Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 9/11/12

The Challenges:

Blastin' and Relaxin' - Kill 180 enemies in any game mode in Reach. - 2343cR
Well, you will be playing in all the various modes today since you have a challenge in each and every mode. Getting a hundred and eighty kills should not be much of a bother either since all the other challenges should take care of the kills. You will be getting about a hundred to two-hundred kills for the "That Pink Mist" challenge (depends on how good you are with the Needler or Needle Rifle), at least a hundred kills for the "Short, Controlled Bursts" challenge, and then about thirty to forty kills (or more if you lose a lot) for the "Un, Deux, Trois" challenge. All in all, this one seem well taken care of, wouldn't you say?

That Pink Mist - Kill 40 enemies with a Supercombine from the Needler or Needle Rifle in Firefight Matchmaking. - 2200cR
Sparing the get three wins challenge for multiplayer, getting forty Supercombine kills in Firefight Matchmaking might actually be a little bit harder. A Supercombine occurs when you stick enough enemies with needles that the resulting explosion kills them. It has to be the explosion that kills them, not the final needs that trigger the explosion, which is what happens with all grunts unless the Mythic Skull is on. Now, the Firefight playlist is your best bet for this challenge and you will want the gametype Arcadefight NEP as it will allow you to choose a loadout with an FRG and a Needler. These weapons will have unlimited ammunition. Now, this might take two games because you will have three other players to compete with, but expect the kills to start going up once the second round starts as the Mythic Skull will then be on.

Short, Controlled Bursts - Kill 100 enemies with automatic weapons in the Campaign today. - 2500cR
I am actually amazed that we do not see challenges for automatic weapons most often since they are one of the most underutilized weapon types in the game as most stick to precision and power weapons. Now, automatic weapons are the Assault Rifle, Plasma Rifle, Plasma Repeater, Needler, and the Brute Spiker. This are practically available one every mission you play in so you can always find a weapons. The best levels for this challenge are the early ones. I would start with Winter Contingency and just work my way through to ONI: Swordbase. Now, remember that you just need to damage enemies with your automatic weapon and then you can still score the kill if an AI Teammate kills it. Therefore, when you have large groups, spray shots in to them and you can get credit for all of them.

Un, Deux, Trois - Win 3 games in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 2900cR
Well, the winning games challenges have always been a pain for me. I can win games like these normally, but once the challenge is on, either I psych myself out or everyone is playing harder; not sure which. Now, the playlist and gametypes you choose will largely be up to personal preference but here are some tips to help you get through this quicker. Stick to games with only two teams of no more than five players. More teams and more players lowers you chances of winning and makes winning less dependent on your, respectively. Try to play in gametypes that you enjoy. Going for wins is likely not the time to try new playlists or give hated ones a second chance. Play with friends, if possible. You will communicate and anticipate their actions better than strangers. Finally, take breaks. If you get worked up, you will likely play even worse.
