The Challenges:
I Am The 99 Percent - Kill 40 Elites. - 6000 XP
Since there are no new seasons of Spartan Ops apparently even planned (then why the fuck do you call it "Season One"?) 343i has started replaying the various episodes in matchmaking from start to finish. Disregard those, however, since it is faster if you avoid matchmaking. First off, you will need to see about scoring fifty Elite kills. Now, the best mission for this is the Episode three mission "Shootout in Valhalla." There are a ton of Elites that are dropped and, as well, every Banshee and Wraith gives you a Elite kill as well. On Heroic, a single solo game brought in fifty Elite kill. Play through it once will completely take care of this challenge for you.

The Challenges:
Harvesting Hunters - Kill 25 Hunters. - 10000 XP
Well, Hunters are not the hardest enemies you will face, since the strategy on them is so damn easy. It is interesting to see that this XP value used to suffice for two-hundred and fifty hunters is eight-thousand credits, but twenty-five hunters brings in ten-thousand. Now, remember that the back is the weak spot on a Hunter so put as many shots as you can into that area but do not be afraid to just nail one with heavy weapons. Since we are not getting any new Episodes for the foreseeable future, they are simply playing through the first season again. Ignore their little play-through, however. Episode Three, Chapter Four is Shootout in Valhalla and this level has about thirty Hunters in it. A single playthrough, solo, on whatever difficulty you like will complete this challenge.

The Challenges:
Creeping 'N Crawling - Kill 350 Crawlers. - 7500 XP
I didn't really mind Crawlers in campaign. In Spartan Ops, however, they are a different issue entirely. This challenge, asking you to slay eighty Crawlers will actually take a while if you are not in the right Chapter. Crawlers are typically easy kills, especially on Easy if you prefer it, by way of a simple headshot or multiple melees. Do look out for the ones equipped with a Binary Cannon, however, as they can one shot you on higher difficulties. Now, this best of selection does not really have any levels that have a high amount of Crawlers. Instead, I would suggest play Episode Nine, Chapter Five "Hammer." This chapter has eighty-three Crawlers for you to slay so play it about six times to finish off this challenge. If you would like to enter matchmaking, then your best option is Episode Ten, Chapter Five "Try It Again" which has thirty Crawlers.

On Heroic, a single solo game brought in fifty Elite kill. That seems to be exactly what is needed for this challenge so do one playthrough and you are all set..

Well, I am sad to see the XP rewards for these challenges going down and the kill requirements going up. Guess it was going to happen eventually, however. Anyway, I hate Jackals. Well, at least on the higher difficulties as they can kill you in basically two shots if they have Beam Rifles. Ones carrying Needlers are a pain too but are more easily avoided. As well, remember that Jackals with shields can be made vulnerable if you shoot the notch in their shields. Now, none of the "Designer's Choice" chapters really have enough Jackals to sate this challenge but there are some chapters from previous Episodes that do. Namely, I am talking about Episode Seven, Chapter Three. This chapter features almost seventy Jackals. Set the difficulty a little lower and do four solo play-throughs to finish off this challenge.

The Challenges:
Watchful Avenger - Kill 60 Watchers. - 20000 XP
Watchers are probably the most annoying enemies in Halo 4 and the ones that you also need to focus on and kill immediately as they can summon Crawlers and resurrect Knights. You always need to aim for the center portion of a Watcher as the rotors hardly take any damage when hit. As well, they will flee after a few shots so make sure they are in a generally open space if you are attacking them on the higher difficulties. In Episode Ten, you can score a large amount of Watcher kills due to the chapters being generally full of Promethean enemies. Chapter Two has nineteen Watchers to kills while Chapter Four has twenty-eight. Replay Chapter Four to finish this one off.

I see this challenge has shrunk a bit from the last time we saw it. Before we needed forty Elite kills. Now, that is paired down a little. Now, the objective is to score forty Elite kills. Now, the best mission for this is the Episode three mission "Shootout in Valhalla." There are a ton of Elites that are dropped and, as well, every Banshee and Wraith gives you a Elite kill as well. On Heroic, a single solo game brought in fifty Elite kill. Play this level twice and this challenge is all taken care of. I would not recommend co-op for these challenges, as it will then take even longer to complete.

So I have no clue when the newest season of Spartan Ops will come about but my gut instinct is "no time soon". So, this leaves us with a "Best of" selection in Spartan Ops Matchmaking with a mission from the more recent Episodes. These guides will be based off of those mission. First off is scoring a forty Elite kills. Now, the best mission for this is the Episode three mission "Shootout in Valhalla." There are a ton of Elites that are dropped and, as well, every Banshee and Wraith gives you a Elite kill as well. On Heroic, a single solo game brought in fifty Elite kill. Play this level twice and this challenge is all taken care of.

The Challenges:

Not really much different, although we finally do get into some more interesting portions of the newer play spaces and see an end to this, pretty much, poorly done story. This challenge, asking you to slay eighty Crawlers will actually take the longest of all these three. Crawlers are typically easy kills, especially on Easy if you prefer it, by way of a simple headshot or multiple melees. Do look out for the ones equipped with a Binary Cannon, however, as they can one shot you on higher difficulties. Chapter One of Episode Ten has absolutely zero Crawlers for you to kills but Chapter two has eighteen. Chapter Three is back to having zero but Chapter Four picks it up with thirty Crawlers. Finally, Chapter Five has another thirty Crawlers to finish off this challenge. Hit Chapter Four or Five if you fall short due to co-op play.

The Challenges:
Harvesting Hunters - Kill 5 Hunters. - 20000 XP
You have got to love how these Weekly Challenge are still worth a crap-ton of experience points even though they are getting slightly easier each week. Five Hunters, compared to other weeks when they wanted ten or more, is pretty much a walk in the park. Now, remember that the back is the weak spot on a Hunter so put as many shots as you can into that area. Episode Five is the new content this week and you will find a decent number of Hunters in it. Chapters One and Two both boasted two Hunters while Chapters Three and Five had none to speak of. Chapter Four, however, had a healthy dose of six Hunters. If you somehow fall short, undoubtedly from playing Co-Op, head to Chapter Four to finish it off.

The Challenges:
I Am The 99 Percent - Kill 40 Elites. - 20000 XP
Well, I think it was a miss-step to pair these down to two challenges instead of three, but there were getting repetitive. There could easily be some weapon based or survival based challenges, but I don't know if the tracking in the game will really allow that. Now, Elites in Halo 4 are very, very tough enemies and can wipe the floor with you on Heroic or Legendary. The trick is to keep them at extreme range and to use precision weapons to take them out. If you play Chapter One of Episode Eight solo, you will bring in thirty-nine Elites kills, one short of what is needed for this challenge, while Chapter five has forty-one Elites, one more than what is needed. Chapter Three brings in another thirty-five kills making it a good back up. Chapter Four had about twenty-eight and Chapter two had thirteen. If you need more kills, head to Chapter One or Five.

The Challenges:
Shield Break - Kill 50 Jackals. - 10000 XP
Well, for once, Jackals are not hard to find in an episode of Spartan Ops. In fact, this episode is crawling with the little bastards. Always be wary or ranged Jackals and ones with Needlers as they will destroy you pretty fast. You do not even need to play through the entire episode to hit the fifty Jackal kills needed for this challenge. Chapter One got me twenty-one Jackal kills, Chapter Two got me fifty-eight Jackal kills, Chapter Three brought in seventy-six Jackal kills, Chapter Four gave sixty, and Chapter Five gave sixteen. Once Season One of Spartan Ops is over and we are in another predictable lull, this will be the best episode for completing these challenges.

The Challenges:
Shield Break! - Kill 70 Jackals. - 1500 XP
Oh, look. New Spartan Ops missions for Episode six. Well, it actually is a welcome sight as we have new set pieces to play in and actually get to more interesting parts of the Spartan Op's inaugural season's storyline. Now, the challenges are pretty simplistic, as they always are for Spartan Ops and they will generally be completed within the first three chapters is you play solo. This challenge, asking for seventy Jackal kills, was actually the last one that I completed. Jackals are typically hard to come by but there first two levels have a bunch of them (Chapter One had forty something by my count). They are more sparse in Chapter Three, but there are some there to snag. Replay the first two mission if you run short due to having teammates.

Basically, any Spartan Ops mission that takes place in Sniper Alley is a good option as long as you are fighting Covies and not Prometheans. I would complete the other two challenges first and get what Jackals you can from them and then move onto this challenge. As well, "The Didact's Gift" (Chapter five, Episode Four) has a large number of Jackals but less than seventy, for sure. Regardless, this challenge will take at least two games or more to complete.
