Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 5/7/13

The Challenges:

Covenant-cide - Kill 120 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking. - 3200cR
Well, a hundred and twenty enemies in Firefight is never really a difficult challenge, to be honest. In a typical game in the Score Attack playlist, you will get about a hundred and twenty kills. Now, the challenge below, "A Walk in the...," has you completing about two games to bring in a hundred and fifty kills. Obviously, that takes care of this challenge so you really do not even need to worry about. This should, honestly, be completed in the first game you play or you will be just short of it.

A Walk in the... - Kill 150 enemies on Beachhead in Firefight Matchmaking. - 1125cR Beachhead
is definitely one of my favorite maps for Firefight Matchmaking just due to its size and since it is one of the only maps where some vehicle usage is feasible (Man, do I miss Lost Platoon). Going into the standard Firefight playlist is always risky since you may not get the map or the other players may vote for a different map. Therefore your best bet is to play two games of Score Attack to take care of these kills. Two games in the Score Attack playlist will get you a hundred and twenty kills each, which is overkill for this challenge but you can save some time if you get a game of Crashsite in which you can just die once you hit the kills you need.

L.D. Pillar - Complete The Pillar of Autumn, without dying, with Mythic, Thunderstorm, Tilt, and Touch Luck on. - 5000cR
I must say, we are seeing a hell of a lot more of these "L.D." challenges recently then we have in a long time. No clue why though. Well, "L.D. Pillar" will take up a large amount of the day. The Pillar of Autumn is a decently long level and these skulls will actually make the level more difficult. Mythic will double the health of all enemies, Thunderstorm will upgrade them all, Tilt changes how much damage you and your enemies do, and Tough Luck makes enemies dodge more often. See the LASO guide for tips and tricks to get through this level. Remember that you can die as much as you want but you need to Save and Quit and reload the level before the last objective to complete the challenge.

Home Field Advantage - Win 7 games in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 2050cR
Seven wins can definitely be challenging to some but this challenge needs little explanation. All the other challenges today are in other modes besides multiplayer Matchmaking challenge so you are pretty much on your own for this one. To help you score wins, stick to gametypes with no more than two teams, in a playlist you are good at, and with people you know on your team. This can take up to fourteen games to complete so be ready for the long haul. Grifball is one of the faster gametypes, along with Team SWAT. This really depends upon your personal preference here but make sure you start on this early.
