Halo 4 War Games Daily and Weekly Challenges - 2/18/13

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any ideas or comments about the challenges? Post them down below!

The Challenges:
Deft Hand - Earn 5 Combat Skill Medals. - 3000 XP
Combat Skill medals, as we all probably do not remember due to them being so obscure, include Killjoy, Headcase, From the Grave, Reload This, and Showstopper medals. You need four of these overall today and they do not need to be in a single game. Use precision weapons (DMR, BR, Light Rifle, Sniper) to score Headcase (headshot on a running target) medals and then use grenades when you are near death for the From the Grave medal. Reload This is pretty much dependent on the other player but people need to reload their weapons. Killyjoys and Showstopper are a bit more rare and harder to get so do not focus on them. Should take a game or two to complete. Aim for objective gametypes to complete this challenge.

Raise the Flag - Win 2 matchmaking Capture the Flag matches. - 5000 XP
Guess we will probably go back to seeing these as regular fixtures most weeks. And I sigh because this makes me sad. Regardless, Capture the Flag is a gametype where you need a communicative team to help you capture the flag, but also defend you own flag. The one shitty thing about capture the flag is that it often goes down to the time limit with no one getting the required five scores to win it. Most of the maps are simply too big for that. So, one way to speed it up is to pick smaller maps. Two games should not take terribly long to win so enjoy these very easy credits. They will probably not stay like this for too long.

The Weekly Challenges:
Spray and Pray - Get 75 kills with an Automatic Loadout Weapon. - 10000 XP
Automatic Loadout Weapons in Halo 4 include the AR (Automatic Rifle), the Storm Rifle, and the Suppressor. The Needler and the Chain Gun do not count for these challenges as you cannot equip them in loadouts. Whichever weapon you choose will depend on several things, the first of which being what weapons you have unlocked, the next being the type of combat you prefer. The Storm Rifle has the tightest spread but is the weakest while the Suppressor is the most powerful but is the most inaccurate. The AR sits in the middle being the best compromise to both weapons with a decently concentrated spread and good power behind it. I would stick to objective gametypes as they will allow you to get in close quarters and score these kills. Seventy-five kills can be achieved over the week with ease so no need to rush.

In Your Face - Earn 40 CQC Medals. - 20000 XP
There are three Close Quarters Combat medals in Halo 4 and they are the Melee, Beat Down, and Bulltrue medals. Remember that, for the Beat Down medal, when behind an enemy, just tap melee instead of holding it to perform a Beat Down. To get these, you will typically want to be on a smaller map in an objective oriented game as it will allow you to get as many medals as possible. Oddball is typically good for close quarters combat on the smaller maps, especially if you have the ball or can use the ball-carrier to draw people in close range. As well, standard slayer games will work well too, just not as many medals per game. I would expect to get about six or seven of these per game when actually trying, though you will not see the Bull True that often. Forty should not actually take all that long and you can likely have it done in a day or two if you actually try for it.
