The Challenges:
Covenant-cide - Kill 120 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking. - 3200cR
As you would expect, you will be in all the various modes today to complete these challenges. First off, you are asked to score a hundred and twenty kills in Firefight Matchmaking. Now, this is the lone Firefight challenge for today and it is right at the typical level of kills for a single game. This also means that you need to stick to specific gametypes and playlists to get this done in a single game. The playlist you will need to be in is the Score Attack playlist. Gametype wise, you will want to hit up 2X Score Attack or Gruntpocalypse. Either one will get you about a hundred and twenty kills in a single game.
Throwing Fireballs - Kill 2 enemies with grenades in a multiplayer Matchmaking game. - 1000cR
So, we pretty much had this challenge yesterday but it was asking us to score four grenade kills, I believe. Allow me to repeat myself: Grenades in the Reach multiplayer come in two varieties, Plasma and Fragmentation, and are readily available on practically any map. If you can, go for objective gametypes on Multi Team as those will give you a zone into which you can just toss grenades and likely score some kills. Crazy King is really good for this. You are not limited to Multi Team here as you can also try Invasion for some easy grenade kills too. Two in a single game is pretty easy since they do not all have to be grenade sticks or anything too crazy.
Close Talking - Earn 40 kills with close quarters combat in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 2600cR
Well, close quarters combat kills are actually extremely easy to come by in multiplayer Matchmaking thanks to a particular playlist. First off, close quarters combat kills in Reach are typically made with the Energy Sword, Gravity Hammer, Shotgun, Melee, or Assassination. Grifball is the best playlist as pretty much every kill you make will be close quarters combat. For this challenge, Grifball is pretty much the mayday solution if you are having a really bad day and just cannot score kills. Forty kills will likely take about two to three games to complete, more if you are having an off day.
Deathless Package - Complete The Package on Legendary without dying. - 4400cR
So, this challenge is not necessarily hard, but just time consuming. The Package is the penultimate full mission of Halo Reach in which you travel to Halsey and get the fragment of Cortana. It is a long mission due to the Firefight like sequence near the end. The trick for this is that you can die as much as you want, it does not matter. We will end up tricking the game into thinking that you played the whole time without dying. Die as much as you want until completing the final objective, which is entering the labs after the Firefight sequence. Save and Quit the game. Then Resume campaign and complete the final objective without dying. You get the credits and a lot less of the hassle.
