Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 10/3/12

The Challenges:
Blastin' and Relaxin' - Kill 180 enemies in any game mode in Reach. - 2343cR
So, the other daily challenges will likely complete this challenge for you. Well, let me rephrase. One of the daily challenges will take care of these a hundred and eighty kills you are being asked to acquire in any game mode in Reach. If you are at all unsure, that challenge is "Flat Tire", unfortunately. Flat Tire will have you playing at least two games of Firefight Matchmaking in the Score Attack playlist, if you follow my method, which will generate about two-hundred and forty kills. You may even need a third game for the challenge but, regardless, this challenge will be taken care of.

Flat Tire - Kill 5 enemy vehicles in Firefight Matchmaking. - 2000cR
This challenge is typically a dreaded one due to needing to get the right gametypes on the right map and that is, unfortunately still the case. The best way to complete this challenge now is to play in the Score Attack playlist and aim for the map Holdout. For gametypes, you will want Sniper Attack, Rocket Attack, or FRG Attack (Sniper is the best for this, however) but do not play 2X Score Attack, as kills in that gametype rarely count. Holdout has static Banshee spawns which tend to bring out a Banshee every two and a half to four and a half minutes, which means you can see up to five Banshee spawns a game or as little as two. The trick is to make the game last as long as possible, so kite around the final enemy if necessary. Expect this to take two to three games to complete.

Mythic Busting - Complete a Campaign mission on Heroic or harder with the Mythic Skull on. - 1000cR
It is a little odd, seeing this challenge with so low a credit value. Okay, they likely do know that everyone doing it is speedrunning through Nightfall, but this does kind of screw over the people who play through a full mission at the normal pace. Anyway, the preferred method is still to speedrun through Nightfall, so no worries there. A guide to speedrunning through Nightfall can be found right here. The Mythic skull will upgrade enemies, but that will not be much of a concern as we will be skipping practically all the enemies. Just be careful and have patience with the forklift, it can be very trying. Expect the speedrun to take seven to ten minutes, although some one completed in under five last time we had a challenge like this (Nice job Jason!).

Sticky Icky Icky - Earn 5 sticky grenade Kills in a multiplayer Matchmaking game. - 2400cR
I feel like we have not had a sticky grenade challenge in a while, but I think we have. Don't know why I feel that way. Anywho, this will likely be a challenge for many since you need to score five sticky grenade kills in a single game, not over the entire day, which means that you must receive the grenade stick medal for the kill. Five in a game is a little tough though, especially since Plasma Grenades (stickies) are not overly abundant anywhere. The key is to have the right gametype. For us, this will be Multi Team and, more specifically, the Elite Slayer gametype. Elite Slayer is perfect for this challenge since, every time you spawn, you will get a plasma grenade to use. Though, everyone else will as well and people will be using armor lock so expect this to take two or even three tries to accomplish.

  1. Installation 04, also has some Banshee spawns; and if you play Sniper Attack, wait at the spawn point of the game for a grunt to get on the turret and destroy the turret while he's shooting and that will count as a vehicle kill as well. Saying that I still prefer Holdout, but sometimes it seems like I never get that map option and when I do I don't get any game type that vehicle kills count.
