The Challenges:
Drilled - Get 18 kills with a Precision Loadout Weapon in a single match. - 2455 XP
Precision Loadout weapons in Halo 4 include the DMR (Designated Marksman Rifle), the BR (Battle Rifle), the Covenant Carbine, and the Light Rifle. These are all the precision weapons that you can add to a customized loadout. Sniper, Binary Cannon, and Covenant Beam Rifle do not fall into this category. Now, some playlists, like SWAT, have you exclusively using these weapons and these are your best bets for completing these challenges. As all these games require sixty kills now, but your average number of kills should jump up a little putting eighteen definitely in range of a single game. As well, objective gametypes are good for this challenge as there is no kill limit and you can exclusively use a precision weapons in your loadouts. This does need to be completed in a single game but should only take two or three attempts to complete.
One, Two, Three, Four... - Earn 12 Multikill medals. - 1750 XP
A multikill in Halo 4 is earned when you score multiple kills each within four and a half seconds of each other. These are decidedly less common in Halo 4 than they were in Reach so you really need to set up the right gametype and such to score them. Now, having access to large number of enemies and heavy weapons is a great way to score multikills. Grifball is back so that is definitely an option for this challenge. I am somewhat doubtful that a lot of multikills will be scored when going for the "Drilled" challenge due to the playlists you will be in so work on this one first. Twelve multikills should take about two or three games to complete.
The Weekly Challenges:
Deadeye - Kill 300 Players with a headshot. - 8250 XP
So, headshots can be scored with precision weapons, being the DMR, the BR, the Sniper Rifle, the Covenant Carbine, the Beam Rifle, the Light Rifle, or the Binary Cannon as well as the Magnum Pistol, and will come pretty commonly in matchmaking. Almost everyone is using precision weapons in their loadout so even if you are out of ammo you can likely pick one up. As well, Team Snipers is being thrust into the playlist hopper today and should also let you rack up the headshots. Now, depending on the weapons, and the playlist, you will need to take down the shields of your enemies to score headshots. Grenades and melees are very effective at this but a plasma pistol burst is best. Three hundred headshots should take twenty to thirty games and probably can be done within four or five days.
Raise The Flag - Win 16 matchmaking Capture the Flag matches. - 13800 XP
It figures that, since we got a Daily challenges that doesn't force a specific gametypes, we would get a Weekly Challenge that does. Sixteen matches means a little more than two a day and Capture the Flag is a gametype where you need a communicative team to help you capture the flag, but also defend you own flag. The one shitty thing about capture the flag is that it often goes down to the time limit with no one getting the required five scores to win it. Most of the maps are simply too big for that. So, one way to speed it up is to pick smaller maps. Two to three wins a day should not take terribly long to win but it will require some dedication throughout this week. If you can, try and get more wins earlier so you have some wiggle room if you end up without time.
