The Challenges:
Deadeye - Kill 75 Players with a headshot. - 1500 XP
To score a headshot in War Games, you will need a headshot capable weapon. In Halo 4, these include the DMR (Designated Marksman Rifle), the BR (Battle Rifle), the Magnum Pistol, the Sniper Rifle, the Covenant Carbine, the Beam Rifle, the Light Rifle, and the Binary Cannon. Now, usually when we see this challenge, it is asking for twelve or so kills so they have upped the ante a lot today. Complete "Drilled" first as you are likely to score some headshots there since it asks you to use precision loadout weapons. The easiest way to score these headshots will be in a gametype like SWAT where almost all of the kills are headshots. Just play normally while you amass these headshots. It should not take more than five or six games.
Take The Hill! - Win 2 matchmaking King of the Hill matches. - 2000 XP
Well, two wins is not too bad if you have a good team, at least. King of the Hill is a gametype in which you need to hold a position which moves around the map. The first team to reach, I believe, a hundred and fifty seconds wins the game. KoTH in Halo 4 is actually a lot easier since they will tell you where the next hill will be when there are about five seconds left on the old hill. That way, you can make headway on the hill while the other team is trying to squeeze a few seconds out of the old hill. If you have a group of at least three players, you can easily run this playlist for wins. Again it all comes down to communication. The bigger issue here is what playlist you will need to be in. There is no King of the Hill playlist anymore so you will need to head to Team Objective to get some games. This many take up to four games to finish off.
The Weekly Challenges:
Got Backup - Get 100 kills with a Secondary Weapon. - 3500 XP
It has been a while since we have had this challenges for a Weekly, though not much at all has changed in the methods for completing it. Secondary weapons in Halo 4 include the Magnum Pistol, the Plasma Pistol, and the Boltshot. You will need to actively try for kills with these weapons as they will not come to you as easily as they would with the DMR or the BR or such. I would avoid the Plasma Pistol as it will probably just get you killed so stick to the Magnum Pistol or the Boltshot if you are on a smaller map. Team SWAT is one of the best playlists for the Magnum Pistol if you get a map like Adrift or Haven. Since you need a hundred kills, aim for about fifteen a day every day this week.
Rolling Thunder - Earn 50 Killing Spree medals. - 5000 XP
A Killing Spree in War Games is earned when you score five kills in a row. As this challenge stipulates "Killing Spree medals" other sprees such as weapon and miscellaneous sprees will not count. Fifty in a single week seems to be the highest amount we have ever been asked for that I can remember, so buckle up. You will need at least eight a day this week to complete this challenge (only seven leaves you at forty-nine sprees) and that number will be hard to reach. First off, Dominion has been the best gametype for me in terms of getting sprees, especially on Vortex where you can get in a Wraith and just sit back and defend your base while attacking the middle base. I would expect to get two or so sprees per game so this one is pretty much taken care of four or five games. Flood and Regicide can also be good playlists for Sprees as well as Big Team Infinity Slayer if you get lucky and end up with a tank.
