Halo Reach Daily and Weekly Challenges Guide - 8/1/11

The Challenges:
Covenant-cide - Kill 120 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking. - 1100cR
This will, hopefully, take you a single game of Firefight today. You should be able to finish this challenge of will doing the "Blast Radius" and "Grunt Spelunking" challenges on the map Glacier. A hundred and twenty kills is just about the typical number of kills you get when factoring in the suicide 'nades and poorly aimed Fuel Rod blasts of the Covenant. There is a chance you may need to play one more game after wards to polish off any remaining kills.

Blast Radius - Kill 40 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking with grenades. - 1000cR
Forty grenade kills is doable in a single game. Try for 2X Score Attack or Gruntpocalypse here so the enemies are generally a lot easier to kill. 2X Score Attack is also great for this since you start with four grenades, I believe. Try to hit groups with grenades as they spawn. They tend to not move immediately and make very, very easy targets. It will also be helpful if you can find a way to bottleneck the covenant. You can try to lure them into the player spawn area on Glacier for some easy grenade kills, but that might take a lot of effort.

Aggressive Negotiations - Earn at least 17 kills in a multiplayer Matchmaking game. - 1700cR
Seventeen is a high enough number of kills that my recommendation for this challenge trends towards Grifball. If you get a game that does not end in three (or five) quick rounds, you should have no problem hitting seventeen kills pending that you are not getting completely spawn-camped. As well, you should be able to hit this number in Multi Team on games like Crazy King or Three Ball. Slayer can also be good for hitting seventeen kills depending on your competition.

Grunt Spelunking - Kill 125 enemies on Glacier in Firefight Matchmaking. - 1100cR
Glacier is one of my favorite maps for Firefight, to be honest, and it features some awesome sight-lines for Covie-slaying. To get a hundred and twenty kills, however, might be on the challenge side due to the Covie's ending up killing themselves with grenades. This will most likely take you two games to accomplish. You can go for 2X Score Attack or for Gruntpocalypse. If you finish off the first game and are still short, try to load up a game of Crashsite on the map and then you can die or let the generator explode to end the game.

The Weekly Challenge:
Clear Eyes, Full Hearts - Win 50 games in multiplayer Matchmaking this week. - 7777cR
Well, I was definitely hoping for something much more interesting for Bungie's last Weekly Challenge before the reigns are handed over to 343 Industries on Tuesday. You would expect something not so mind-numbingly dull as a week-long grind. Either way expect to play a lot of games this week if you expect to hit this number. Otherwise, you might as well, not try and not even worry about it.

Fifty wins over a week is equal to about seven wins a day with some an extra on thrown in there somewhere. The playlists you play in will be entirely up to you. Living Dead is the fastest gametype but is also, by far, one of the harder gametypes to get a win in. Stick to whatever you typically win matches in and try to play with friend since you will likely work better with someone that you know. That is the best advice that can be given for this challenge. Good luck!
