Halo 4 War Games Daily and Weekly Challenges - 7/29/13

The Challenges:

Rolling Thunder - Earn 10 Killing Spree medals. - 2000 XP
A Killing Spree in War Games is earned when you score five kills in a row. As this challenge stipulates "Killing Spree medals" other sprees such as weapon and miscellaneous sprees will not count. Now, you do not need ten in a single game, as that would be practically impossible, just overall but even that can be a bit of a task with the current state of War Games Matchmaking. You will undoubtedly be playing games in the Team Objective playlist thanks to "Take The Hill!" challenge and this is good because objective gametypes are typically the best for getting killing sprees. Complete "Take The Hill!" first and then move onto this one as you may get a spree or two while working on it.

Take The Hill! - Win 3 matchmaking King of the Hill matches. - 1000 XP
Well, three wins is not too bad if you have a good team, at least. King of the Hill is a gametype in which you need to hold a position which moves around the map. The first team to reach, I believe, a hundred and fifty seconds wins the game. KoTH in Halo 4 is actually a lot easier since they will tell you where the next hill will be when there are about five seconds left on the old hill. That way, you can make headway on the hill while the other team is trying to squeeze a few seconds out of the old hill. If you have a group of at least three players, you can easily run this playlist for wins. Again it all comes down to communication. The bigger issue here is what playlist you will need to be in. There is no King of the Hill playlist anymore so you will need to head to Team Objective to get some games. This many take up to six games to finish off.

The Weekly Challenges:
Spray And Pray - Get 250 kills with an Automatic Loadout Weapon. - 7500 XP
Automatic Loadout Weapons in Halo 4 include the AR (Automatic Rifle), the Storm Rifle, and the Suppressor. The Needler and the Chain Gun do not count for these challenges as you cannot equip them in loadouts. Whichever weapon you choose will depend on several things, the first of which being what weapons you have unlocked, the next being the type of combat you prefer. The Storm Rifle has the tightest spread but is the weakest while the Suppressor is the most powerful but is the most inaccurate. The AR sits in the middle being the best compromise to the other weapons with a decently concentrated spread and good power behind it. I would stick to objective gametypes as they will allow you to get in close quarters and score these kills. Two-hundred and fifty kills will only require that you hit about forty a day but hit more early so you can relax later in the week.

Raise The Flag - Win 15 matchmaking Capture the Flag matches. - 10000 XP
It figures that, since we got a Daily challenges forcing you into a specific gametype, we would get a Weekly Challenge that forces you into another. Fifteen matches means a little more than two a day and Capture the Flag is a gametype where you need a communicative team to help you capture the flag, but also defend you own flag. The one shitty thing about capture the flag is that it often goes down to the time limit with no one getting the required five scores to win it. Most of the maps are simply too big for that. So, one way to speed it up is to pick smaller maps. Two to three wins a day should not take terribly long to win but it will require some dedication throughout this week. If you can, try and get more wins earlier so you have some wiggle room if you end up without time.
