Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 5/9/12

The Challenges:
Fire When Ready - Kill 50 enemies in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 3000cR
Fifty kills should be pretty easy for any player to hit in a single day but how long it will take will depend on the gametypes you like to play. The easiest gametype in which to farm kills, as I will tell you below, is Grifball. You can easily get twenty to thirty kills per game in that playlist as long as people are not spawn camping and the teams are evenly matched. In other playlists, you should be hitting about ten to fifteen kills which means that this challenge will take four to five games to complete, maybe more, maybe less. It all depends on how well you player, but you likely do not need to play particularly well.

Katanarama - Kill 1 enemies using the Energy Sword in Firefight Matchmaking. - 1000cR
There are a few options for this challenge now that Firefight Matchmaking has been changed around again. The first option is playing regular Score Attack in the Score Attack playlist. At the end you will face about six Elite Generals. Typically, one of them will have a sword and he will come for you. Kills him, take his sword, and then kill one of the other Elites with the sword, and challenge completed. Another option is 2X Score Attack where, typically, one of the twenty-five Elites in the final wave will have a sword so you can repeat the strategy there. Finally, Arcade Attack in the Firefight playlist will have a Sword as one of the loadout options. While that definitely seems like the easier path, you need to complete the entire game for it to count so it will likely take longer to complete.

It was the Winter... - Complete Winter Contingency on Legendary without dying. - 3000cR

Many people will look at this challenge and dread it, but there is no need. First off, you can die as much as you want. There is a bug that allow you to play through to the final objective, dying as much as you want, and then just Save and Quit the game, Resume Campaign, complete the final objective without dying, and complete the challenge. You can do this for every single challenge like this. Now, Winter Contingency is the one of the easiest levels in the game, only Nightfall is easier. See this LASO guide for ways to skips through encounters and strategies for other parts.

T-Hug It Out - Kill 6 enemies with close quarters combat in a multiplayer Matchmaking game. - 2400cR
A close quarters combat kills is a kills in close range via the Gravity Hammer, Energy Sword, Shotgun, Melee, or Assassination. There is one gametype that allows you to get almost all of these kills short of the Shotgun. As you probably expect, this gametype is Grifball. You should be hitting about twenty to thirty kills per game in this playlist, so six kills will not really be an issue. This will also be a good place to farm kills for the "Fire When Ready" challenge. Now, six kills is not a lot and this can also be done in any gametype as long as the map is small, this is simply the easiest way.
