Halo Reach Daily and Weekly Challenges Guide - 7/22/13

The Challenges:

Covenant-cide - Kill 120 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking. - 3200cR
Well, a hundred and twenty kills is just about normal for Firefight Matchmaking so this challenge is not overly surprising. The "Survivor" challenge is the only other Firefight Matchmaking challenge today and should likely get enough kills to take care of this challenge. A hundred and twenty kills is right at the limit of kills you typically get in a single game so there is a chance that you will end just short of the kills needed for this challenge. All in all, be ready to play a second game of Score Attack just to finish this challenge off.

Golden Tree City - Find and kill the Gold Ranger-class Elite in a Banshee, fast and low, while on New Alexandria, on Legendary. - 4500cR
This is one of the more interesting challenge to have come up for this reason: we did not know this Gold Ranger-class Elite (or BoB) even existed until this challenge appeared back in the day. Now it is widely know and there are tons of videos on it floating around. Here is my video guide. What you will need to do is load up New Alexandria on Legendary and then fly near Club Errera. You will want to hang out at an altitude of one-sixty to one-eighty. The Banshee, which will be constantly boosting, normally coming from the northwest, will not stop to attack you and normally arrives any time after five minutes. I had to wait twelve minutes, other people have had to wait twenty, so be patient with this one.

Credits for Completion - Complete 5 games in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 2500cR
Well, this goes pretty nicely with the Weekly Challenge, to be honest. To complete a game in Halo Reach, you simply need to play from start to finish, unlike Halo 4. There are no other multiplayer Matchmaking Daily Challenges today, though there is the Weekly Challenge, so you are most on your own today for this one. If by chance you happen to get kicked, dropped, or quit from any game, it will not count towards this challenge and, if it happens enough, you can receive a temporary ban from matchmaking. In other words, be careful. Five games should be taken care of entirely while working on the Weekly Challenge.

Survivor - Earn 7 Sprees in a Firefight Matchmaking game. - 2000cR
A spree in Firefight Matchmaking is earned when you score ten kills in a row without dying. You can get up to five sprees, two short of what you need for this challenge, by scoring fifty kills without dying. You should be scoring these quite easily so this challenge should take little time to complete. This challenge does not stipulate just Killing Sprees so weapon and other miscellaneous sprees will also count. Once you hit fifty kills I would just die so you can start those sprees over and have this done in no time flat. 2X Score Attack and Gruntpocalypse are the preferred gametypes for this challenge. You need a hundred and twenty kills today for the other Firefight Matchmaking Daily Challenges, "Covenant-cide".

The Weekly Challenge:
That's Dedication, Holmes - Complete 77 games in multiplayer Matchmaking this week. - 7777cR

We have had this challenge three times before. Only the very first time was it for seventy-seven games. All the other times it was for a hundred and fifty. Count yourselves lucky. This means you need to play eleven games a day but try to get as many games as possible done in the first few days of the week. Now, first off, SWAT, Living Dead, and even Grifball tend to have the shortest games. Since you are not going for kills Grifball can be a much faster game if you just focus on planting the bomb. On Living Dead, do not camp. Again, we are not going for kills, but for game completion. And in SWAT, get kills as fast as you can since that is how you complete the game. Mix things up. Games will get stale after seventy-seven playthroughs in a week. Spread out the games played as well and try not to have them all in one giant block. And, please, do not idle in games. 343i will ban you for that.
