Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 4/20/13

The Challenges:
Covenant-cide - Kill 120 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking. - 3200cR
Well, all of these challenge will pretty much take care of this one today. The "Came From Behind" challenge will not add much but the other two challenges will. First off is the "There Are Many Like..." challenge which will, at minimum, get you two-hundred kills and probably more. Secondly, we have the "Who's the Big Winner?" challenge. This one will get you probably several hundred kills as well. Regardless, not extra work will be required to complete this challenge today.

Came From Behind - Perform 2 Assassinations in a multiplayer Matchmaking game. - 2200cR
To score an assassination in multiplayer Matchmaking you need to get behind an enemy and hold down the melee button. Doing so will trigger an animation that needs to mostly complete for the assassination to count. Now, scoring two in a single game can be meagerly challenging so head to the Team Snipers playlist. In Teams Snipers, players tend to lose focus and can be easily flanked, especially on small maps. Assassination on inclines and in the hair occur quicker so aim for those if you are getting "Showstopped" often. This will likely not happen while working on the other challenges so go for this one first.

There Are Many Like... - Kill 200 enemies with precision weapons in the Campaign today. - 3000cR
Precision weapons in Reach include the DMR (Designated Marksman Rifle), the Sniper Rifle, the Needle Rifle, and the Focus Beam Rifle. The easiest and quickest access to these is the start of ONI: Swordbase where your are immediately equipped with a DMR. Playing through the level on Heroic will allow you to not have all your kills stolen but still have a not too difficult time getting the kills Remember that as long as you damage an enemy, AI teammates taking the kills will still count as yours. Two hundred kills will take a while so expect to have to play through a few levels, probably past Nightfall into Tip of the Spear, to complete this challenge.

Who's the Big Winner? - Win 12 games in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 10000cR
Well, this is better than when we used to have this challenge plus it is now worth a hell of a lot more credits. It is, however, twelve wins, which is a lot. Well, scoring wins will all be about playing to your strengths and sticking to gametypes with only two teams of no more than five players. If you are really good at Slayer, than stick to Slayer. If objective gametypes are your thing, play those. There is no set strategy for scoring a win in Halo as it is highly dependent on your team and your competition. Just try to have fun and take breaks, a lot of breaks. Get the other challenges done first and then worry about this one.

  1. Hmm... Correct me if I'm wrong, but the first one says firefight matchmaking, so none of the other challenges will help that? Not that it's very difficult challenge anyway since a single gruntpocalypse will take care of the 120 kills.

    1. Yup, I read that wrong or just was not thinking. My fault.
