Halo 4 War Games Daily and Weekly Challenges - 1/21/13

The Challenges:
Deadeye - Kill 12 Players with a headshot. - 1350 XP
To score a headshot in War Games, you will need a headshot capable weapon. In Halo 4, these include the DMR (Designated Marksman Rifle), the BR (Battle Rifle), the Magnum Pistol, the Sniper Rifle, the Covenant Carbine, the Beam Rifle, the Light Rifle, and the Binary Cannon. The easiest way to score these headshots will be in a gametype like SWAT where almost all of the kills are headshots. You do not need twelve in a single game so you can just play normally while you amass these headshots since you need to score nine Slayer Matchmaking games today along with a bunch of Dominion games as well. This will easily get taken care of.

We Are the Champions - Win 9 matchmaking Slayer matches. - 2750 XP
So, this would not typically surprise me too much, but they are keeping up with the "Win 40+/- games" of a random gametype for one of the Weekly challenges which makes this one suck. Slayer gametypes are in the Big Team Infinity Slayer, Infinity Slayer, SWAT, and the Crimson DLC playlist. Join-session-in-progress games will count for this challenge if you win them so you will hopefully get lucky and placed on some winning teams. Personally, I prefer the gametypes with smaller teams since that gives me more control and better chance of being on the winning team. Free-for-all is something that I would straight out avoid. Expect that this may take up to eighteen games to complete.

The Weekly Challenges:
That's Just Perfect - Complete a War Games match with at least 15 kills without dying. - 6950 XP
I see this challenge has graduated. Instead of just being a Daily Challenge, it is now a Weekly and gives us a bunch more experience points, which I am okay with. Still, this will be a complete and utter pain to accomplish. On the bright side, this is unlike a perfection in Reach where you also needed to win the game. Now, you will likely want a large gametype, like Dominion, where you can hang back and just get kills. Small maps do not afford you enough room to hide once you hit the fifteen required kills. You will also need teammates that will give you a lot of opportunities to yank their kills and who will protect you once you need to hide. Unfortunately, do not expect to complete this challenge today unless you get extremely lucky.

Dominator - Win 40 matchmaking Dominion matches. - 4750 XP
They seems to have decided to continue this trend again today, since winning the game is the most important thing in the minds of 343i, not just to have fun. Expect this to take a good portion of the week to complete. Regardless, Dominion is a gametype where there are three bases which you can capture and holding them for a certain amount of time gives you points. The first team to four-hundred points wins. Having a team that knows that maps and how to hold the bases is a must for this gametypes. If you have a lot of back and forth, the game will go on longer than it needs to. Now, you can also capture all the bases and then, if you kill the entire other team, the game will end with your victory. Forty wins over a week means six a day but I would get some done early if I were you, since you will no doubt need to score wins in other modes as well.
