The Challenges:
One Spartan Army - Kill 150 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking. - 2250cR
This challenge will, unfortunately, require two games of Firefight Matchmaking to complete. A typical game in the Score Attack playlist will get you about a hundred and twenty kills which lands you just short of your goal. You should at least play a single game of 2X Score Attack for the Katanarama challenge but the second game would probably be best as Crashsite where you can get the kills you need and then die or the let generator explode the end the game legitimately.

Participation Counts - Complete 4 games in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 2400cR
This is, technically, the easiest challenge of the day. You will need to playthrough four games from start to finish. If you get booted, disconnected, or quit from any game, it will not count towards this challenge so you must play from start to finish. Four is not a whole lot but all the other challenges are in different gameplay modes today so you will need to go out of your way for this one.

Katanarama - Kill 1 enemies using the Energy Sword in Firefight Matchmaking. - 2000cR
Well, you have two ways to go about this challenge. One of them, in my opinion, is a hell of a lot easier than the other. Now, if you go for 2X Score Attack in the Score Attack playlist, the final wave will be about twenty Elites and some of them will have swords. Kill one of them, pick up their Sword, and score a kill. The other option is to hope for Arcadefight in the standard Firefight playlist but that is also dependant on your three teammates. First option is easiest.

Return of the Mack - Kill 35 Elites in Campaign today on Normal or harder. - 3000cR
Elites are the hardest enemies that you will face in Campaign but they are neither rare nor plentiful in the game. The best mission to find them on is ONI: Swordbase, the second level of the campaign. Play on Heroic so AI teammates are not stealing your kills. As well, remember that as long as you damage the Elite, an AI teammate can get the kill and it will still count as yours. One playthrough on ONI should net you near thirty-five Elite kills.
