Halo Reach Daily and Weekly Challenges Guide - 1/14/13

The Challenges:
Gunslinger - Kill 75 enemies in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 2250cR
All in all, the other challenges today will likely not get you to the seventy-five kills needed for this challenge. "Showtime" time will maybe get you about twenty or thirty kills and "A Solid Outing" will likely add nothing to that number as it will already be taken care of. This means you will need to play some extra games to hit this challenge. Grifball is the easiest playlist in which to score kills so I will recommend that. Have fun.

Showtime - Earn 5 assists in a multiplayer Matchmaking game. - 1250cR
An assist is earned when you deal forty percent damage to an enemy who is killed by someone else. Typically, you would think that this person stole your kill. Now, Multi Team has always been a good place to score assists since there are so many targets and so many people to steal the kills from you. If Multi Team is not your cup of tea than I would recommend heading to Team Objective or just FFA or Team Slayer. The choice is yours so figure out what works best for you. It will likely take a game or two but you should have no problem hitting the five assists.

Just Hold On... - Complete 15 Rounds in Firefight Matchmaking without dying. - 2000cR
This is actually, I believe, a new challenge. I cannot remember having seen this but it is challenging. To even play fifteen rounds today you will need to play five games in the standard Firefight playlist. Knowing how most "Complete X rounds without dying" challenges go, if you die in one round, that will make all subsequent rounds not count towards the challenge. So, if you are going to die, die late in the game. This will take a lot of games and is likely not worth the two-thousand credits it gives, but it is doable. Probably take about seven or eight matches of Firefight Matchmaking to complete.

A Solid Outing - Earn at least 12 kills in a multiplayer Matchmaking game. - 2300cR
Typically, you should be hitting around twelve to thirteen kills a game in any team-based Slayer game. Objective games should bring that per-game kill count higher as long as the games are not over very quick and the teams are evenly matched. You really should not need to go out of your way for this one, just complete the other challenges and you are most likely all set. If you are really having trouble, head to Grifball.

The Weekly Challenge:
Ride the Wave - Complete 100 Waves in Firefight Matchmaking. - 8000cR

So, this is an extremely easy challenge. Firefight matches are typically divided into Sets, Rounds, and Waves. There are five Waves in a Round, and three Rounds in a set. A game in the Score Attack playlist will typically be one Round. A game in the standard Firefight playlist will be a Set, plus a Bonus Round that is a single wave. This means that a game in the standard Firefight playlist, if completed, will give you sixteen waves towards this challenge. This challenge will be complete in about seven or eight games (probably will not complete all of the games). Arcadefight is the best option for this and picking a small map will speed it all up.
