Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 5/5/11

The Challenges:

One Spartan Army - Kill 250 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking. - 1875cR
All you challenges today will be done in Firefight Matchmaking. And you can accomplish all of them in two games. I would split it up and try to get all the challenges in the last game, but that is not the smartest idea. I just like to see large cR totals. So sue me. But two games of Gruntpocalypse should get this done. You might actually end up just short, but just turn on Crashsite for the last couple of kills and you should be all set.

Blast Radius - Kill 40 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking with grenades. - 1000cR
Gruntpocalypse on a small map has always done well for me in this. 2X Score Attack should be fine as well since the grenades are twice as lethal. The trick is to hit the Covies as they spawn. That should rack up for kills for you every single time if timed right. The only issue here is getting more grenades to throw. Do not be afraid to die just for another helping of grenades. As well, normally there are four Frag Grenades at the initial spawn. Depends on the gametype. though.

Hyper Lethal Vector - Kill 150 enemies with headshots in Firefight Matchmaking. - 1125cR
A hundred and fifty headshots should be automatic for you in two games unless you are going for automatic weapons kills or something. In a single game you should be hitting around a hundred headshots if you are in Gruntpocalypse. Expect those numbers to be lower one game if you are going for the "Blast Radius" challenge. Remember, shoot for the head, one shot dead.

Be Their Huckleberry - Kill 100 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking with the pistol. - 1250cR
The pistol is the main reason I am saying to play Gruntpocalypse. Grunts are easy to kill and even more so with the Pistol. And a hundred kills should be easy and help you with the headshots for "Hyper Lethal Vector." Just remember to make it a small map so you can fully utilize the Pistol's range.

  1. Challenging but fun weekly (Tyrant's guides are the BEST!!!).

Highlight: Flipping the switch on the jammer at the hospital and not being greeted by Elite Rangers(?!?!), took out 2 skirmishers and the Ultra, went up the stairs...ALL of the Rangers & leftover skirmishers were on the second to last floor WAITING for me. I managed to sneak away and narrowly avoided death. Brutal.
    Thought I'd share.
    :^)

  2. Tyrant does have some fantastic guides. And he did all of those way before the LASO challenges started.
