The Challenges:
I Am The 99 Percent - Kill 100 Elites. - 2500 XP
We are in a transition week for Spartan Ops as there are no new Episodes for a few weeks as they are taking a mid-season break. This leaves us with a "Best of" selection in Spartan Ops Matchmaking with a mission from each episode. These guides will be based off of those mission. First off is scoring a hundred Elite kills. Now, the best mission for this is the Episode four mission "Shootout in Valhalla." There are a ton of Elites that are dropped and, as well, every Banshee and Wraith gives you a Elite kill as well. On Heroic, a single solo game brought in fifty Elite kill. Play this level twice and this challenge is all taken care of.
Cut Off The Hand - Kill 10 Elites in a single Spartan Ops mission. - 2500 XP
Well, this challenge is taken care of by the "I Am The 99 Percent" challenge if you are curious. You need to kill ten Elites in a single game, which is a piece of cake. Any chapter you play that has Elite will likely have more than ten. Now, if you are doing Co-operative play, this will be a tad bit close as compared to a solo game. Again, "Shootout In Valhalla" from Episode four will likely be your best bet as it has fifty or more Elites to kills. Otherwise, let your teammates know and hopefully they cut you some slack and let you get the kills. Otherwise, just load it up solo and be done with it.
Destroyer of Grunts - Kill 100 Grunts. - 1100 XP
Interestingly enough, there are not a whole lot of Grunts to kill in some of these "Best Of" chapter as compared to other enemies. Elites were easier to find than Grunts. A playthrough of all the chapters in matchmaking solo will get you a hundred Grunt kills no problem. "The Core" in Episode one and "Spartan Miller" in Episode two gave me the most Grunt kills with "Shootout in Valhalla" of Episode four coming in third place. Remember that, for Grunts, a simple headshot is all it takes to score a kill. Prioritize your shots and go for Grunts with Fuel Rods and a Needlers first. Replay the aforementioned Chapters to get the kills a little faster.

ReplyDeleteJust wanted to let you know that you can get Spartan Ops challenges on Easy difficulty. Load up "Shoot out in Valhalla," get in a ghost, and splatter. It's fun, passes the time quickly and they don't even try to avoid getting splattered for the most part.
Where is the challenge in that? Going for multikills, I guess?

ReplyDeleteThere is no difficulty challenge in that. I was just using an example of how to get the challenges easy using your preferred level "Shootout in Valhalla." Just wanted to let people know, that for ALL future Spartan Ops challenges, especially ones that may be time consuming, you can do them solo on Easy. Running over grunts/elites is fun for a change of pace, that's all I meant.
Besides, isn't the whole point of this blog how to most easily get the daily/weekly/monthly challenges completed? If you need to grind a certain amount of specific kills in Spartan Ops, go for the Easy difficulty. You didn't tell people to go for getting the perfection daily challenge by going into SWAT, even though there definitely be a "challenge in that," right? Same thing with Spartan Ops. Again, I was just pointing out that running over enemies with the ghost in "Shootout in Valhalla" is fun.
In the end, no harm, no foul.

DeleteLOL, I'm just full of replies. I was right, but I read the wrong challenge (the grunt one) when "correcting" myself. For elite kills, definitely do "Shootout in Valhalla."
DeleteYou can delete all of this cluttery crap of mine if you want, but you should still let your readers know, that if you just want to get through the Spartan Ops challenges quickly, you can load up the missions solo on Easy.
