Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 10/7/12

The Challenges:
Light Fare - Kill 100 enemies in any game mode in Reach. - 3000cR
No need to worry about this challenge today, as is the usual. These a hundred kills can be gained in any game mode in Reach but most of them will be gained in the Firefight Matchmaking mode for us. The "Survivor" challenge has you going for seven sprees in a single Firefight Matchmaking game. The suggested playlist for that is the Score Attack playlist and a single game there will have you achieving about a hundred and twenty kills. You are well over a hundred then, but if you manage to fall short somehow, then you still have the kills from "Multiplier" and "Throwing Fireballs" to help you make up the difference.

Multiplier - Earn 5 multikills in a multiplayer Matchmaking game. - 2500cR
Mildly related question, you finish up the Weekly Challenge yet, the one that was asking for two-hundred multi kills over this week? Hopefully, most of you have that finished off by now, though spending a crap-load of games in Grifball will get it done for you, as well as complete this challenge which is simply asking for five multi kills in a single game. Now, a multi kill is when you score multiple kills within four seconds of each other. If the Weekly Challenge is already taken care of for you, play an extra game of Grifball or see if you can get it taken care of during "Throwing Fireballs."

Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 10/6/12

The Challenges:
One Spartan Army - Kill 400 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking. - 2000cR
So, you will be playing in all the various modes today but there is no global challenge asking you to get a bunch of kills. Instead we have a challenge restricted to a single mode asking you to get a bunch of kills. It is always pretty much one or the other. Regardless of the game mode you choose, Score Attack or standard Firefight, this challenge will take you four games to complete. You can hit about a hundred and twenty kills There are no other Firefight related challenges so feel free to complete this challenge whenever you feel like it.

Single Wield - Earn 100 kills with small arms weapons in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 3000cR
This is, frankly, one of the more annoying challenges that we can be handed. It is not really difficult, just a lengthy grind. So, small arms weapons in Reach include the Magnum Pistol, the Needler, the Plasma Pistol, and the Brute Spiker. You will only really get to use the pistol and the Needler in normal gameplay as the Plasma Pistol is useless and the Brute Spiker is not at all common. Now, in terms of playlists, you are best off aiming for Multi Team and Team SWAT. In Multi Team you can get gametypes like Elites Slayer where you can focus on Needler kills and Team SWAT has SWAT Magnums where you can do just Pistols. Plan for ten or so kills a game so this challenge will take about ten games to complete. Good luck.

The Challenges:
Fire When Ready - Kill 30 enemies in multiplayer Matchmaking - 2100cR
As usual for Fridays, it is time for multiplayer Matchmaking, and a lot of it. Today is a little iffy on whether or not the other challenges will take care of this one, asking you to score thirty kills over the day in multiplayer Matchmaking. Most likely you will be done thanks to the other challenges, it simply matters how frugal you are with your kill. I do not envision any extra games being necessary for this challenge, but if you need some, just play a single games of whatever you enjoy and typically get a bunch of kills with (Grifball for me) and you should have it all taken care of.

Now I have a Machine Gun - Earn 20 kills with automatic weapons in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 2000cR
Automatic weapons are typically the starting weapons that we immediately try to trade for something else, which is typically because they are only useful up close and, at that point, we would rather have a Shotgun. Now, automatic weapons include the AR, Needler, Plasma Rifle, Plasma Repeater, and Brute Spiker (though you are not likely to see the Spiker in multiplayer). Team Slayer and Multi Team will almost always have you starting the game with the AR so these are your best bets unless you can get Elite Slayer and then you can start with the Needler. You will really need to exclusively focus on getting kills with automatic weapons and only doing that. Quicker you get it done, the quicker you can move on to better weapons.

The Challenges:
One Spartan Army - Kill 150 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking. - 2250cR
So, it is Thursday and Thursday means Firefight challenges only since it has been like this for at least a year now. Man, how the time flies. A hundred and fifty kills will, thankfully, not be much of a hassle for you today thanks to the "Just Hold On..." challenge, which can have you playing a bunch of games. That challenge will take at least two games, but probably more like three to six, in the Firefight playlist, which should be enough to score a hundred and fifty kills. If you are just hiding and scoring few kills, go for a game of Score Attack afterwards and you should be able to finish off this challenge.

Just Hold On... - Complete 6 Rounds in Firefight Matchmaking without dying. - 1500cR
Due to the way this challenge is set up, this will actually be a pain in the ass to do. So, every game has waves, rounds, and set. In the Firefight playlist, every game is a set, which has three rounds. All the rounds have five waves. You will need to play at least two games to survive six rounds then but, here is the kicker, dying in one round will cause all subsequent rounds to not count for the challenge, even if you only died that once. This means that dying in the first round will effectively hose the entire game. This is why it is important to camp for at least the first and possibly second round. Maps like Beachhead and Glacier have fantastic hiding spots that area accessible via the jet-pack and will make your life a lot easier. As well, try to work with your teammates. You want to camp some, but you also need to move the game along so you can get the rounds completed. The rounds will not count unless you complete them. This should take two to four games to complete.

The Challenges:
Blastin' and Relaxin' - Kill 180 enemies in any game mode in Reach. - 2343cR
So, the other daily challenges will likely complete this challenge for you. Well, let me rephrase. One of the daily challenges will take care of these a hundred and eighty kills you are being asked to acquire in any game mode in Reach. If you are at all unsure, that challenge is "Flat Tire", unfortunately. Flat Tire will have you playing at least two games of Firefight Matchmaking in the Score Attack playlist, if you follow my method, which will generate about two-hundred and forty kills. You may even need a third game for the challenge but, regardless, this challenge will be taken care of.

Flat Tire - Kill 5 enemy vehicles in Firefight Matchmaking. - 2000cR
This challenge is typically a dreaded one due to needing to get the right gametypes on the right map and that is, unfortunately still the case. The best way to complete this challenge now is to play in the Score Attack playlist and aim for the map Holdout. For gametypes, you will want Sniper Attack, Rocket Attack, or FRG Attack (Sniper is the best for this, however) but do not play 2X Score Attack, as kills in that gametype rarely count. Holdout has static Banshee spawns which tend to bring out a Banshee every two and a half to four and a half minutes, which means you can see up to five Banshee spawns a game or as little as two. The trick is to make the game last as long as possible, so kite around the final enemy if necessary. Expect this to take two to three games to complete.

The Challenges:
Light Fare - Kill 100 enemies in any game mode in Reach. - 3000cR
Well, there is something for everyone today, as you will need to play in every main mode to complete all of today's challenge. This challenge, per the usual, is simply asking you to score a hundred enemy kills cumulatively in any of the game modes of Reach. This should not, at all be an issue since the "Hyper Lethal Vector" challenge has you going for a hundred headshots in Firefight, "Triple Thrill" will have you getting at least fifteen or so kills, and then you still need to put some time into the Weekly Challenge which should also generate a bunch of kills. All in all, no extra work needed for this one.

Hyper Lethal Vector - Kill 100 enemies with headshots in Firefight Matchmaking. - 3000cR
This should only take you a single game to complete if you have the right setup. Now, you will want to aim for the Score Attack playlist and, more specifically, Gruntpocalypse. This gametype will start you with a DMR (which is a headshot capable weapon) and all of your enemies will be Grunts. Grunts are the easy enemies and, sparing the Ultras, can all be killed with a single shot to the head. Ultras will take two shots as you need to knock of their helmets first. You will face about a hundred and twenty in one game, so you at least need to headshot a hundred of them and you can have this done in a single game. Do with the other twenty what you will.

Halo Reach Daily and Weekly Challenges Guide - 10/1/12

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any ideas or comments about the challenges? Post them down below!

The Challenges:
More than a Handful - Kill 25 enemies in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 2000cR
This challenge should really not be a problem at all today thanks to the "Un, Deux, Trois" challenge and thanks to the Weekly Challenge. One is asking you to score three wins while the other is asking you to score two-hundred multi kills this week. In all of that, I really do think it is safe to assume that you will hit twenty-five kills, probably in a single game to. Grifball is the best option for getting an obscene amount of kills but if it is not working for you, then may I suggest Multi Team or Big Team Battle to try and hit twenty-five kills. Really should not be an issue though.

Blast Radius - Kill 40 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking with grenades. - 1000cR
This is a rather easy challenge on a small map with the right gametype. Grenades are quite plentiful in Firefight in any mode so aim for Gruntpocalypse and you should generally be set for this challenge. You will quickly run out of Fragmentation Grenades so remember that there will almost always be grenades on the ground. Try to aim for enemies as they spawn, especially in Gruntpocalypse, as they will remain still for a few moments which makes them very easy targets. You can likely get this done in a single game of Gruntpocalypse, however, do not be surprised if this goes two games.
