The Challenges:
Blastin' and Relaxin' - Kill 180 enemies in any game mode in Reach. - 2343cR
Well, a hundred and eighty kills today will definitely get taken care of by the other challenges as they will have you in every single mode of Reach. The "Heroic Court" challenge will get you about two-hundred and forty kills, the "Pod Kettle Black" challenge will get you probably sixty or so kills, and the "Go Right Ahead Folks" challenge will probably bring in about twenty to thirty kills. All in all, that is well over the a hundred and eighty kills needed to complete this challenge. Have fun today, I'm going back to working on some Bioshock Infinite guides.
Heroic Court - Kill 150 enemies on Overlook on Heroic in Firefight Matchmaking. - 1125cR
I'm just now realizing, this should really be the challenge name for Courtyard, not Overlook. Wonder what happened there. Anyway, this is the lone Firefight Matchmaking challenge for today and will likely take you very little time to complete. Overlook is a mediocre map but playable with the right gametype. All though it can be annoying solo, your best bet for this challenge is the Score Attack playlist. Either 2X Score Attack or Gruntpocalypse will give you what you need for this challenge. Either gametype will net you a hundred and twenty or so kills, thirty less than what is needed for this challenge. That means you will need to do two games overall to complete this challenge.
Pod Kettle Black - Kill 15 Elite Drop Pods in The Long Night of Solace. - 2343cR
Now, the Drop Pods this challenge refers to are not the ones at the beginning of the game but the ones that are dropping from the corvette, The Long Night of Solace. It drops an unlimited number of these so do not worry if you miss some. To get to it, load up Long Night of Solace on Normal or Heroic from Rally Point Alpha and progress to the Corvette. I would clear everything and then attempt to get the Drop Pod kills once you are supposed to board the vessel. Go below the corvette and you can see about eight Drop Pods shoot out every twenty or so seconds. You just need to kills fifteen of them. Best way I found was to fly up towards them and shoot them as they launch. Once they are a little ways away, they are practically invulnerable.
Go Right Ahead Folks - Earn a First Strike in a multiplayer Matchmaking game. - 2000cR
A First Strike in Reach is awarded when you score the first of a round, not a game. Therefore, the best way to get this challenge is to play a gametype where there are plenty of rounds. Objective gametypes are probably what come to people minds when I mentiuons rounds and that is one of the better options. Grifball is another option as you can easily play up to three rounds depending on how even the teams are. As well, the Living Dead gametypes typically have three rounds so that is an option for this challenge as well.
