Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 3/18/12

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any ideas or comments about the challenges? Post them down below!

The Challenges:
Shootin' and Lootin' - Kill 100 enemies in any game mode in Reach. - 2000cR
This challenge should be finished off by the other challenges today and you should not even worry about it. "The Little Guys" challenge is requiring you to hit seventy-five Grunt kills in Campaign but that will also let you score a bunch of other kills that are not Grunts as well. Scoring the seventy-five grunt kills may very well take care of the challenge for you but then you also need to play at least a partial game of Firefight and score some wins in multiplayer. Getting kills should be the easiest thing you do today.

Un, Deux, Trois - Win 3 games in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 2900cR

This is really just an appetizer and a reminder of the fifty games you needed to win this week. If you already complete the Weekly Challenge, which this is the last day to do so, you just need to go into multiplayer and win three games. If you still are working on the Weekly Challenge, you need to finish up today. See the post on the Weekly Challenge for tips on scoring wins but remember to relax and play to have fun. Playing just to win hardly ever works.

A Simple Spree - Earn any spree in Firefight Matchmaking. - 2000cR
A spree in Firefight Matchmaking is ten kills uninterrupted by death and you should have no problem accomplishing this "feat" in a single game. I would recommend that you play Crashsite as this is the only reason for playing Firefight today. You can, however, play a full game of Firefight to help with the "Shootin' and Lootin'" challenge, but that is unnecessary due to the other challenges today.

The Little Guys - Kill 75 Grunts in Campaign today on Normal or harder. - 1000cR
For this challenge, I would just start on Winter Contingency and play through the level until you hit the required seventy-five Grunt kills. This might take you just into ONI: Swordbase, but not too long into it. Now remember, you do not need to actually score that kills if you are playing solo. Basically, just put all the fire you can on all possible targets. If an AI teammate score the kill, you will get for it as long as you dealt it some damage. This makes things a lot easier and makes this challenge go a lot faster.

Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 3/17/12

The Challenges:
Covenant-cide - Kill 120 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking. - 3200cR
You will hopefully complete this challenge while working on the "Weapon Swap" challenge as you will need to play a single game in the Score Attack playlist for that challenge, which will usually give you about a hundred and twenty kills. There is a decently high chance that you will fall a couple kills short but this challenge does not require you to score this many kills in a single game. Just play a second game, Crashsite if you can, to finish off the challenge and get to the multiplayer portion of today's challenges.

You Want This, Don't You? - Earn 14 kills with precision weapons in a multiplayer Matchmaking game. - 2000cR

This challenge will require you to play a game in either the Team Snipers or Team SWAT playlists. Both playlists start you with precision weapons (The Sniper and DMR, respectively) and those are really the only weapons you can use besides the pistol. Fourteen kills is doable in a single slayer game, but will be challenging. These playlists, on rare occassion, have objective gametypes pop up. I would pick those in a heartbeat as they would allow you to get a bunch of kills in a single game, which is perfect for this challenge.

Weapon Swap - Earn 10 sprees in a Firefight Matchmaking game on Heroic or harder. - 2000cR
According to recent reports, weapon and assist sprees now count towards the completion of this challenge which makes everything a lot easier. You do not even need to die to get all these sprees which is likely a welcome relief. You will receive Killing Sprees every ten kills and weapon sprees every five kills. If you only stick to a single weapon like the Sniper, you will get to only nine sprees before the end of the game. You will need to get a Spartan Laser, Shotgun, Energy Sword, Sticky Grenade, or splatter enemies with a vehicle to get that last spree. If you do not have access to any of those, just die and then restart you sprees to complete the challenge. I would recommend Sniper Attack in the Score Attack playlist for this challenge.

Put Your Quarter Up - Complete 12 games in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 3200cR
Twelve games is definitely a hand full for a single day. Luckily, you will be going for wins today for the Weekly Challenge, which will likely take care of some of these games for you. Just try to play in playlists that you enjoy, as the day moves along. I would not try to hit all of these in a single sitting as that is an absurd amount of games to play all at once. Take breaks and try to play with friends to make the games go faster.

Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 3/16/12

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any ideas or comments about the challenges? Post them down below!

The Challenges:
Fire When Ready - Kill 30 enemies in multiplayer Matchmaking - 1100cR
This challenge will be pretty much taken care of by the other challenges today, mainly "The Magic Number" challenge which calls for you to complete seven games. As long as you average at least five kills a game you will have this challenge complete, though you should average well over double that per game. This challenge should be done well before you hit seven games so there is no real reason to worry.

Now I have a Machine Gun - Earn 20 kills with automatic weapons in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 1000cR

Over all your games today, you need to hit twenty kills with automatic weapons, which inclue the AR, Needler, Plasma Rifle, and the Plasma Repeater. Multi Team is typically my go to playlist for this challenge since, with some much damage being dealt all around, it is extremely easy to snag kills with an automatic weapon as that is practically what you always start with. Head to the high traffic areas of maps and you should be able to snag plenty of kills for this challenge.

Killing Spree - Earn a Killing Spree in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 2000cR
A Killing Spree in multiplayer Matchmaking is five kills uninterrupted by the end of the round or by a death. This is generally easy to do in certain playlists like Living Dead, Team Objective, or Invasion. Try for Living Dead as this is the easiest playlist of the three in which to get sprees as long as you are a survivor and not a Zombie. However, this can be done in practically any playlist as long as you are careful and have teammates who will cover your back.

The Magic Number - Complete 7 games in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 3000cR
You will be going out of your way for this challenge as the other challenges today will not take care of it for you. Once the other challenges are out of the way, besides the "Fire When Ready" challenge, I would move on to playlists in which the games are faster, like Team SWAT or Grifball. For SWAT, stick to small maps as that will help speed the games along even more. For Grifball, if you play it, sometimes the games go fast, but other times they can take a very long so that one is more iffy.

Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 3/15/12

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any ideas or comments about the challenges? Post them down below!

The Challenges:
Covenant-cide - Kill 120 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking. - 3200cR
You will likely be playing two or three games in Firefight Matchmaking today, which includes one game in the Score Attack playlists. A typical game of Score Attack will get you a hundred and twenty kills which is just what you need for this challenge. Even if you fall short, the other challenges will take up the slack. So just ignore this simple challenge, as it is already well taken care of.

J.H. Death Machine - Kill 70 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking with the Grenade Launcher. - 1250cR

If you play a game of 2X Score Attack in the Score Attack playlist, one of your loadout options will be the grenade launcher. In 2X Score Attack, all damage is doubled so it should be even easier to score kills with this, sometimes, troublesome weapon. Aim for clusters of enemies an remember that you can bounce the round into them. Now, you only need seventy kills, which is less than you will typically get in a game of 2X Score Attack so no worries here.

Flat Tire - Kill 10 enemy vehicles in Firefight Matchmaking. - 2343cR
This challenge will be the hardest one of the day, but it is a lot easier than it used to be. Playing in the Score Attack playlist, as long as the map is a large, exterior map, you will hopefully see vehicles dropped in fairly often. Beachhead is probably the best map to score vehicle kills in since you see a vehicle dropped in almost every round. Do expect this challenge to take multiple games however. There is no guarantee of getting certain maps or the gametypes that make it easy to kill vehicles (i.e. Rockets, Snipers, or FRG). Expect to play at least two to three games, if not more.

Bulletproof - Complete 3 Rounds in a Firefight Matchmaking game without dying. - 1250cR
Unfortunately, this all needs to be done in a single game, though it would be much easier if spread over the entire day. Hopefully, you can get it done while working on the "Flat Tire" challenge. You need to play Firefight Arcade for this challenge since all other playlists for Firefight are now just one round. Surviving three rounds is often quite difficult but if you teammates are playing and you can find a good hiding spot, you should be set. Do not idle, however, cause and enemy will always find a way to kill you if you idle. Might take you two attempts to get this done.

Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 3/14/12

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any ideas or comments about the challenges? Post them down below!

The Challenges:
More than a Handful - Kill 25 enemies in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 2000cR
I am encouraging you to play a game of Grifball for "The Dream Shake" challenge and this should do very well in getting you towards those twenty-five required kills. A second game may be necessary but these twenty-five kills do not need to be in a single game. You can also have success with this challenge in Multi Team, Team Objective, Invasion, and Big Team Battle. You really should get this in one or two games.

Survivor - Earn 5 Sprees in a Firefight Matchmaking game. - 2000cR

This challenge will require you to play a single game of Firefight Matchmaking. In Firefight, you are rewarded a spree every ten kills, up to fifty kills. Clearly, that is just perfect for this challenge. You do not have to die or do anything crazy. Just get fifty kills in a row and you are set for this challenge. You can play either Gruntpocalypse, 2X Score Attack , or even Crashsite, which will allow you to end the game by dying or letting the generator explode once you hit fifty kills.

Pod Kettle Black - Kill 15 Elite Drop Pods in The Long Night of Solace. - 2343cR
This is a fairly easy challenge but can only be done in a single place in the Campaign. You will need to load up the level "Long Night of Solace" on whatever difficulty you please, but start from Rally Point Alpha. This will start you flying the Sabre. Now, you need to get to the second phase of your space combat. One you are attacking the Corvette, Fly down below it and you will see Drop Pods fall from the center. These are what you need to destroy. The only come out every thirty or so seconds four at a time and they move very fast, but you should have no trouble scoring the kills.

The Dream Shake - Earn 4 Double Kills in the same match in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 4000cR
For me, the best way to accomplish this challenge is in the Grifball playlist. You will need four Double Kills, which are sets of two kills made within four seconds of each other, and those come very often in Grifball. In fact, multikills in general are very common and you will need to make sure that you are pausing between the multikills to ensure that they are Double Kills instead of Triple Kills or higher. This challenge is also doable in the Multi Team playlist and in the Living Dead playlist.

Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 3/13/12

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any ideas or comments about the challenges? Post them down below!

The Challenges:
Light Fare - Kill 100 enemies in any game mode in Reach. - 3000cR
This challenge should be very easily handled by the "A Simple Spree" challenge which is asking you to score a single spree in Firefight Matchmaking., A typical game of Firefight Matchmaking will get you about a hundred and twenty kills. This means that it will more than take care of this challenge for you. Even if you happen to run out of lives and miss a hundred kills, you still have the "Triple Thrill" challenge that will cover the spread for you. Good luck.

A Simple Spree - Earn any spree in Firefight Matchmaking. - 2000cR

A spree in Firefight Matchmaking is ten kills uninterrupted by death or the end of the game. I will encourage you to complete and entire game of Firefight Matchmaking in the Score Attack playlist as this will complete the "Light Fare" challenge for you. You really should have no trouble getting the spree as you will, almost always, face squads of Grunts first in Firefight. This will allow you tons of easy kills and a very easy spree. Just finish playing through for the other challenge.

Inclement Weather - Complete a Campaign mission on Heroic or harder with the Thunderstorm Skull on. - 3000cR
The easiest way to beat this challenge, as usual, is to do a speedrun of Nightfall on Heroic with the Thunderstorm skull on. The level can be run with relative ease and it will take about seven to ten minutes to complete. A guide to run through the level can be seen right here along with a video here. Now, this might take you a couple tries, but it is very easy and you are allowed to die for this challenge so do not be worried if you do.

Triple Thrill - Earn any 3 Sprees in a multiplayer Matchmaking game. - 2000cR
This will be the hardest challenge of the day as getting sprees in multiplayer is never really an easy task. However, this challenge does not specify that you need to get Killing Sprees, though you very well may need to. I would stick to the Living Dead playlist for this challenge. Basically, if you are a survivor, you will not have much trouble getting kills. Once you hit five kills in a single round as a survivor, you will get a Killing Spree and a Zombie Killing Spree. If that counts as two kills then all sprees count and you only need on more spree of any type. If that only counts as one spree, then you will need to score two more Killing Sprees to complete the challenge.

Halo Reach Daily and Weekly Challenges Guide - 3/12/12

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any ideas or comments about the challenges? Post them down below!

The Challenges:
More than a Handful - Kill 25 enemies in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 2000cR
You will be playing, if you stick to my plan, at least seven games today for the Weekly Challenge. In these, at least, seven games that you play today if you are unable to score a total of twenty-five kills, you are likely doing something wrong. This should actually only take you about two to three games to complete as you should be hitting ten or twelve kills per games. Try some Grifball if this is really becoming an issue.

Flat Tire - Kill 10 enemy vehicles in Firefight Matchmaking. - 2343cR

Finally, since the last matchmaking update, drop-ships have returned to Firefight Arcade. You will likely need to play two or three games to complete this challenge, but at least you do not have to play Holdout. Beachhead is really the best map for this challenge as it is a wide open map and Wraiths and Banshees get dropped frequently. I would also try for Sniper Attack on this map as that will make it easiest to score these vehicle kills. The only downfall of Firefight Arcade is that you need to compete with three other players. It sucks, but it is still probably easier than playing Holdout.

A Solid Outing - Earn at least 12 kills in a multiplayer Matchmaking game. - 1300cR
In all honesty, as I stated above for the "More Than a Handful" challenge, you should be hitting about ten to twelve kills per game regardless. This challenge should be a freebie by most accounts. I would recommend playing a game of Grifball to finish off this challenge if you are having troubles scoring enough kills in other gametypes. Multi Team is also a great option but wins are harder to come by.

A Satisfied Thirst - Kill 100 Grunts in Firefight Matchmaking. - 1500cR
If you do not complete this challenge while working on the "Flat Tire" challenge, then your best option for completion is to play a game of Gruntpocalypse in the Score Attack playlist. Gruntpocalypse is all Grunts, all the time, and nothing else which means that scoring Grunt kills is quite easy. A typical game will get you about a hundred and twenty kills so, regardless, you will be well over the a hundred kill threshold required for this challenge.

The Weekly Challenge:
Clear Eyes, Full Hearts - Win 50 games in multiplayer Matchmaking this week. - 30343cR
I really do hate these challenges that require you to score a bunch of wins a day. It should have, if anything, been "Complete fifty games" but we never have that luck. Well, anyway, you need to hit fifty wins in multiplayer Matchmaking this week and to do so you will need to hit about seven plus wins a day. This means that, if you have terrible luck, you could be playing over fourteen games a day to score these wins. Hopefully, you will not be stuck playing that many games.

Here are some hints to secure wins. First off, play in playlists that you enjoy and normally have success in. Now would not be a great time to find a new playlist that really annoys you. Secondly, play with people that you know and like. If you know your fellow players and have played with them before, you know their strengths and how to work as a team. That is always a plus in any team game. Finally, take breaks. If you get to appoint where you are not really focused or are aggravated, stop playing and do something else. Aggravates and angry play typically leads to you losing, trust me. I learned from experience.
