Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 8/9/11

The Challenges:
Shootin' and Lootin' - Kill 150 enemies in any game mode in Reach. - 1125cR
This challenge will take care of itself today. With the hundred and twenty-five kills needed for "The Little Guys" challenge, plus the fifty needed for the "Be Their Huckleberry" challenge and finally the seventy-seven kills needed for the "Close Talking" challenge, everything should be well in hand and completed once you finish off your second or third challenge of the day.

Be Their Huckleberry - Kill 50 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking with the pistol. - 1000cR
Load up a game of Gruntpocalypse in the Score Attack playlist and you should have no trouble at all with this challenge. Gruntpocalypse forces you to start out with a DMR and a pistol. Focus with just getting pistol kills which should be easy as the pistol is head-shot capable weapon. Stick close to your ammo crate as you can only carry a total of forty-eight shots for the pistol which means one loaded magazine and five extras. Pick a small map like Courtyard too. This challenge would take forever on a map like Beachhead.

The Little Guys - Kill 125 Grunts in Campaign today on Normal or harder. - 1000cR
Easiest way to get this challenge is to just play through multiple levels of the campaign. I would start on Nightfall, actually, and then move on to Tip of the Spear. I would also set the difficulty to Heroic so you can prevent kill-stealing by your AI allies. Just keep playing until you get the hundred and twenty-five Grunt kills. The level I listed tend to have a ton of enemies and should perfectly suit your needs.

Close Talking - Earn 77 kills with close quarters combat in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 1400cR
The best way to get this challenge done is to load up Grifball and grind out all the required kills. In Grifball, almost every kill you can earn (excluding killing by the ball explosion) counts as a close quarters combat kill like Gravity Hammer and Energy Sword kills always do. You can get up to sixty kills in a single game, but that is by far the exception rather than the rule. Expect to hit about twenty-five to thirty kills per game. This challenge should take you about three games to complete.
