Halo Reach Daily and Weekly Challenges Guide - 9/10/12

The Challenges:
Gunslinger - Kill 75 enemies in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 2250cR
Well, everything is multiplayer today, which is definitely a plus considering this challenge and the "Put Your Quarter Up" challenge. You just need seventy-five kills in multiplayer Matchmaking today but you will be playing at least twelve games. This should also help you get a decent chunk of multikills for the Weekly Challenge, "Multiplicative." As you should be scoring about ten to twelve kills a game, you should have this done well before you play your twelfth games. If you are having trouble with this, load up Grifball or Multi Team and you can rack up a bunch of kills.

Explosive Ordnance Distribution - Earn 7 kills with ordnance weapons in a multiplayer Matchmaking game. - 2400cR
Well, now that Action Sack is gone, this challenge really sucks. The trick will now be to get the right gametype on the right map. You will have to make do with the weapons that are on the map so make sure that you get a map with multiple ordnance weapons. These weapons include the Rocket Launcher, Grenade Launcher, Concussion Rifle, and the Plasma Launcher. Powerhouse is a decent choice as it has the Rocket and Grenade Launcher on the map. Try to get an objective gametype that has multiple rounds as you should get more weapon respawns that way. Even in these circumstances, this will be a hard challenge to get, so be patient and remember that you need to play twelve games anyway.

The Dream Shake - Earn 4 Double Kills in the same match in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 4000cR
For those who do not know, a Double Kill is when you score two kills within four seconds of each other without dying in between. This is the easiest multikill to achieve and you probably get it all the time without actually trying. Getting four, on the other hand, will be slightly more difficult. Now, Grifball is likely the best playlist for this challenge, though Multi Team can also do well. Remember that you need four separate Double Kills, not multi kills, so spread them out so they do not stack. Should take you a single game to complete, two if you happen to get unlucky.

Put Your Quarter Up - Complete 12 games in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 3200cR
I'm not really sure who thought this was a good idea for a weekday, but that person really needs to stop having ideas, because the ones that he/she has are very stupid. So, twelve games today. It honestly does not seem like a lot for a single day, but it actually is once you factor in that most people have work or school. Last week this would have be fine, to be honest. Well, you have challenges like "Explosive Ordnance Distribution" that will likely take some time to finish off but everything else should be done rather quickly. Once the other challenges are done, play faster gametypes like Grifball and SWAT to finish off the day.

The Weekly Challenge:
Multiplicative - Earn 200 Multikills in multiplayer Matchmaking this week. - 25000cR

Well, back to this challenge again. Honestly, these sorts of challenges are easy to accomplish and do not take much time. Now, a multikills is when you score multiple kills within four seconds of each other, without dying, and you can stack this up to ten kills for nine multikills. If you are in the right playlist and gametype, you can really rack up a ton of multikills in very short order. For us, that playlist is Grifball and the gametype is standard or vanilla Grifball. The longer the game, the more multikills you get so do not try to score immediately. You need two hundred over this week so that is about thirty multi kills a day. However, you can likely score much more than that in Grifball and can get this done a few days early. Get to work on it and good luck.

  2. Go to invasion to get the ordnance kills. You can spawn the last third of each round (about 3 min per round, 6 minutes total) with either the grenade launcher if you're a Spartan or the concussion rifle if you're an elite. That sounds like plenty of time, but invasion maps are huge so you have to work quickly.

You can also play invasion slayer, where you play almost the whole second half of a 100 kill game with these options, but it helps to be lucky enough to be place on the elite team, because the concussion rifles are tons easier to get kills with, IMO.

Downside is invasion games are pretty long, so getting your 12 games in would take forever if you did all invasion.

    1. Thanks for pointing that out. I had forgotten those load outs in Invasion. Will definitely be in the guide next time we see this challenge.
