Halo Reach Daily and Weekly Challenges Guide - 2/18/13

The Challenges:

Blastin' and Relaxin - Kill 180 enemies in any game mode in Reach. - 2343cR
So, the question today is whether or not this challenge will be taken care of by the other challenge. The most likely answer is "No!" Due to the lack of a Firefight challenge, you will be going out of your way for this one. "Secondary Fire" will maybe get you about twenty or so kills and "Golden Opportunity" may get you about twenty to thirty as well. Finally, "Do it! Do it Now!" will get you about eighty or so kills. This still leaves you about sixty kills short of this challenge. If you plan on playing multiplayer Matchmaking on your own today then have at it. Otherwise, I would suggest some Score Attack.

Secondary Fire - Earn 25 assists today in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 2875cR
Well, we haven't seen a challenge like this for months. I was starting to think that they had forgotten about the numerous other stats in Reach used for challenge. Now, you will earn an assist when you deal at least forty percent damage to an enemy who is killed by another player before that health is regained. My go-to mode for this has always been Multi Team since there are so many enemies and some many people to steal the kills from you. Aim for more concentrated maps like Countdown and stick to the high-traffic, lower areas when getting into combat. Actively try not to kills people, just damage them and then run away so someone else can pick up the kill. Should take three to four games to complete.

Golden Opportunity - Find and kill the Gold Ranger-class Elite in any Campaign mission on Heroic or harder. - 5343cR
The easiest Gold Ranger-class Elite (or BoB) to kill in Campaign is on the mission ONI: Swordbase. Load up Rally Point Bravo on Heroic, which is before you make your way back to the Swordbase. Get on the Hog and gun it into the garage like area. Pick up the Target Designator that will be on your right and run up the ramp. To your left, there will likely be a dual-plasma-rifle-wielding-Elite. He is actually a Gold Ranger Elite, though he does not look like it. Nail him with the Target designator and watch him get annihilated by raining fire. If he is still alive, follow up with some DMR shots to take him out. If he is not there, continue though to where the shotgun spawn is on the Swordbase multiplayer Map. There might be a dual-wielding Elite there as well that counts towards this challenge. Approach from the rear and assassinate him.

Do it! Do it Now! - Complete the Weekly Challenge today. - 2000cR
So, uhh, I will hope that this challenge is pretty self explanatory for everyone here. I doubt we will see this again this week, but its intentions are pretty apparent. Complete the Weekly challenge today, and get extra credits. Look below for the guide explaining the strategy for the "Not Lough, High" challenge, as it should take under twenty minutes to complete. Seriously, these are free credits so enjoy them.

The Weekly Challenge:
Not Lough, High - Earn a score of 125,000 in any mission in the Reach Campaign. - 10000cR

Some people may look at this challenge and think, "Holy shit, that is a lot of point." In reality, you just need the right mission and the right strategy. For us, that mission will be New Alexandria and the strategy will be Banshee Hunting. First off, load up the mission on Heroic with the Tough Luck, Catch, Famine, Thunderstorm, and Iron Skulls on. All of these need to be on or it will take longer as you will get less points per kill. Then just go around killing Banshees and Phantoms in the Flacon. Do not complete the objectives at all as they will just waste time and get you less points. Hitting a hundred and twenty-five thousand points will take a while but sprees should help you along. As well, you can just quit once you have reached the total and the challenge is done. Video of this strategy is located here.
