Halo Reach Daily and Weekly Challenges Guide - 4/1/13

The Challenges:
Shootin' and Lootin' - Kill 250 enemies in any game mode in Reach - 3800cR
Well, most likely these two-hundred and fifty kills will get taken care of by the other challenges today. The "Explosive Ordnance Distribution" will get you about twenty or so kills, maybe thirty, depending on how many games it takes you to complete. The "Iron Will" challenge will likely not many kills, maybe ten to fifteen at most. Finally, the "Survivor" challenge will net you a hundred and twenty kills but it will also be part of the Weekly Challenge, which is liable to bring in about three hundred to four hundred kills. So, work on the Weekly Challenge and this one is taken care of.

Explosive Ordnance Distribution - Earn 5 kills with ordnance weapons in a multiplayer Matchmaking game. - 1250cR
Explosive Ordnance Weapons in Reach include the Rocket Launcher, Grenade Launcher, the Concussion Rifle, and the Plasma Launcher. These weapons are not easy to find anymore since the Action Sack playlist was taken down. Now, your best chance is the third phase of the Invasion gametype in which you will have access to either the Concussion Rifle or the Grenade Launcher. You will have two chances at this if the game is pretty even and you only need five kills in a single game. I would expect this challenge to take multiple tried and you might want to attempt Invasion Slayer as well.

Survivor - Earn 5 Sprees in a Firefight Matchmaking game. - 2000cR
A spree in Firefight Matchmaking is earned when you score ten kills in a row without dying. You can get up to five sprees, just what you need for this challenge, by scoring fifty kills without dying. You should be scoring these quite easily so this challenge should take little time to complete. This challenge does not stipulate just Killing Sprees so weapon and other miscellaneous sprees will also count. How you get these sprees is entirely up to you but I would suggest working on the Weekly Challenge first as you will be playing a bunch of Firefight Matchmaking games for it.

Iron Will - Complete a Campaign mission alone on Heroic or harder with the Iron Skull on. - 2500cR
Most people will see the two campaign challenges today and will think to do them at the same time. This time, they are definitely right. Since you only need to be on "Heroic" for both challenges, and the skulls are relatively minor, these are basically free credits. The Iron skull will cause any death to restart the level, if solo, or reverting to the last checkpoint, if playing co-op. A guide to running through the level can be found right here. If speed-running Nightfall is not your cup of tea then playing through Winter Contingency is your best and fastest bet as it is the easiest mission besides Nightfall but still do both challenges at once.

The Weekly Challenge:
Like a Record, Baby - Complete 100 Rounds in Firefight Matchmaking. - 20000cR

Been a while since I remember us having this challenge. This will be challenging, however, have no doubts about it. First off, a typical Firefight game (in the Firefight Playlist) is a single set. A set is made up of three rounds, which are individually made up of five waves. Now, try to get a full team of four to make sure that you do hit and complete a full set every game. Over seven days, this means you need to get fifteen rounds per day, which is five Firefight Matchmaking games. Again, this will be tough and time consuming. If you have time now, play what Firefight you can. As well, stay away from Score Attack. This would take a hundred games to complete.
