Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 11/24/11

The Challenges:
Covenant-cide - Kill 120 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking. - 3200cR
Exceedingly easy challenges today and all can be completed in a single game of Firefight Matchmaking. I will advise you to play Gruntpocalypse in the Score Attack playlist since you are aiming for a hundred headshots and Grunts are the easiest Covies to score headshot kills on. A hundred and twenty kills is how many enemies you will typically face in a game of Gruntpocalypse. Go for a large map since once the Grunts get close they will start throwing grenades and will likely kill themselves, taking kills away from you.

Scoped - Kill 100 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking with precision weapons. - 2000cR
This and the "Hyper Lethal Vector" challenge go hand in hand. There is no need for me to write everything out twice, and for you to have to read it twice, so look at "Hyper Lethal Vector" for the challenge info, tips, and strategy for completion.

Hyper Lethal Vector - Kill 100 enemies with headshots in Firefight Matchmaking. - 2000cR
The best gametype for this challenge is Gruntpocalypse. First off, the gametype start you off with a precision weapon capable of scoring headshots (the Designated Marksman Rifle). Secondly, Grunts are the easiest Covenant enemies to headshot, by a wide margin. The only thing you need to worry about in Gruntpocalypse is the Grunts killing themselves before you have a chance to headshot them. Remember to keep your distance and you should be fine. As well, the Ultra Grunts will require and extra headshot to knock off their helmet. After that it is another shot to score the kill.

Survivor - Earn 7 Sprees in a Firefight Matchmaking game. - 2000cR
Unfortunately, to complete this challenge, you will need to die once, after getting one or two sprees. In Firefight Matchmaking, you get a spree every ten kills until you get to fifty. After that, you get another spree and a hundred kills and then at five hundred kills. You will be unable to get five hundred kills in any Firefight Matchmaking game, therefore you will need to die to start over the count. It is safest to die after you get two spree and then get the other five. You can also die after a single spree and then go for the six sprees by getting a hundred kills. Either way, the choice lies with you.

  1. Good read. I read the original article on Examiner but the stupid system wouldnt let me comment on there.

I've always tried to get into Halo but I have found that the learning curve is way too steep. It seems like it takes me 100+ shots to kill someone when it takes everyone else 2.

Anyway you should check out my stuff on the Examiner and let me know what you think, my email is shola.adedeji@yahoo.com. It feels to me that our mother-site doesnt give gamers enough attention and I'm trying to collaborate with other gaming journalists from there to think of ways we can get our work out more.
