Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 9/23/12

The Challenges:

Blastin' and Relaxin' - Kill 180 enemies in any game mode in Reach. - 2343cR
Most likely, today, the other challenges will not complete this one for you. If you follow the Nightfall speedrun method for "Harder Than Some," you will get practically not kills for it. "Katanarama" will get you about a hundred and twenty kills while "Go Right Ahead Folks" can get you anywhere from twenty to forty kills. That leaves at about a hundred and forty to a hundred and sixty kills. Forty or twenty short means you are better off jumping back into multiplayer Matchmaking than Firefight. Grifball would be my recommendation because you can score twenty to forty kills in a single ten minute game. Multi Team or Invasion are also a decent options.

Harder Than Some - Complete a Campaign mission on Heroic with Thunderstorm, Famine and Tilt on. - 5000cR
Hey! Who can guess what campaign mission I am going to recommend you play for this challenge? Your options are thus; A.) Nightfall, B.) Nightfall, C.) Nightfall, or D.)WTF is this? If you chose A, B, or C, congrats you win nothing. If you chose D, Hi!, welcome to the site and this is called filler. Now, a speedrun of Nightfall can be done in about seven to ten minutes following the guide here. We need to turn the Thunderstorm (upgraded enemies), Famine (less ammo in picked up weapons), and Tilt (modified damage tables) skulls on but they will not really affect us as we are not picking up weapons and we are running through the level. Make sure you pick Heroic to, or else the challenge will not pop. Should take a single try to complete as you can die as much as you want.

Katanarama - Kill 1 enemies using the Energy Sword in Firefight Matchmaking. - 2000cR
There are two way you can go about securing this one measly sword kill (though it does give you a nice chunk of change) and whichever one you choose is largely up to your preference. You can either load into 2X Score Attack in the Score Attack playlist or you can try for Arcadefight in the standard, four-player Firefight playlist. For Arcadefight, one of the loadout options will be the sword, but you need to actually get the gametype. For 2X Score Attack, the final wave will always be invisible Elite and a few typically have swords. Kill them, pick up on of their swords, and score a kill to finish off this challenge. Should only take a single game to complete.

Go Right Ahead Folks - Earn a First Strike in a multiplayer Matchmaking game. - 2000cR
You would think that, for this challenge, the requirement would be that you score the first kill of the game. That is, however, false. You need to score the first kill of a round to be awarded a First Strike medal; some games just happen to only be one round. Several games do have multiple rounds, however, and those should be our focus. Grifball, Living Dead, 1-flag CTF, Invasion, Assault, the choice is yours on which gametype you want to try for this in. Now, Grifball can have up to five rounds so it is likely your best bet and Living Dead has three rounds always. This will partially be luck so it may take a few games.
