Halo Reach Daily and Weekly Challenges Guide - 8/13/12

The Challenges:
More than a Handful - Kill 77 enemies in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 3500cR
Seventy-seven kills today is the number and should not at all be hard to obtain thanks to all the other challenges. Once you have finished off the "Killing Frenzy" challenge, you will likely move on to "Oops! All Kills," "Helping Hand," and the Weekly Challenge. "Oops! All Kills" and the Weekly Challenge will be what takes care of seventy-seven kills for you today, most likely. Now, remember to take breaks while playing and get up and walk around. Sitting for any length of time is not good for you.

Helping Hand - Earn 10 assists today in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 2000cR
An assist in multiplayer Matchmaking is earned when you do forty percent damage to an enemy that is then killed by another player. This happens pretty commonly and is typically someone stealing your kills. However, we want it to happen today, at least ten times. I typically get about two to three assists per game without trying so you may not even have to try for this, just play normally and the other challenge will take care of it. This will likely be easier if you coordinate this with friends and work on it while you are going for your "Oops! All Kills" challenge completion along with "Killing Frenzy."

Killing Frenzy - Earn a Killing Frenzy in a multiplayer Matchmaking game. - 4000cR
A Killing Frenzy is when you score ten kills in a row, uninterrupted by death or the end of a round in multiplayer Matchmaking. This will likely be the most difficult challenge of the day but there are a few ways in which you can help yourself. I find that the easiest playlist for long sprees is Living Dead. This playlist, if you are a survivor, allows you to get score a bunch of headshots on shields less Zombies from distance for easy kills and then polish off close enemies with the shotgun. Now, you will likely need to camp for a ten kill streak and the best map for that is one like Beachhead. The camping spots are somewhat out in the open so you have plenty of chances to scan around for long range targets. Expect this to take multiple games however.

Oops! All Kills - Earn 7 Multikills in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 2400cR
So, as you may know, a multikills is awarded when you score two kills within four seconds of each other. You can get up to nine before you need to restart the counter, though getting that high does not happen too often. Now, you need to earn seven in a game and the best way to do that is to play in the Grifball playlist. Grifball will allow you to get a ton of multikills and is easily the best playlist for this challenge. This is really just a starter and a free set of credits for the Weekly Challenge which you can read about below.

The Weekly Challenge:
Multiplicative - Earn 200 Multikills in multiplayer Matchmaking this week. - 25000cR

So this is a decent number of credits for two-hundred multikills which, honestly, should be a piece of cake over the next week. As described for the "Oops! All Kills" challenge, a multikills is awarded in multiplayer Matchmaking when you score multiple kills each within four seconds of each other. Now, earning two-hundred in a week mean you need to hit about thirty per day. You can definitely hit higher than that with certain gametypes and you can likely have this almost done in one or two days. That gametypes, which I am referring to is Grifball, conveniently located in the Grifball playlist. Grifball is practically all close quarters combat where all hits are basically one hit kills and very quick spawns that will allow you to string together some long multikills. Two decent games of this a day will get you your thirty, though two great games can get you enough for several days.

  1. For the multikill challenges, may I suggest SWAT. Always works like a charm for me.
