your favor. Small arms in Reach include the Magnum Pistols, Plasma Pistol, Needler, and the Brute Spiker. The Magnum Pistol and the Needler are the best weapons for this challenge since the Plasma Pistol is weak and the Spiker is hard to find. Now, Team SWAT seems to always have SWAT Magnums pop up as a gametype option now. Try for it and after three or four games you should have this challenge in the bag. Hopefully you win some of those games too.

The Weekly Challenge:
Like a Record, Baby - Complete 75 Rounds in Firefight Matchmaking. - 28000cR

Well, this should look pretty similar to last week's Weekly Challenge just asking you to play a different amount of games in Firefight Matchmaking. Ironically, this is a harder challenge, as it requires more games played, but is worth two thousand less credits than last week. It really makes no sense. Now, a Firefight match is divided up into sets, rounds, and waves. Five waves make up a round, and three rounds make up a set. Games in the Firefight playlist will typically be one set, which gets you three rounds, while games in the Score Attack playlist are typically one round. Obviously, you will want to stick to the Firefight playlist for this one. This means twenty-five games of Firefight, if you complete every round, which is four every day this week. Good luck, as this will take some dedication.
