Halo Reach Daily and Weekly Challenges Guide - 8/27/12

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any ideas or comments about the challenges? Post them down below!

The Challenges:
Gunslinger - Kill 75 enemies in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 2250cR
The other challenges today, will not get you to seventy-five kills in multiplayer Matchmaking, unfortunately. They just do not have enough kills in them. Now, they will likely get you twenty or thirty kills so you do not have too many to make up. I would suggest, once "Twin Trips" and "Sweep the Leg" are done, that you load up some more Grifball, where you can get upwards of eighty kills in a game (I have done it before, just once), and get to hammering. You could get this done in two games, scoring about twenty to twenty-five kills a game but it might take longer if the teams are uneven. Multi Team is also a great option if you can get an objective gametype. Should not take long either way, though.

Shootin' and Lootin' - Kill 400 enemies in any game mode in Reach. - 4000cR
So, looking at this challenge today, and the other challenge, you will not be able to finish off this challenge with the others. But you will get at least seventy-five kills from the "Gunslinger" challenge above. After that, Firefight Matchmaking is easily your best bet. I would stick to Score Attack as three games of either 2X Score Attack or Gruntpocalypse should be enough to finish off this challenge for you. You can also do Custom Firefight or Campaign, but Score Attack will get you way more credits. Grifball is also an option in Multiplayer Matchmaking, but will take much longer than any other option.

Twin Trips - Earn 2 Triple Kills in the same match in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 2000cR
For those who do not know, a Triple Kill is when you score three consecutive kills, all within four seconds of each other. You will need to get two of these in a single multiplayer Matchmaking game, which is no easy feat unless you are in the right playlist. The easiest playlist to get this in on Grifball, where you can have five rounds of Gravity Hammer carnage. You will need to make sure you space out the kills after you get a Triple Kill so you can get another one. Otherwise, you will just stack the multikills, which is great and fun, but it will not get you a second multikill. If you have a slightly laggy connection, which sucks for Grifball, you can head to Multi Team as well, but that will be more difficult. Definitely spam those grenades if you do.

Sweep the Leg - Perform an assassination in a multiplayer Matchmaking game. - 2000cR
Performing a single assassination in multiplayer Matchmaking has never actually been that hard, it just requires timing and the right playlist. If you want easy to earn assassinations, then you want Team Snipers, just for a game. The reason for Team Snipers is that in this playlist, players tend to lose focus of anything other than their Sniper scopes and are very easy prey if you can flank them. Pick small maps and this becomes even easier. Assassination animations on inclines or in the air occur much faster than regular ones, so there is a lower chance of you getting Yoinked or Showstopped. Should only take a single game to complete.

The Weekly Challenge:
The Package: LASO - Complete the Package, Legendary, All Skulls on (LASO). - 17000cR

Ahh, LASO. They do still like to through these up every few weeks. And they like to pick the hard ones too. For those of you who do not know, LASO stands for Legendary, All Skulls On, as shown in the challenge. It does not need to be every skull, since only one of these challenge ever required the Blind Skull. Now, here is a guide to running through this level on LASO difficulty. As well, here is a video guide. Please note that all of these guides are for solo runs, not co-op. Co-op will somewhat nullify the Iron Skull, but will also make enemies much harder to kill. Now, expect that you will die. You can use a method were you Save and Quit right before you fully die, but you have to be quick. You then reload the campaign and you are set to go on again. Also, expect that this will take a few tries

  1. Thanks for posting these dailies. I'll be checking in every morning since Waypoint doesn't seem to work when I need it to!

  2. Just found your blog today. Like many, looking for daily challenges without having to logon to an XBox.

Used to enjoy reading another blog similar to this until the host tired of writing about Reach anymore.

    Thanks for your efforts!

    1. Save and quit does not work in Co-op, so you have to finish off the game. That is one of the advantages to doing it solo.

  4. I gave up on the weekly challenge this week, I had six attempts and I couldn't even get across the goddamned water before being shot into quivering jelly by either some wanker in a turret, a ghost, and the final straw... a single solitary grunt with a needler.
It was because of this guide however that I found out the benefits of grifball. I nearly wet my pants when I played my first game and got a killamanjaro ( my first ever in any halo game), but I do find I have a strong compulsion to teabag any Numbskull that gets the ball and actually scores with it. I had a game yesterday, it went 0-0, i got 68 kills ( some guy got 104, wtf) over 100 medals and my final credit score was over 15,000 simply because of the performance bonus. Compare that to the 300 credits you might scrape together by actually scoring with the bomb.
Jesus, anyone would think I was writing a book here, I only popped by to say good job on the blog. And to anyone that plays grifball, if you score immediately, then you're a dick, and expect me to dart over from all four corners of the map to viciously rub my nuts all over your exploded corpse, and maybe give you a few good whacks with a giant hammer.
    That is all.

    1. You have to really keep your distance at the starting point and use the hell out of that DMR.

      And, yeah, Grifball is amazing.
