Halo Reach Daily and Weekly Challenges Guide - 10/15/12

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any ideas or comments about the challenges? Post them down below!

The Challenges:

One Spartan Army - Kill 100 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking. - 2000cR
So, the lone Firefight Matchmaking challenge today is just to get kills. Nothing really ground-breaking about this or unexpected, so do not expect any sort of surprise. Now, you can pretty much play whatever playlist and gametype you want for this one as any will really get it done. However, the easiest playlists are Score Attack with the Gruntpocalypse and 2X Score Attack gametypes and Firefight with the Arcadefight gametype. Either one will get this done, though Arcadefight may cut it a little close.

Cannon Fodder - Kill 100 infantry-class foes in the Campaign today. - 2250cR
The weird thing about these challenges, that I have noticed (and this very well may have changed with some recent update) but when they say infantry-class, they mean Grunts. Other Covenant races have infantry class troops, but I do not tend to see them count for these challenges. Regardless, work on this challenge while doing "Short, Controlled Bursts" by making sure you put shots into every Grunt you see and all other enemies. A hundred kills may take a while so do not be surprised if you are still working on this when advancing to the second mission, ONI: Swordbase.

Short, Controlled Bursts - Kill 100 enemies with automatic weapons in the Campaign today. - 2500cR
Sparing the Weekly Challenge, this one will actually take the longest of any today, since automatic weapons are so underpowered in Reach. Thankfully, you can get this done in conjunction with the "Cannon Fodder" challenge, and will probably have them completed decently close to each other. Now, automatic weapons in Reach include the AR, Plasma Rifle, Plasma Repeater, the Needler, and the Brute Spiker. You are best of just starting on Winter Contingency and working your way through until the challenge is completed. Remember that if you just injure an enemy with an automatic weapon and then an AI Teammate scores the kill, it will still count for you though. This will take well into ONI: Swordbase to complete.

Oops! All Kills - Earn 7 Multikills in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 2400cR
With the right playlist, you can easily complete this challenge in a single game. That playlist is Grifball and the strategy, well, just hammer people really. A multikill occurs when you score multiple kills within four seconds of each other, and this can be stacked up to ten kills for nine multikills. These multikills do not need to be done in a single game, but it is entirely possibly with Grifball as you can probably get fifteen to twenty in a single game. Multi Team is another option, along with Invasion and Big Team Battle if you can get in the heavy vehicles. Regardless, likely done in a single game.

The Weekly Challenge:
The Pillar of Autumn: LASO - Complete The Pillar of Autumn, Legendary, All Skulls On (LASO). - 17777cR

Ahh, the return of LASO (Legendary, All Skulls On) challenges just three weeks before the launch of Halo 4. I would not be surprised if we saw this a LASO challenge at least once more before then, actually. The Pillar of Autumn is one of the harder mission and will likely end up pissing you off immensely. Follow the guide here and get ready for a lot of work. Now, my guide and videos have the Blind Skull on, which is likely not required for this challenge, but it isn't true LASO without that. As well, the guide is meant for a solo run and not all strategies may work with a group. Have patience with this and do not hesitate to Save and Quit quickly before you die so you can make it through the level.
