Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 10/16/12

The Challenges:

Light Fare - Kill 100 enemies in any game mode in Reach. - 3000cR
So, you really just need to look below to see why I am not writing much for this challenge. It is taken care of, for sure, by the "Take a Dip" challenge which is asking you to score a thousand kills in Firefight Matchmaking. Getting that done will take care of this challenge, guaranteed as these kill can be gained in any mode of Halo Reach. Move on to a different challenge now.

Take a Dip - Kill 1000 enemies on Waterfront in Firefight Matchmaking. - 3000cR
Well, a thousand enemies is a lot to hit in a single day. You can get a hundred to a hundred and twenty kills per game, depending on the playlist and gametype, which means you will need to play nine to ten games to complete this challenge. It sucks that the map is Waterfront, but it is passable. Now, the playlist you choose is entirely up to you, but Score Attack is your best bet as you have complete control over the map chosen and you also get more kills. Gruntpocalypse and 2X Score Attack are the preferred gametypes and will get you a hundred and twenty kills per game. I would stay away from the Firefight playlist as you have little control over the map and gametype picked. Again, expect this to take nine to ten games to complete.

Legendary Friends - Complete any Campaign mission on Legendary in co-op mode. - 10000cR

Co-operative challenges are always interesting, perhaps just for the fact that we hardly ever see them placed into our queue. The question is whether you want to play through a mission co-operatively from start to finish or whether you want to speed-run through a mission with an extra controller and just get it done. If you are going to actually play a mission, Winter Contingency is a great idea as it is, really, the easiest mission to play through, especially on Legendary. If you are just planning on running through with an extra controller on, go for a speedrun of Nightfall which can be complete in under ten minutes. Guide to speedrunning can be found right here.  Complete the Weekly Challenge with a friend will also get this challenge done.

Credits for Completion - Complete 4 games in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 2400cR
We seem to be getting a lot of these challenges recently to just win games as they seem to be straying away from the "Win X games in multiplayer Matchmaking." challenges they used to love so much. On the whole, challenges will likely get easier up until Halo 4 releases. Now, you can play whatever game mode you want as there are no other multiplayer Matchmaking challenges. You just need to complete four games which means you cannot be kicked, disconnected, or quit the game for it to count. You must play from start to finish to complete games for this challenge so just be mindful of betraying teammates and the like. Four games should take less than an hour to finish up, so just play gametypes you enjoy.

  1. Any tips on the weekly challenge? Specifically, I'm having trouble getting past the three elites in the first smelting room without having the two hunters in the next room spawn, did this get patched?

    1. You have to be very careful about killing any of the Elites there.
