The Package Walkthrough (continued):

Now, you get to go through the maintenance area. Oh, by the way, it is filled with Skirmishers and Jackals. The area is generally a serious of three rings with ramps connecting each ring.

Make a full circuit of each level and headshot any enemy you see while utilizing any available cover. If you get close enough to a single shielded Jackal, just melee them for the shields.

This area is generally not hard to clear and you just have to take it slow and use your cover and grenades. After the area is clear, stock up on ammo and get some health and shields. Exit through the hallway at the top and you will be back in a familiar section of Sword Base.

Move through the entry way and arrive at the doors. Now you will be facing six or seven invisible Elites. Treat these guys just like the jumper Elites during New Alexandria. Pick up the Plasma Repeater on the ground and then pour the shots into these Elites.

Once the shields come down, switch to whatever precision weapon you have and get a headshot.

Typically, you want to stay in the doorway, but once only one or two remain, you can venture out a little further. There is an Engineer in the back that you will want to eventually take out but, if you stay in the doorway, the Elites will not be close enough to get Overshields.

Once the last invisible Elite is dead, look out because a Concussion Rifle-wielding General Elite will pop out at the far end of the chamber.

He is really a pushover, though. Just sit back and let Noble do everything.

After the General has been slain, go up and hit this button (Can you spot the datapad?).

After a short committee meeting, your end up riding a train and get stuck in a Firefight match.

Alright, this is not exactly a Firefight match, but it is pretty damn close. If you were in Firefight Matchmaking, you would be playing on Glacier which is the exact same map.

The good news is that the level can be exploited in much the same way as the Firefight map. Grab a jet-pack and jump up to here.

As soon as your jet-pack has recharged, jet up to this spot. There is no kill-zone up here which means that you can stay up here as long as you want. Do not be stingy with your DMR ammo as there is a ton of it on the ground below. For the most part, you can sit back and let the other three members of Noble do all the work.

Now, this spot is also a great place to capture a Banshee from. The Banshees will take a run at you and as they start to turn, jet-pack up to them and hit the "X" button. Voila, you now have a Banshee.

Do not expect these Banshees to last and, as a matter of fact, I would recommend that you board at least two or three Banshees during this part. If the Banshee you are flying looks dead, however, land a ditch that thing. It is quite easy to get another.

Eventually, a Wraith will be dropped in the far back. Pick up the Spartan Laser and two shots will eliminate that Wraith. You do not have enough space behind the first Wraith to use a Banshee effectively against it, so just stick to the Spartan Laser. Two hits and it is gone.

Once you are approaching the end, which will be evidenced by the appearance of Elites, make sure that you have a Banshee for the end. The greatest weapon you have in a Banshee is the great distance at which the Banshee Bombs and cannons work. This is especially helpful when dealing with any Ghosts. Put a lot of distance between you and your target and let it rip.

Eventually, you will get to the last "wave" of this firefight and you will know because two Wraiths will be dropped on the far opposing sides of the map. For the Wraith farthest to the left, give it a wide berth and slip behind it. Fire Banshee bombs into the back of the Wraith and then turn around and repeat.

The main gun has a very small chance of hitting you, but it is the turret we are worried about. The Banshee can take a lot of damage, but any sustained fire from those turrets means death. After the first Wraith is destroyed, you will repeat this method for the second Wraith on the other side of the map. Just be patient. They will blow up eventually.

As long as the rest of Noble team has been fighting while you were dispatching the Wraiths, there should only be some Elites left and possibly and Engineer. Take out that Engineer first so you do not have to deal with any enemies having an Overshield.

Now, in my playthrough, I dropped a few Elites but then focused on the sword-wielding General Elite. The cannon works wonders here as he cannot hit you with anything. (He has a sword, remember?)

I dropped this Elite and then it said "Objective Complete." Once you hear that, regardless of any enemies left, get down there and hit that button.

Once that is done, watch the cutscene, meet Halsey in person, pick up Cortana, and get a move on to Azod. The Pillar of Autumn is awaiting you. Congrats on beating The Package.

  1. That was actually fun- but I always get an odd situation that doesn't fit either yours or Tyrant's walkthrough. Painted myself in a corner and have an exhilarating rundown of the events...
    At Halsey's Lab:
-1st Wraith fell off the edge (Awesome)
    -Banshees disappeared (Noooo!)
-Found the roof of the lab to be better than the high camp spot (SUPER!)
-Found a Ghost to parade around in (before AND where the 2nd Wraith is dropped) as I utilized the left side with few enemies and activated the turret(Crucial- you really need a vehicle to take the Elites out). Turns out the when the Phantom dropped 2 Ghosts at once, one flipped over, ejecting the dumb Grunt.

With the 1st Wraith taking a tumble, I had tons of Spartan Laser for the 2 Wraiths that followed. I was lucky enough to splatter enough Elites with my Ghost that the dropships kept coming while I DMR-ed anything that had a plasma pistol. Then I happened upon the Elite with the sword. After you kill him, it cues the door. Broke my heart to leave all those baddies behind.

Awesome blog, Justin. As for the 'Revenge' challenge last week? Not worth it...YUCK!

  2. An interesting run you must have had.

Thanks for the comments! But I didn't think the Revenge challenge last week was too bad. A good game of Grifball could not you like 3-4 Revenge medals a game. Even though a good solid game of Grifball is becoming increasingly hard to come by.
