Halo Reach: LASO Weekly Challenge Guide: Part 6 – Exodus: II

Please follow the blog and/or follow me on twitter!

See Part I here.
Well, let's jump right into it.

So we have left the elevator and are now charging forward through triage.  Now the fighting in this next area is annoying.  Skipping it is the best option.  Credit for this route goes to Tyrant over at Halo.Bungie.Org.  (Great guy.  Give him some views!)  Get your jet-pack and fire it up.

Make your way over to this beam.

Then jet pack over to this beam.

Next, jet over to this ledge.

After that, walk along the wall but be careful not to fall to your death.  Eventually, you will come to a corner which you will need to jet-pack around.

After that small jump, jet up to here.
Now we have one more jump.  The trick for this jump is to physically jump, but hit the jet-pack as soon as you jump.

Do it too late and you will fall to your death.  Once you make it up, move to your right and get away from the Covenant.

Jet-pack up to the top floor and head towards the Weapon Crate.  Pick up the Rockets and get some DMR ammo.  Now, we are going to skip most of the fight here and credit, again, goes to Tyrant.

Follow this path starting here.
Next, jump pack up here.
One you get to the end, jet pack up again and land on the ledge.
Jump up and jet pack so you land on top of the building.
Now, we are going to jet-pack across this long chasm.  The trick is to hold the jet-pack in short bursts.  The rhythm is this; Jump, two seconds of jet-pack, one second of free-fall, two seconds of jet-pack, one second of free-fall.  Follow that pattern and you should make it across.
Once you land, immediately run through the doors to your left and "Beat Down" the Brute Chieftain in front of you.  Now, this does not always work.  Sometime the Grunts turn around and spot you and then you are screwed.  There is a lot of chance here.

Once you do "Beat Down" the Brute, jet pack up to the third floor and hide.  Once the turrets have been dropped off, go out onto the balcony and dispatch the turret gunners.  This will, incidentally, also take out the turrets.
Now you use the ledges and hide when you need to.  Grind down the rest of the opposition.  Make sure you drop the two Grunts with Fuel Rod Guns and use the Rockets on the Hammer Chieftain.
Once most of your ammo has been depleted, do not be afraid to pick up a Fuel Rod Gun and wipe out the remaining Covies.
Once the area is clear, make sure you are at full health and jump into the Falcon.  The only things you have to worry about on this ride are the Banshees.  Lay some fire into them to drop them from the sky and you should be fine.
After the Covenant destroys the civilian vessel attempting to flee, you will hover behind some Marines.  Focus your fire on the Brute first and then everything else.  You will eventually be forced out of the Falcon so kill them while you can.
After landing and finishing off the nearby Covies, get some health, ammo, and a Plasma Pistol.
Jump on the Mongoose and park it behind the first Missile Battery.  Now we are going to use the Tyrant technique to take a Wraith.  Kill the Grunt gunner at distance and then move in.  Hit the Wraith with an overcharge shot and then board it.

Give it only two melee hits and then jump off.  Hit it with another overcharge shot and then physically jump on it.  The two initial melee hits opened up the cockpit.
Now, you can aim down inside and hit only the driver.  This leaves the Wraith relatively undamaged and quite potent.
After you have commandeered the Wraith, dispatch the other Wraith and the Plasma Launcher-wielding Brute on the bridge.  You are going to clear the farthest Missile Battery first.  Just mortar the hell out of it.
Once it is clear, hit the button and get back into the Wraith.  Now you want to clear the other Missile Battery.
Do not hit the button immediately, though.  First you are going to bring the Mongoose into position here.
Then, hit the button and get on the Mongoose.  Speed over to the other objective using these stairs.
Once up there, hop up these ledges and hit the button.
The mission is now over.  Congrats on another successful LASO run.
