The Challenges:

Threading the Needle - Kill 8 Players with a headshot in a single match. - 1000 XP
Well, I did say that these large credit values would likely not last forever. Now, to score a headshot in Halo 4, you need a headshots capable weapon, which include the DMR, the BR, the Magnum Pistol, the Sniper Rifle, the Covenant Carbine, the Beam Rifle, the Light Rifle, and the Binary Cannon. You can also apparently score headshots with the Bolt Shot, but I hate that weapon. Anyway, since you will playing in the Team Objective or FFA Regicide playlists today, you can easily score headshots in those. If you are having trouble scoring those headshots, however, head for SWAT. SWAT gives everyone a DMR or BR and a Magnum pistol and no one has shields. That means lots and lots of headshots. Now, eight is not at all a lot so you probably will not even have to go to such extreme measures to secure these kills.

Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 4/2/13

The Challenges:

Blastin' and Relaxin' - Kill 180 enemies in any game mode in Reach. - 2343cR
Well, it will probably be very common for me this week to say "Do not worry about this challenge," whenever I am referring to the initial challenge of the day. Due to the Weekly challenge, you will be playing a ton of Firefight Matchmaking games today. Now, you will also bring in kills from the other challenges, just not that much. "Linked Up with Bungie.net" will bring in nothing while the "Five-time Champ" challenge will bring in around fifty to sixty kills depending on what playlist you play it in. The "Demon" challenge will likely get you nothing as it will be done while working on the Weekly.

Demon - Kill 50 Elites in Firefight Matchmaking. - 3000cR
Elites are the hardest enemies to kill in Firefight Matchmaking. Remember that you have the Weekly Challenge asking you to play a hundred rounds of Firefight this week. Do what you can of that today and it should cover these Elite kills for you. If not, aim for 2X Score Attack since the final wave will always be twenty or so Elites. Do your best to make sure that none of them kill themselves and you will have this done in two easy games. This is the only Firefight Matchmaking challenge today, so do not expect help from any of the other challenges. Have fun with this one, it might take a while.

The Challenges:

Spray and Pray - Get 50 kills with an Automatic Loadout Weapon. - 800 XP
Still really low on the XP rewards for these challenges.  That definitely needs to change. Automatic Loadout Weapons in Halo 4 include the AR (Automatic Rifle), the Storm Rifle, and the Suppressor. The Needler and the Chain Gun do not count for these challenges as you cannot equip them in loadouts. These fifty kills, luckily, do not need to be in a single game and can be earned over the entire day. Whichever weapon you choose will depend on several things, the first of which being what weapons you have unlocked, the next being the type of combat you prefer. The Storm Rifle has the tightest spread but is the weakest while the Suppressor is the most powerful but is the most inaccurate. The AR sits in the middle being the best compromise to both weapons with a decently concentrated spread and good power behind it. I would stick to objective gametypes as they will allow you to get in close quarters and score these kills. Expect this challenge to take a four or five games to complete.

Halo Reach Daily and Weekly Challenges Guide - 4/1/13

The Challenges:
Shootin' and Lootin' - Kill 250 enemies in any game mode in Reach - 3800cR
Well, most likely these two-hundred and fifty kills will get taken care of by the other challenges today. The "Explosive Ordnance Distribution" will get you about twenty or so kills, maybe thirty, depending on how many games it takes you to complete. The "Iron Will" challenge will likely not many kills, maybe ten to fifteen at most. Finally, the "Survivor" challenge will net you a hundred and twenty kills but it will also be part of the Weekly Challenge, which is liable to bring in about three hundred to four hundred kills. So, work on the Weekly Challenge and this one is taken care of.

Explosive Ordnance Distribution - Earn 5 kills with ordnance weapons in a multiplayer Matchmaking game. - 1250cR
Explosive Ordnance Weapons in Reach include the Rocket Launcher, Grenade Launcher, the Concussion Rifle, and the Plasma Launcher. These weapons are not easy to find anymore since the Action Sack playlist was taken down. Now, your best chance is the third phase of the Invasion gametype in which you will have access to either the Concussion Rifle or the Grenade Launcher. You will have two chances at this if the game is pretty even and you only need five kills in a single game. I would expect this challenge to take multiple tried and you might want to attempt Invasion Slayer as well.

Halo 4 Campaign Weekly Challenges - 4/1/13

The Challenges:

Let's Get Mythical! - Complete any Campaign Mission on Heroic or higher difficulty with the Mythic skull. - 24000 XP
Well, at least we have gotten a change up today in terms of challenges. Let's see how long it actually lasts for before we celebrate, however. Anyway, the Mythic Skull causes all enemies to have double health in the level. This will be especially bothersome for enemies like Hunters or Watchers as they cannot be shot in the head for an easy kill. As usual, the best mission for this challenge is "Dawn" as it is the shortest, easiest, and also used for the below challenge (though that will put you on Legendary difficulty as well, so the choice is up to you). You can even skip some fights if you have a teammate, though this mission is still easy on Solo. Your biggest problem on Dawn will be the Elites, but just take your time and go for headshots and all will be fine.

Halo 4 War Games Monthly Challenge - 4/1/13

The Monthly Challenge:

Spartan Takedown - Kill 5000 Players. - 32000 XP
My eyes must be tricking me. Really? A Monthly Challenge that does not involve getting wins? Is this an April Fool's joke? I sure hope not because it is actually a welcome sight. Now, five-thousand kills in a single month means that you will need to score about a hundred and seventy a day. That is a lot of multiplayer kills, to be honest, and will require a lot of work. You will want to head mostly to objective gametypes as they will allow you to score the most kills. This means gametypes like Grifball, in which you can get thirty to forty kills a game, and gametypes like Dominion. As long as they are not tied down to kill counts, as no objective games are, it will probably work well for our needs. Now, if you can, I would suggest spreading these kills out over the day. Sitting down and trying to score almost two hundred kills at once can be trying. Now, I would suggest trying to get as many kills as you can as early on as you can. This way, you will have some wiggle room in the later parts of the month if you cannot play for a few days and you may even finish the challenge early. Just remember that this challenge will require a lot of dedication.

The Challenges:

Game Over, Man! - Complete 1 matchmaking War Games matches. - 19 XP
Well, it is good to see that the people at 343i know that it is April Fool's Day. I have not done these yet, but I will actually be disappointed if they give this little experience points. Well, if you look just below this challenge, you will see another challenge asking you to score two wins in War Games matches today. To score a win you will need to play a game and that, by default, takes care of this challenge. Join-session-in-progress games seem to count for this challenge as long as you are in the game when it ends and the final score is tallied. Just complete a single games in this manner and you are all set. Not much more to say for this challenge.

To The Victor Go The Spoils - Win 2 matchmaking War Games matches. - 38 XP
Nineteen points a win. Whooo! Anyway, this is actually a Daily Challenge variant of a challenge that we typically see as a Monthly Challenge. It is good to see a more general "wins" challenge however. To get wins you need to follow some pretty simple rules. First off, stay away from any playlist that features more than two teams. The lower the number of teams, the higher your chances of being on the winning one. Secondly, stick to gametypes that you know and are good at. Exploring different game modes can be fun, but it you are going for wins, it is a bad idea. Finally, play with teammates that you know and play well with. Communication and knowing your team is key to scoring wins quickly. It makes life so much easier.
