Halo 4 War Games Daily and Weekly Challenges - 6/3/13

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any ideas or comments about the challenges? Post them down below!

The Challenges:

Drilled - Get 20 kills with a Precision Loadout Weapon in a single match. - 2000 XP
Precision Loadout weapons in Halo 4 include the DMR (Designated Marksman Rifle), the BR (Battle Rifle), the Covenant Carbine, and the Light Rifle. These are all the precision weapons that you can add to a customized loadout. Sniper, Binary Cannon, and Covenant Beam Rifle do not fall into this category. Now, some playlists, like SWAT, have you exclusively using these weapons and these are your best bets for completing these challenges. As all these games require sixty kills now, but your average number of kills should jump up a little putting twenty definitely in range of a single game. As well, objective gametypes are good for this challenge as there is no kill limit and you can exclusively use a precision weapons in your loadouts. This does need to be completed in a single game but should only take two or three attempts to complete.

Quick On The Trigger - Earn 4 Combat Skill Medals in a single match. - 1000 XP
Combat skill medals, for those who do not already know of them, include the Killjoy, Headcase, From the Grave, Reload This, and Showstopper Medals. Granted, a lot of these are based off of luck, a few can be farmed, namely the Reload This and Headcase medals, which you will be best off trying for with a Precision Weapons (i.e. DMR, BR, Light Rifle, Covenant Carbine). Now, you need to score four in a single match but this is not really a difficult challenge if you are in a long match with a lot of players. Dominion would be my preferred gametype, though you can also have great success with Capture the Flag as those games typically go the entire time. Finish off "Drilled" first, however.

The Weekly Challenges:
To The Victor Go The Spoils - Win 25 matchmaking War Games matches. - 7500 XP
Let's just be happy we are not restricted to a certain gametype. If you are going for wins, Flood and Regicide are right out as they are Free-for-all playlists. Oddball is a great option because, if you have a good team, you can camp the ball or pass it back and forth to ensure that you keep the ball in your team's possession. For those people who want the fastest gametypes, well, that is most likely SWAT. Kills come in faster and the game can go very quickly on a smaller map. Now, if you have a good team that is coordinated, Oddball can be a very quick game as long as you pick a defensible position and get the ball immediately, as well as utilizing the pass function. This also hold true for Dominion if you can quickly capture all the bases and then eliminate the enemy team. Stay away from Capture the Flag if you are short on time as those games almost always go the entire time. Grifball has returned as well so look to that if it was good to you in Reach. You need to hit about four kills a day to make sure you get twenty-five.

Exterminate! Exterminate! - Kill every member of the opposing team at least once in a match. - 6750 XP
I like the Weekly Challenge variant of this one. Almost triple the XP rewards for the same exact challenge. Sounds good. You can somewhat treat this like an actually Extermination from Reach, but just spread out over an entire game. As well, there is a commendation that tracks this. Now, you do need to kill every member of the opposing team, just not at all once. This probably happens more often than not without you even noticing it. You will want to stick to gametypes with a low number of players per team. This means Team Slayer Pro, Infinity Slayer, or SWAT. Each one of those gametypes has teams of four players maximum. I'm not entirely sure how people joining and leaving the game effect this stat, but most likely you will need to have killed every player who is on the team once the game ends. Should take a game or two to complete.
