Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 9/30/12

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any ideas or comments about the challenges? Post them down below!

The Challenges:
Light Fare - Kill 100 enemies in any game mode in Reach. - 3000cR
Well, this is the final day of the week and the last day to complete the Weekly Challenge. Even if you have completed the Weekly Challenge, getting a hundred kills for this one should be taken care of by the other challenges. You will be scoring seventy-seven kills in multiplayer for the "Close Talking" challenge, at least a hundred and twenty for the "A Simple Spree" challenge, and finally probably a hundred or so for the "Deathless Pillar" challenge. As you can see, seventy-seven kills is very well taken care of and should pose absolutely no trouble for you today at all.

A Simple Spree - Earn any spree in Firefight Matchmaking. - 2000cR
A spree in Firefight is possibly one of the easiest things to obtain, other than, perhaps, a single kill. You simply need to score ten kills without dying to get a spree and complete this challenge. This should basically be done in your first game, in the first wave of the first round, with your first ten kills. It really is that simple. If you have already completed the Weekly Challenge, then just play a game in the Score Attack playlist. If you have yet to complete the Weekly Challenge, then this one will pretty much be taken care of for you, so no real need to worry then. Currently unsure if non-killing sprees will count for this challenge, however.

Borderlands 2: Vault Symbol Locations - Part 3: Tundra Express to Caustic Caverns

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any questions or comments about the Vaults Symbols or Borderlands 2? Post them down below!

So, here is the third Cult of the Vault Guide for Borderlands 2 (Part 1 here and Part 2 here).  Below, I will list all the Vault Symbol locations for Tundra Express, End of the Line, Sanctuary Hole, Fink's Slaughterhouse, The Fridge, The Highlands, and Caustic Caverns.  Video guide is posted below.  Hope to have part four up in a few days.

Tundra Express (2/2)

  1. The first symbol for Tundra Express is located atop the Varkid Observatory, just below the central part of the map.  Go onto the roof and head for the northern section.  The symbol will be on the floor.
  2. The second symbol for Tundra Express is in the norther section of the map.  Look for where the railroad splits into a "v".  In between the "v", there will a metal shack.  On the northern wall of the shack, you can find the symbol.

The Challenges:
Blastin' and Relaxin' - Kill 180 enemies in any game mode in Reach. - 2343cR
No real reason to worry about this challenge today, for a very simple reason; the Weekly Challenge. You can probably rack up about forty to fifty kills today from the two multiplayer matchmaking challenge, "I'm Rubber, You're Glue" and "Cook 'em, Clean 'em!", but not much more.  The Weekly Challenge  will have you playing at least five or so games of Firefight Matchmaking in the standard Firefight playlist. This will likely get you about four hundred to five hundred kills today. So, that is why you do not need to worry about a challenge asking you to get a hundred and eighty kills.

I'm Rubber, You're Glue - Earn 2 sticky grenade Kills in a multiplayer Matchmaking game. - 2200cR
Earning sticky grenade (Plasma Grenade) kills is definitely something of an art form for some players but, for me, it is just blind luck as I am terrible with sticky grenades. Regardless of that, you will need to get two sticky grenade kills in a single game today to walk away with this challenge. Multi Team is likely your best option since it is the playlist in which you are most likely to see the Elite Slayer gametype pop up. Elite Slayer will have you spawn with a single plasma grenade every time you spawn so it is ideal for garnering sticky grenades kills. Since you are just going for the sticky grenade kills, do not be afraid to die going for them. Just get your two and then go crazy.

Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 9/28/12

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any ideas or comments about the challenges? Post them down below!

The Challenges:
More than a Handful - Kill 25 enemies in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 2000cR
As expected, today is all multiplayer Matchmaking challenge but, alas, you will still need to play Firefight to work on the Weekly Challenge. This challenge, asking you to score twenty-five kills, will be easily taken care of by the challenge right below it, which is asking you to score seventy-seven kills in multiplayer Matchmaking. Stick to whatever gametype you wish but if you want to get this one done quickly and you do not care about the other challenges, hit up Grifball. It will likely be done in a single game if you do that, though it will not be necessary if you are doing the other challenges.

Now I have a Machine Gun - Earn 77 kills with automatic weapons in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 4400cR
This is actually going to be a long and irritating challenge as most automatic weapons in Reach are severely underpowered. You weapons of choice are the AR, the Needler, the Plasma Rifle, the Plasma Repeater, and the Brute Spiker, if you can find it. The most effect of these weapons is the Needler and if you want to use it your best bet is Multi Team with the gametype Elite Slayer. This gametypes pops up fairly often in Multi Team but not really anywhere else consistently. Seventy-seven kills is a ton so do not be surprised if this take a crap ton of games. If you can score about eight or ten per game, and you will really need to try for them, you can have this done in ten games or faster of you have some really good games. Take breaks during this one, shouldn't sit down not moving for that long.

The Challenges:
Covenant-cide - Kill 120 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking. - 3200cR
I'm not really going to write much for this challenge today for a single reason. See that challenge just below this one, the one asking you to get a thousand kills on Outpost? Yeah, that is why it is completely unnecessary to write anything for this challenge, especially when you add in the Weekly Challenge. Move along.

More Like In Post - Kill 1000 enemies on Outpost in Firefight Matchmaking. - 3000cR
This will actually be an irritating challenge today due to the Weekly Challenge. You could go into the Score Attack playlist and play nine games on Outpost, at about a hundred and twenty kills a game, to complete this challenge, but that would only get you nine rounds complete for the Weekly Challenge. If you just go to the Firefight Playlist for the Weekly Challenge, you will likely have a hard time getting this map, though more people than normal should be going for it. Your best bet is to play four to five games in the Firefight Playlist, going for this map, and by then finishing it off with Score Attack. Regardless, you will likely be hitting twenty or more Rounds today, so good luck.

Borderlands 2: Vault Symbol Locations - Part 2: Three Horns Valley to Bloodshot Ramparts

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any questions or comments about the Vaults Symbols or Borderlands 2? Post them down below!

So, took a little bit longer than I wanted to to get this guide up (Part 1 here), but video went up last nite for any who are interested.  Hoping to have at least one more up this weekend and then the rest as I make it through the game.  Here, I will list all the Vault Symbol locations for Three Horns Valley, Southpaw Steam and Power, Frostburn, The Dust, Bloodshot Stronghold, and Bloodshot Ramparts.  Video guide is posted below.

Three Horns Valley (3/3)

  1.   Symbol is located near the entrance to Southpaw Steam and Power.  Go up the ladder near the Catch-a-Ride, down to the western edge of the wall, drop down over the pipes, and then look to the North.  Symbol will be in an alcove with some chests.
  2. Go to the southern-most portion of the map and you will see a shack behind a steam piston behind a lake.  In that Shack are two Bad-Ass enemies and your second symbol on the Southern Wall. Having a friend helps here.
  3. After you have been to The Dust and gotten the Bandit Technical, you can unlock the entrance to the Bloodshot stronghold which features a drawbridge.  If you are looking at the drawbridge controls, turn left and along the western walls of the buildings you will find the final symbol for this area.

The Challenges:
Blastin' and Relaxin' - Kill 180 enemies in any game mode in Reach. - 2343cR
So, how is the Weekly Challenge going? I know it sucks, but luckily today's Daily Challenges are not all that time consuming. This challenge alone, asking you to score a hundred and eighty kills in any game mode of Reach should be taken care of by the "Heroic Overwatch" challenge which has you getting a hundred and twenty five kills in Overlook in Firefight Matchmaking. If you do happen to get that in a single game, you still need to play a bunch for the Weekly Challenge so it should be taken care of. Either way, you will be hitting well over a hundred and eighty kills today.

Heroic Overwatch - Kill 125 enemies on Overlook on Heroic in Firefight Matchmaking. - 2000cR
Most of you have probably played Overlook since it was the only Firefight map playable in the Halo Reach Beta (remember Firefight Versus?) and is also the first area in which you see combat in the campaign. I actually do not like the map that much for Score Attack as the sightlines suck and you can get flanked easily, but since you should be playing in the Firefight playlist for the Weekly Challenge, you will likely be all fine. A hundred and twenty five kills is likely more than you can get in a single game so I would aim for at least two games on this map to satisfy the challenge. May even take three but hopefully not. If need be, after completing a bunch of rounds today, load this map up in Score Attack to finish it off.

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any ideas or comments about the challenges? Post them down below!

The Challenges:
Covenant-cide - Kill 120 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking. - 3200cR
It seems as though the Weekly Challenge has been changed from a hundred waves to a hundred rounds, which is ridiculous, but I will be updating the Weekly Challenge entry later today but not much will change. You just need to play a lot more firefight, probably about five games a day and fully completing all those games. On that note, getting a hundred and twenty kills now looks really easy, doesn't it? Well, you should get this done while working on "A Walk in the..." and the Weekly Challenge so move along.

A Walk in the... - Kill 150 enemies on Beachhead in Firefight Matchmaking. - 1125cR
Beachhead is definitely one of my favorite maps for Firefight Matchmaking just due to its size and since it is one of the only maps where some vehicle usage is feasible (Man, do I miss Lost Platoon). You will need to get this map while working on the Weekly Challenge and, if you do not get it or the other players vote for a different map, you may be best off playing two games of Score Attack to take care of these kills. That will only get you two rounds of Firefight for the Weekly Challenge, which sucks, but you may not get Beachhead at all otherwise. So yeah, this challenge can actually be very annoying.

Halo Reach Daily and Weekly Challenges Guide - 9/24/12

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any ideas or comments about the challenges? Post them down below!

The Challenges:
One Spartan Army - Kill 400 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking. - 2000cR
So, the challenges are actually really easy today and should not take a lot of hard work to complete. Seriously, it looks like you have a lot of kills to do, but most of them are in Firefight, so it is not a big deal. All of this challenge will be taken care of by the "Ride the Wave" Weekly Challenge as you can play four games in the Standard Firefight playlist and you should hit four hundreds kills (you will get about a hundred kills per game). This will also get you a great start on the Weekly Challenge since four games of standard Firefight will be sixty-four waves already completed.

Short, Controlled Bursts - Kill 50 enemies with automatic weapons in the Campaign today. - 1000cR
Well, they couldn't all be Firefight today, I guess. I would rather have this challenge in Campaign then Firefight though, so here is what you need to do to finish this one off. Load up Winter Contingency and simply play through the level on Heroic. Stick to using only automatic weapons (AR, Needler, Plasma Repeater, Plasma Rifle) and you should have no problem hitting fifty before you finish the mission. Remember that as long as you damage the enemy, your AI teammates can score the kill and it will count for you. This means that you should just spray into enemy groups to score as many kills as possible.

Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 9/23/12

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any ideas or comments about the challenges? Post them down below!

The Challenges:

Blastin' and Relaxin' - Kill 180 enemies in any game mode in Reach. - 2343cR
Most likely, today, the other challenges will not complete this one for you. If you follow the Nightfall speedrun method for "Harder Than Some," you will get practically not kills for it. "Katanarama" will get you about a hundred and twenty kills while "Go Right Ahead Folks" can get you anywhere from twenty to forty kills. That leaves at about a hundred and forty to a hundred and sixty kills. Forty or twenty short means you are better off jumping back into multiplayer Matchmaking than Firefight. Grifball would be my recommendation because you can score twenty to forty kills in a single ten minute game. Multi Team or Invasion are also a decent options.

Harder Than Some - Complete a Campaign mission on Heroic with Thunderstorm, Famine and Tilt on. - 5000cR
Hey! Who can guess what campaign mission I am going to recommend you play for this challenge? Your options are thus; A.) Nightfall, B.) Nightfall, C.) Nightfall, or D.)WTF is this? If you chose A, B, or C, congrats you win nothing. If you chose D, Hi!, welcome to the site and this is called filler. Now, a speedrun of Nightfall can be done in about seven to ten minutes following the guide here. We need to turn the Thunderstorm (upgraded enemies), Famine (less ammo in picked up weapons), and Tilt (modified damage tables) skulls on but they will not really affect us as we are not picking up weapons and we are running through the level. Make sure you pick Heroic to, or else the challenge will not pop. Should take a single try to complete as you can die as much as you want.

Borderlands 2: Vault Symbol Locations - Part 1: Windshear Wastes to Sanctuary

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any questions or comments about the Vaults Symbols or Borderlands 2? Post them down below!

So, if you have started playing Borderlands 2, you can notice that there are challenges for each area called "The Cult of the Vault." They give you, typically, one or five additional badass ranks when you complete each challenge. Here, I will list all the Vault Symbol locations for Windshear Wastes, Southern Shelf, Southern Shelf Bay, Three Horns - Divide, and Sanctuary.  Video guide is posted below.

Windshear Wastes (1/1)

  1. This is the easiest and can be gotten practically as soon as the games starts. Once you make it to Clap Trap's Place, there is a door along the northern wall that will have four dead Clap Traps pop out once it is opened. The Vault Symbol is behind those Clap Traps.

The Challenges:

Shootin' and Lootin' - Kill 250 enemies in any game mode in Reach. - 3800cR
So, another all multiplayer Matchmaking day in a row. Really, this is not a horrible thing, especially with some of the credit values for these challenge, but they do make it really iffy as to whether or not this challenge will need any extra work. "Light Fuse, Run Away" and "Neuroscience" are really no worry to use because they are so easy and can be done in a game or two. What you need to focus on is "Who's the Big Winner?" as it will have you playing at least twelve games today. Most likely, you will play more because it is very unlikely that you will win twelve games in a row right out of the gate. Get through the wins and then come back to this challenge. Firefight will probably be best to finish it off.

Light Fuse, Run Away - Kill 4 enemies with grenades in a multiplayer Matchmaking game. - 2100cR
This challenge can actually be harder than it sounds, especially since the kills have to be in a single game. It does not matter the type of grenade, but just that your grenade exploding is what killed your opponent. You may very well get this while working on the "Who's the Big Winner?" challenge but probably not. Get your wins taken care of first and then hope over to Multi Team if need be. There are typically a plethora of targets in this playlist and you can just lob grenades into groups and score kills. Four should be really easy to hit here but if you are having troubles, aim for objective gametypes like Crazy King since you will then know where everyone is heading.

Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 9/21/12

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any ideas or comments about the challenges? Post them down below!

The Challenges:

Light Fare - Kill 100 enemies in any game mode in Reach. - 3000cR
So, back to Multiplayer Matchmaking today, as is the norm for a Friday or, at least, the day after only Firefight Matchmaking challenges. My gut instinct is telling me that the other challenges today will not be able to complete this "Light Fare" challenge and that you will need to play some extra games. A hundred kills is your target but you also need three wins for the "Un, Deux, Trois" challenge. See how for you can get with all the other challenges and then come back and play some Grifball, Invasion, Multi Team, or whatever you enjoy to get yourself to a hundred kills.

Secondary Fire - Earn 25 assists today in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 2875cR
So an assist is rewarded when you score at least forty percent damage to an enemy that is killed by another player before that health regens. Get what you can while first getting your kills and then head to Multi Team to get this challenge done. You should also be able to pull in a fair number of kills here, but assists are you goal. A map like Countdown or Zealot is perfect since they are small and have lots of wide open space. Remember, you basically want the other players to steal your kills. This is also a good time to pick Crazy King as a game type because you know where everyone is headed and you can get a lot more assists per game than normal.

Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 9/20/12

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any ideas or comments about the challenges? Post them down below!

The Challenges:

One Spartan Army - Kill 100 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking. - 2000cR
Well, it is Thursday, which means it is time for a day full of Firefight Matchmaking and tomorrow will be multiplayer Matchmaking only (maybe). This first challenge, asking you to slay a hundred enemies in Firefight Matchmaking, is really not a bother for this reason; you will get a hundred and twenty kills per game while playing Score Attack. So this one should get done in your first game and then you can easily go on worry about your other challenges since some of them will, as always, be a pain in the ass.

Demon - Kill 40 Elites in Firefight Matchmaking. - 2800cR
Elites are the toughest enemies you can face in Halo, hands down, but do not spawn reliably in most playlists or gametypes. There is one gametype, however, where they do spawn reliably and that gametype is 2X Score Attack. In the final wave there will always be about twenty or so Elites for you to kill so two games will take care of this challenge, but hold up. Complete "Flat Tire" first, and then worry about hopping into 2X Score Attack to complete this challenge, as you will likely score Elite kills while finding vehicles to destroy and vehicles destroyed in 2X Score Attack will not count towards "Flat Tire."

Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 9/19/12

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any ideas or comments about the challenges? Post them down below!

The Challenges:

More than a Handful - Kill 77 enemies in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 3500cR
Since there is only one multiplayer Matchmaking challenge today, which will only require a single game, you will pretty much get to do whatever you want to come up with these kills in multiplayer Matchmaking. Just try to have fun, honestly. My advice is, of course, Grifball as you can get thirty to forty kills per game in that playlist if the teams are even or even more if no one score and the teams are very lopsided. Multi Team is another good option and some will prefer to play in Invasion, Big Team Battle, or just vanilla Team Slayer. Point it, the choice is yours so just try to have fun and enjoy playing Halo.

A Satisfied Thirst - Kill 200 Grunts in Firefight Matchmaking. - 3000cR
Well, this is one of the simpler Firefight Challenge we have had come up recently, especially since you just need to kill Grunts. In most gametypes, this will actually take a while since you only get about twenty to thirty grunts per game, so head to the Score Attack playlist. You can play Gruntpocalypse and kill about a hundred and twenty Grunts per game. As you can imagine, this will get the challenge done in just under two full games. Any other method will take about five to ten games to complete.

Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 9/18/12

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any ideas or comments about the challenges? Post them down below!

The Challenges:

One Spartan Army - Kill 400 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking. - 2000cR
Well, challenged are all over the place today so you will be in all the various modes if you plan to get them all done today. Four hundred kills in Firefight is actually a manageable number but you will be playing four or so games to hit this number. On average you get about a hundred and twenty kills per games in the Score Attack playlist which is definitely the easiest for anyone to play with gametypes like 2X Score Attack and Gruntpocalypse. You will be playing about two to three games for "Blast Radius" anyway, so it will not be too bad to tack on two more games for this one.

Blast Radius - Kill 75 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking with grenades. - 2500cR
This challenge should actually be really easy because grenades are never hard to find in Firefight Matchmaking and, in the right playlist, enemies will dies very easily to your grenades. For us, the playlist will be Score Attack and the preferred gametypes are 2X Score Attack and Gruntpocalypse. You are likely to run out of Grenades in either gametype so remember that there are always some at spawn and that Plasma Grenades are just as good as Fragmentation Grenades. You will want to try and catch enemies as they spawn since it makes them very easy targets and they do not move immediately. Expect this to take two of three games to complete since you will run out of grenades quite often.

Halo Reach Daily and Weekly Challenges Guide - 9/17/12

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any ideas or comments about the challenges? Post them down below!

The Challenges:
Fire When Ready - Kill 30 enemies in multiplayer Matchmaking - 2100cR
Hopefully, thirty kills is not at all a challenge today and gets done rather quickly. I am urging you to play in the Invasion playlist for the "Explosive Ordnance Distribution" challenge and that should make life a bit easier in terms of getting kills. If you are having trouble getting kills while working on the other challenge, Grifball is always an option, or just any gametype that you regularly have success in. You do need to play six games at the least today so you can likely through in whatever gametype you want at the end. It is all based on what you want to do so get to it.

Explosive Ordnance Distribution - Earn 7 kills with ordnance weapons in a multiplayer Matchmaking game. - 2400cR
I hate this challenge now. I mean, I did not like it before, but now that Action Sack is gone, it just seems pointless. Anyway, ordinance weapons in Reach include the Rocket Launcher, Grenade Launcher, Plasma Launcher, and the Concussion Rifle. The Rocket Launcher would be your preferred weapon but it is also the hardest to find so you will likely need to rely upon the Grenade Launcher and the Concussion Rifle. Now, since Action Sack has been removed from Matchmaking the next best source, which I forgot of before, is Invasion. You can do regular Invasion or Invasion Slayer but do remember that Hemorrhage is not a great map for explosive ordnance kills (it's too flat) so stick to the other maps. You need to get seven kills so this will definitely take some tries to complete. Be patient, though.

Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 9/16/12

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any ideas or comments about the challenges? Post them down below!

The Challenges:

One Spartan Army - Kill 400 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking. - 2000cR
It seems like you will be playing a lot of games today in all various modes. This challenge, which is typically score kills in any game mode, is focused today on just Firefight. There is only one other Firefight challenge, "Demon" asking you to get forty Elite kills, so you will need to play extra games to finish this one off. Since you will likely be in the Score Attack playlist, you can score about a hundred and twenty kills per game. This means that you will need to complete four games to finish off this challenge. The preferred gametypes are Gruntpocalypse and 2X Score Attack. Have fun.

... Got a Triple Double - Earn 3 Double Kills in the same match in Multiplayer Matchmaking. - 3000cR
So, finished the Weekly Challenge yet? Today would be a great day for that, as it is the last day, and you might also want to get three Double Kills while you are at it to take care of this easy challenge. Now, a Double Kill is when you score two kills within four seconds of each other and this is the most common type of multi kill. You will need to space these out so you do not stack to high multi kills, which will not count for this challenge. Your best bet for getting these Double Kills is, without a doubt, Grifball as it allows you to score tons and tons of kill and multi kills. If that is not your cup of tea, Multi Team is also another great option, but will likely take longer to reach the same numbers as Grifball.

Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 9/15/12

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any ideas or comments about the challenges? Post them down below!

The Challenges:

Shootin' and Lootin' - Kill 400 enemies in any game mode in Reach. - 4000cR
So it seems that this week the multiplayer focus day will be Saturday instead of Friday and I'm sure we can deal with that. It actually probably works out better this way as it makes challenges like "The Magic Number" even easier to complete due to most people having more time. Now, for this challenge, well, we will need to go outside the realm of multiplayer to complete it and that means Firefight. The other challenges today will probably not even get you a hundred kills, but if you can hit around sixty or so, you will only need three games in the Score Attack playlist to finish this challenge off. 2X Score Attack and Gruntpocalypse in the Score Attack playlist are your best bets.

Sticky Icky Icky - Earn 4 sticky grenade Kills in a multiplayer Matchmaking game. - 1300cR
Sticky Grenades are fun, when used properly (i.e. sticking the other team, not teammates) but I have always sucked with them. I am really good at throwing grenades just past an opponent's head, between his/her legs, or in between the arm and the body. If you are like me, the trick is to get really close to your opponent or to have a crap ton of grenades. Multi Team seems to provide a great mixture of both strategies if you can get the Elite Slayer gametype. This gametype will have all players as Elites and you always start with one Plasma Grenade. Now, you actually need to stick your opponent and have them die from your grenade to get credit. Sticking them and then having the kill stolen is no good. As well, killing opponents with the grenade you stuck to someone else will also not count towards this challenge. Expect this to take two or three games to complete.

Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 9/14/12

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any ideas or comments about the challenges? Post them down below!

The Challenges:

Light Fare - Kill 100 enemies in any game mode in Reach. - 3000cR
It is a little iffy as to whether the challenges today will get this one done for you. It all hinges on the "Inclement Weather" challenge and whether you play through Nightfall or Winter Contingency. Since you likely still need to make progress on the Weekly Challenge (scoring two hundred multikills in multiplayer Matchmaking), I would recommend Nightfall and then just going crazy in the Grifball playlist to score kills and multikills. It looks like a win-win situation to me.

Light Fuse, Run Away - Kill 4 enemies with grenades in a multiplayer Matchmaking game. - 2100cR
This will likely prove to be a decently hard challenge for some, especially people like me since I am horrible with grenades. What I have found to be a great playlist, however, for scoring grenade kills is the Multi Team playlist. In this playlist, especially if you can get an objective gametype, enemies tend to congregate near the middle of the map. You can easily just toss some grenades in there and score easy kills. Getting to four should not be too problematic, but can take a few games if people constantly pick Rocket Hog Race (You know who you are and I can hardly put into words how much I hate you!). Try to use Plasma Grenades a lot as well since, if you can stick someone going into a pile, you can score a ton of kills and multikills. Expect this to take two or three games.

Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 9/13/12

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any ideas or comments about the challenges? Post them down below!

The Challenges:

Covenant-cide - Kill 120 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking. - 3200cR
Well, you will be playing a crap ton of Firefight Matchmaking today, not thanks to this challenge though. It is the other challenges that will cause this as you have to score a hundred of different weapon kills and headshots, though some of those can be done at the same time, thankfully. Now, for this challenge, you hardly even need to worry since it is just asking for a hundred and twenty kills in Firefight Matchmaking. In Score Attack, you should hit this in your first game or so and in the Firefight playlist, this will likely take two games to complete. I'm suggesting you hit the four-player Firefight playlist at the start, so expect to get it there.

The T.G. Opposition - Kill 100 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking with the Shotgun. - 3000cR
The key to getting a bunch of Shotgun kills in Firefight Matchmaking is having the right gametype and the right map. You need the right games type so you have a shotgun and also unlimited ammunition. For our purposes that gametype will be Arcadefight NEP where the shotgun is available in one of the loadouts. No other gametypes really have the shotgun, except occasionally as a weapon drop. You will also need a small map on which to complete this challenge. Courtyard is a great option for this as well as the map is small and parts of it are isolated. Expect this to take at least two games to complete.

Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 9/12/12

The Challenges:

Shootin' and Lootin' - Kill 400 enemies in any game mode in Reach. - 4000cR
Been a while since we had a challenge asking for this many kills and I think it is a refreshing change. The other Daily Challenge will not get this one done for you today, unless "Linked Up with Bungie.net" becomes a crazy challenge asking you to play a bunch of games or score a bunch of kills. Now, I would expect to play multiple games of Firefight to complete this challenge so, after you complete "A Simple Spree" you will only need to play three more games to finish this one off, maybe only two more if you get a bunch of kills going for the "Twin Trips" challenge as well.

A Simple Spree - Earn any spree in Firefight Matchmaking. - 2000cR
A spree in Firefight Matchmaking is ten kills uninterrupted by death of any kind. Scoring a spree is insanely easy in Firefight Matchmaking pretty much regardless of whatever gametype and playlist you choose. Personally, go for Score Attack so you can get as many kills as possible for the "Shootin' and Lootin'" challenge, because you will need it. 2X Score Attack is a great playlist for this and just getting kills quickly because you deal double damage to all enemies. Make sure you aim for a small map for this challenge to speed things up. You can also do this in Gruntpocalypse, which is all Grunts, and in the regular Firefight playlist, but you will likely get less kills.

Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 9/11/12

The Challenges:

Blastin' and Relaxin' - Kill 180 enemies in any game mode in Reach. - 2343cR
Well, you will be playing in all the various modes today since you have a challenge in each and every mode. Getting a hundred and eighty kills should not be much of a bother either since all the other challenges should take care of the kills. You will be getting about a hundred to two-hundred kills for the "That Pink Mist" challenge (depends on how good you are with the Needler or Needle Rifle), at least a hundred kills for the "Short, Controlled Bursts" challenge, and then about thirty to forty kills (or more if you lose a lot) for the "Un, Deux, Trois" challenge. All in all, this one seem well taken care of, wouldn't you say?

That Pink Mist - Kill 40 enemies with a Supercombine from the Needler or Needle Rifle in Firefight Matchmaking. - 2200cR
Sparing the get three wins challenge for multiplayer, getting forty Supercombine kills in Firefight Matchmaking might actually be a little bit harder. A Supercombine occurs when you stick enough enemies with needles that the resulting explosion kills them. It has to be the explosion that kills them, not the final needs that trigger the explosion, which is what happens with all grunts unless the Mythic Skull is on. Now, the Firefight playlist is your best bet for this challenge and you will want the gametype Arcadefight NEP as it will allow you to choose a loadout with an FRG and a Needler. These weapons will have unlimited ammunition. Now, this might take two games because you will have three other players to compete with, but expect the kills to start going up once the second round starts as the Mythic Skull will then be on.

Halo Reach Daily and Weekly Challenges Guide - 9/10/12

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any ideas or comments about the challenges? Post them down below!

The Challenges:
Gunslinger - Kill 75 enemies in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 2250cR
Well, everything is multiplayer today, which is definitely a plus considering this challenge and the "Put Your Quarter Up" challenge. You just need seventy-five kills in multiplayer Matchmaking today but you will be playing at least twelve games. This should also help you get a decent chunk of multikills for the Weekly Challenge, "Multiplicative." As you should be scoring about ten to twelve kills a game, you should have this done well before you play your twelfth games. If you are having trouble with this, load up Grifball or Multi Team and you can rack up a bunch of kills.

Explosive Ordnance Distribution - Earn 7 kills with ordnance weapons in a multiplayer Matchmaking game. - 2400cR
Well, now that Action Sack is gone, this challenge really sucks. The trick will now be to get the right gametype on the right map. You will have to make do with the weapons that are on the map so make sure that you get a map with multiple ordnance weapons. These weapons include the Rocket Launcher, Grenade Launcher, Concussion Rifle, and the Plasma Launcher. Powerhouse is a decent choice as it has the Rocket and Grenade Launcher on the map. Try to get an objective gametype that has multiple rounds as you should get more weapon respawns that way. Even in these circumstances, this will be a hard challenge to get, so be patient and remember that you need to play twelve games anyway.

Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 9/9/12

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any ideas or comments about the challenges? Post them down below!

The Challenges:

Light Fare - Kill 100 enemies in any game mode in Reach. - 3000cR
Well, you should really have no trouble with this challenge today as a hundred kills will be very easy to come by. You can try for any of these challenges by themselves and take care of this one. These kills can be gained in any mode in Reach which should make everyone's lives easier. Really not much else to say for this one, just get the other challenges done and you are all set for this challenge. Move along.

Take A Dip - Kill 150 enemies on Waterfront in Firefight Matchmaking. - 2500cR
So, unfortunately this will require at least two games to complete. Waterfront is an okay map, though not my favorite for any sort of Firefight since you can easily get flanked or surrounded. Now, a hundred and fifty kills is past what you would typically get in a single match of Score Attack or in the Firefight playlist so this will require two games. Should be pretty easy to go for during the "J.H. Death Machine" challenge as that will likely take two games to complete. Firefight playlist will be your preferred one for this challenge.

Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 9/8/12

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any ideas or comments about the challenges? Post them down below!

The Challenges:

Blastin' and Relaxin' - Kill 180 enemies in any game mode in Reach. - 2343cR
I believe this is the first time this week that the other Daily Challenges are not going to take care of the generic "Kill X enemies" challenge that we always get. We need a hundred and eighty kills today in any mode total. You will get about twelve or so for the "Not as Clumsy or Random..." challenge, hundred and twenty for the "Scoped" challenge, and around ten or so if you do a Nightfall speedrun for the "Foggy Notion" challenge. That has you about forty kills short of the hundred and eighty needed for this challenge. Now, your best bet will be to play a second game of Firefight to get the kills or to just play multiplayer until you hit the hundred and eighty. The choice is yours.

Not as Clumsy or Random... - Earn 5 kills with precision weapons in a multiplayer Matchmaking game. - 2000cR
Thankfully, this challenge is very, very easy and should only take a single game to complete. The trick is to make sure that you are using the rights playlist and gametype for the challenge. For our purposes, needing kills with precision weapons (DMR, Sniper Rifle, Needle Rifle, and Covenant Beam Rifle), we will want to play in either the Team Snipers or Team SWAT playlist which use the Sniper Rifle and DMR respectively. Five kills will be easy enough to hit in a single game as you should be hitting ten to fifteen kills per game anyway. One game and then just move on to the other challenges.

Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 9/7/12

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any ideas or comments about the challenges? Post them down below!

The Challenges:

Gunslinger - Kill 40 enemies in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 3500cR
I am really doubting that the "You Want This, Don't You?" challenge and the "Double Nickels" challenge will hit this forty kill limit for anyone. You would have to have exceedingly good games in a row. I know that I am never that lucky, but maybe you guys (and gals) are. Regardless, you are playing at least four games today for the "Participation Counts" challenge and you should be hitting about twelve or so kills a game in multiplayer Matchmaking. If you are still short, load up a game of Grifball to finish it off.

You Want This, Don't You? - Earn 10 kills with precision weapons in a multiplayer Matchmaking game. - 2500cR
Precision weapons (i.e. DMR, Sniper Rifle, Needle Rifle, and the Covenant Beam Rifle) are my favorites and are keenly featured in two playlists. First playlist is Team SWAT which features players with no shield and DMRs. Typically the maps are medium-sized and games are quick. Ten kills with the DMR should be easy as hell. Your other option is Team Snipers. Snipers will likely be a little more difficult as games can be drown out on the larger maps, like Hemorrhage, and the winning team may not even get fifty kills. If you really want to do Snipers, pick a small map. Remember, these need to be done in a single game.

Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 9/6/12

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any ideas or comments about the challenges? Post them down below!

The Challenges:

Light Fare - Kill 100 enemies in any game mode in Reach. - 3000cR
Well, you will be playing multiple games of Firefight Matchmaking today for the other Daily Challenge and, as the typically number of kills in the Firefight playlist (not Score Attack) are about eighty to a hundred kills, two games should be enough to take care of this challenge at a maximum. If you happen to play any other mode before this, those kills should count as well since the challenge says that the kills can be obtained "in any game mode in Reach." Nothing to worry about though and should be done pretty quick.

Above the Law - Complete a Round in Firefight Matchmaking without dying. - 2000cR
This challenge is one of the main reasons I am suggesting that you play in the standard Firefight playlist. Surviving a round (five waves for those who do not remember) of Firefight can certainly be difficult by yourself so having teammates just makes it easier. You only need to survive the first Round for this challenge, though it is likely that not surviving the first round will make all other rounds not count. Regardless, just aim for the first round. Hang back and stick to ranged weapons but remember to watch your flank. Arcadefight NEP is probably the best playlist for this challenge and I would stick to the larger maps like Beachhead or Glacier where you can hide via the jetpack.
