The Challenges:
Covenant-cide - Kill 120 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking. - 3200cR
Well, you will be in all the main modes of Reach today for the challenges. This one, however, is focused on Firefight Matchmaking along with the "Survivor" challenge. Luckily enough, you should not need to worry about this one thanks to that "Survivor" challenge. It will have you scoring nine sprees in a single game. The typical number of kills that you will get in a game is a hundred and twenty, which is right at what is required for this challenge. Now, I would go with Gruntpocalypse on a large map like Beachhead or Glacier so you can score all of the kills and have one of the Grunts kill themselves.
Survivor - Earn 9 Sprees in a Firefight Matchmaking game. - 2000cR
A spree in Firefight Matchmaking is earned when you score ten kills in a row without dying. You can get up to five sprees, four short of what you need for this challenge, by scoring fifty kills without dying. You should be scoring these quite easily so this challenge should take little time to complete. This challenge does not stipulate just Killing Sprees so weapon and other miscellaneous sprees will also count. Once you hit fifty kills I would just die so you can start those sprees over and have this done in no time flat. 2X Score Attack and Gruntpocalypse are the preferred gametypes for this challenge.
Pod Kettle Black - Kill 15 Elite Drop Pods in The Long Night of Solace. - 2343cR
Now, the Drop Pods this challenge refers to are not the ones at the beginning of the game but the ones that are dropping from the corvette, The Long Night of Solace. It drops an unlimited number of these so do not worry if you miss some. To get to it, load up Long Night of Solace on Normal or Heroic from Rally Point Alpha and progress to the Corvette. I would clear everything and then attempt to get the Drop Pod kills once you are supposed to board the vessel. Go below the corvette and you can see about eight Drop Pods shoot out every twenty or so seconds. You just need to kills fifteen of them. Best way I found was to fly up towards them and shoot them as they launch. Once they are a little ways away, they are practically invulnerable.
The Love of the Game - Complete 20 games in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 4200cR
So you know how we had that extremely dickish challenge yesterday asking us to score fifteen wins in multiplayer Matchmaking? Well, this challenge is it's equally dickish and equally ugly cousin. Twenty games in a single day. They are away they Spring Break has yet to start for basically anyone, right? Insane. Now, Grifball and Living Dead are typically the fastest, especially Grifball if you have a good team who can score quickly. You only need to score three times to win so you can end the game pretty quickly. Remember that if you quit, disconnect, or are booted from games, they will not count towards this challenge so be careful. Take breaks with this one and just try to have fun.
