Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 4/18/12

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any ideas or comments about the challenges? Post them down below!

The Challenges:
Fire When Ready - Kill 50 enemies in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 3000cR
You should have no trouble completing this challenge as it should be easily completed by the "Close Talking" challenge which is asking you to get seventy-seven kills with close quarters combat. Since it will be in multiplayer Matchmaking, those seventy-seven kills will take care of the fifty needed for this challenge. Do not worry about this challenge and move on to the more difficult ones.

A Simple Spree - Earn any spree in Firefight Matchmaking. - 2000cR

A spree in Firefight Matchmaking is ten kills in a row uninterrupted by death. You can get this done in any playlist in Firefight Matchmaking but Score Attack is likely your best bet for this challenge. If you can get the Crashsite gametype from the Score Attack playlist, you can just get the spree you need and you can end the game by just dying or letting the generator explode. Otherwise, you will need to complete the entire game to get credit.

Eyes in the Sky - Kill 20 enemies with the Designator in ONI on Heroic. - 2500cR
As indicated in the challenge description, you will need to play the mission ONI: Swordbase and it is best if you start from Rally Point Bravo. Drive to the checkpoint and pick up the Target Designator from your right. Up the ramp in front of you, there will be a bunch of enemies coming down. Sight them in with the Designator and collect your kills. Afterwards, you will likely be short some kills. Reload the last checkpoint and repeat the same method to finish off the remaining kills.

Close Talking - Earn 77 kills with close quarters combat in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 1400cR
Close quarters combat kills can be earned by a player when using the Gravity Hammer, Energy Sword, Shotgun, Melee, Assassination, or Beat Down. Now easiest way to get these close quarters combat kills will be to play games in the Grifball playlist of multiplayer Matchmaking. Grifball is a playlist that is practically tailor-made for this as the only weapons available to you are the Gravity Hammer and the Energy Sword. Expect to get about twenty to thirty kills per game and have this take about three to four games.

Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 4/17/12

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any ideas or comments about the challenges? Post them down below!

The Challenges:
Shootin' and Lootin' - Kill 400 enemies in any game mode in Reach. - 4000cR
Today, there is, actually, one very interesting detail you can figure out from who selects these challenges - he is apparently a complete asshole. Lets ignore the meager credit-rewards for these inane challenges, even though that is adding to the situation. Who the hell would give someone these challenge in the same day? Fifteen wins in multiplayer and a thousand kills on a specific map in Firefight? Yeah, asshole comes to mind. Regardless, at least this challenge, asking for four-hundred kills, will be taken care of regardless.

Just Holdout - Kill 1000 enemies on Holdout in Firefight Matchmaking. - 3000cR

This is not a hard challenge, but it is simply time consuming. Since you typically get about a hundred and twenty kills in Firefight Matchmaking, that means you will need to play about nine games to complete this challenge, which should hopefully put you at a thousand and eighty, or so, kills. Go for this in the Score Attack playlist so you actually have a chance to select this map. The kills must be achieved on Holdout and if you play in the Score Attack playlist, you should have no trouble choosing that map. Gametype, just pick what looks most appealing when the three different games come up. Good luck and have patience. You will need it today.

Huck It, Luck It - Complete a Campaign mission on Heroic with Cloud, Tough Luck, and Catch on. - 2000cR
These is the really easy challenge of the day as it only requires you to complete a single campaign mission with these three skulls on. Cloud will take away your radar while Tough Luck makes enemies dodge more and Catch makes them throw grenades more. Those do not really matter as you will be doing a speed run of Nightfall to complete this challenge as quickly as possible. A link to the speedrun guide can be found right here. This should only take you ten minutes and not really interfere with the other challenges today,

Who's the Big Winner? - Win 15 games in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 3000cR
This is the pivotal challenge of the day and a real "WTF" when combined with the "Just Holdout" challenge. And this challenge does not ask you to just complete games, but to win fifteen of them. That is a very tall order for a single day. In fact, by the time you complete this challenge, you may very well be at the Daily Credit Limit, which would make it all kind of pointless. And this is worth well more than three-thousand Credits. Well, regardless, here are some tips to help you. First off, take breaks often. Do not, I repeat, do not try to sit down and win all fifteen games in one go. It just will not happen. Take breaks whenever you get frustrated. Secondly, stick to gametypes that you enjoy and are good at. Now is likely not the time to explore and end up aggravated after finding out that you really hate a certain playlist. Finally, try to play with friends or people who you know are good. This will make getting those wins a lot easier.

Halo Reach Daily and Weekly Challenges Guide - 4/16/11

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any ideas or comments about the challenges? Post them down below!

The Challenges:
Covenant-cide - Kill 120 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking. - 3200cR
A typical game of Firefight Matchmaking in the Score Attack playlist will typically allow you to get about a hundred and twenty kills. You will need to likely play more than a single game today as the "Flat Tire" challenge always requires more than a single game and then you will likely not be able to complete "J.H. Death Challenge" in the same game as the "Flat Tire" challenge. A hundred and twenty kills is the least of your worries.

Flat Tire - Kill 5 enemy vehicles in Firefight Matchmaking. - 2000cR

Hopefully, you will be able to complete this challenge in a single game but possibly not. You have two routes for this. You can either try for it in the Score Attack or in the Firefight Arcade playlists. For Score Attack, Banshees will spawn regularly on the Holdout and Installation 04 maps but you will need to be on Sniper, Rocket, or FRG Attack. Expect it to take two games with that strategy. The Firefight Arcade strategy will require you to play a game on the map Beachhead where regular vehicles drop regularly. You will have to compete for these vehicle kills though, which might make the Score Attack method more appealing.

J.H. Death Machine - Kill 70 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking with the Grenade Launcher. - 1250cR
You should be able to complete this challenge in a single game in the Score Attack playlist and you will want to pick the 2X Score Attack gametype. One of the five loadouts will feature the Grenade Launcher. In 2X Score Attack, the Grenade Launcher is exceedingly deadly due to its increased kill radius. Hitting enemies while they spawn will allow you to get some nice multikills on stationary targets. You only need to get seventy kills with the Grenade Launcher so feel free to switch to a different weapon after you have complete the challenge to speed things up.

The Magic Number - Complete 7 games in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 3000cR
For this challenge, your just need to complete games, you do not need to win any games, which is a relief. Your best challenge to complete this challenge is to find the games which are fastest to complete. I would aim for games in playlists like Team SWAT or Living Dead. Team SWAT will be fast as long as you are on a small map. Large maps will have you in for a long game. Living Dead, on the other hand, has been sped up significantly since the introduction of Alpha Zombies. Pick your poison, though I would play whatever I wish if I have the time.

The Weekly Challenge:
Your Daily Dose - Complete all of the Daily Challenges for a given day. - 20343cR
Well, this will be pretty much the easiest Weekly Challenge that you will ever need to worry about as all the other Daily Challenges you will complete today will take care of this challenge for you. The challenge asks you to complete all the Daily Challenges in a single day. That is it. All you need to do is complete all four challenges today and the challenge is yours. You can do this any day this week and complete the challenge. Just do not worry about it.

No Challenges Guide Today

I was actually up in time to write and post this but, lo and behold, my internet working.  This seems to have happened because someone in my household was having wireless troubles this morning and actually went through the Microsoft troubleshooting on his laptop.  It told him to do a hard reset of any routers in use.   He did that.  We had a mildly confusing setup which had the Verizon FiOs MI424-WR bridged to a D-Link DGL-4500 with a D-Link DIR-825 acting as a wireless access-point.  Now none of them work and I will be spending the day getting them working again.  Sorry this is slightly a rant but I just do not have the time to write the challenges today.

My apologies.

Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 4/13/12

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any ideas or comments about the challenges? Post them down below!

The Challenges:
Shootin' and Lootin' - Kill 250 enemies in any game mode in Reach. - 3800cR
The other challenges today will not complete this challenge for you, unfortunately, as they simply do not provide enough kills. You will likely still be working on the Weekly Challenge today, but that will not necessitate more games than needed for the "Credits for Completion" challenge. After completing the other Daily Challenges, you can simply play a game or two of Score Attack in Firefight Matchmaking to finish off this challenge. It should not take anymore than that.

Close Talking - Earn 40 kills with close quarters combat in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 2500cR

Now, this challenge does not stipulate that you need to get all these close quarters combat kills in a single game, but over the entire day. For those who do not know, a close quarters combat kill is a kill at close range by a Shotgun, Gravity Hammer, Energy Sword, Melee, Beat Down, or Assassination. Those, short of the shotgun, are the only ways you can kill people in Grifball making this a great playlist for this challenge. As well, you will typically get an insane number of kills in Grifball and might even hit forty in one game. Likely not, so expect this to take two games.

Better, Closer, Warmer - Earn at least 10 kills in a multiplayer Matchmaking game. - 2500cR
This challenge should be easily completed by anyone playing today. Ten kills is less than what most player should be hitting in a game, on average. You should be hitting around twelve kills a game in multiplayer Matchmaking but that will also depend on the game type and your skill in the gametype. However, I am asking you to play Grifball for the "Close Talking" challenge and that will definitely get you more than ten kills per game. Challenge completed, move on.

Credits for Completion - Complete 6 games in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 1300cR
This challenge should not give you much trouble as you will likely be working on the Weekly Challenge which is asking you to win twenty-five games this week. That is likely getting close to done thanks to challenges earlier in the week. Now, for this challenge, at least two of the games will be in Grifball for the "Close Talking" and "Better, Closer, Warmer" challenges. However, after that you can do whatever you want. I would personally keep playing Grifball as it would make the "Shootin' and Lootin'" challenge much easier to obtain. However, this is entirely up to you and remember that a smaller map normally make a shorter game.

Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 4/12/12

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any ideas or comments about the challenges? Post them down below!

The Challenges:
Light Fare - Kill 100 enemies in any game mode in Reach. - 3000cR
A lot of easy challenges today and they can almost all be done in a single game of Firefight Matchmaking. This challenge, specifically, should only take a single game to complete as most Firefight Matchmaking games in the Score Attack will give you about a hundred and twenty kills if you complete the entire round. The real question is what gametype to play, but we will look at that under the other challenges.

Hyper Lethal Vector - Kill 100 enemies with headshots in Firefight Matchmaking. - 3000cR

This challenge is also doable in a single game of Firefight Matchmaking and should not be to challenging. I would, personally, go for Gruntpocalypse as you can definitely headshot every single enemy in the game. Ultra Grunts will take two headshots but that should not be a problem for you at all. This challenge does not stipulate that all the kill need to be done in a single game so you can finish this challenge with a second game if need be.

Killagruntjaro - Earn 25 multikills in a Firefight Matchmaking game. - 3000cR
A Multikill is earned in Firefight Matchmaking when you kill two enemies within, about, a second of each other. Multikills are, generally, very common in Firefight Matchmaking but getting twenty-five of them in a single game is nearing about what most players would get in a single game, may be above that. Since you will be primarily using the DMR and Pistol, I would suggest that you wait for enemies to be funneled into an area and then go for multiple headshots to gain the multikills. This challenge does need to be complete in a single game, but is completely doable.

Be Their Huckleberry - Kill 50 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking with the pistol. - 1500cR
I am actually a little unsure on this challenge. I think that Gruntpocalypse gives you a pistol as your secondary weapon and that is one of the reasons I urged you to play Gruntpocalypse. However, I am not sure of this fact. If you play through a game of Gruntpocalypse and the secondary weapon is an AR, I apologize and will direct you towards a game of Sniper Attack were I know the secondary weapon is a pistol. Treat the pistol much like any other ranged weapon and go for head shots as often as you can. Try to use the pistol for the first half(i.e. Grunts and Jackals) of enemies as they will be easiest. Like the "Hyper Lethal Vector" challenge, this can be done over multiple games so relax if you do not complete it the first time.

Halo Reach Daily Challenges Guide - 4/11/12

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any ideas or comments about the challenges? Post them down below!

The Challenges:
Fire When Ready - Kill 50 enemies in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 3000cR
You should really have no problem completing this challenge today as you will be working on the Weekly Challenge which asks you to get twenty-five wins in multiplayer matchmaking this week. That will have you playing for games of multiplayer Matchmaking today, at least. You will also need to score twenty kills in multiplayer Matchmaking for the "Freelancing" challenge so you should have this one in the bag.

That Pink Mist - Kill 100 enemies with a Supercombine from the Needler or Needle Rifle in Firefight Matchmaking. - 2500cR

This will actually be the hardest challenge of the day. You will need to play in Firefight Arcade to get this challenge done. Basically, you will want a game like FRG Fight as it will start you with a Needler as a secondary weapon. It is easy to tell when you get a Supercombine kill as you will get a medal for it that looks like a Supercombine explosion. You will be able to start getting some Supercombine kills after the Brutes come out and, in the later rounds, once the Mythic skull is on. It is very likely that this will take multiple games to complete as getting a hundred in a game with four other players will not be easy. Expect it to take at least two games.

Legendary Friends - Complete any Campaign mission on Legendary in co-op mode. - 10000cR
I must say that I am amazed at how many credits are rewarded for this challenge as it is very easy to complete. You do not exactly need a friend to play with you as it is easier to just have an idle controller. The mission for this challenge, obviously, will be Nightfall and you will be doing a speedrun through it. A guide to speedrunning through the map can be located right here and it should take you about eight to ten minutes to complete. You can actually complete this challenge by playing with a friend, Winter Contingency is the easiest for that, but speedrunning Nightfall is the fastest option.

Freelancing - Earn at least 20 kills in a multiplayer Matchmaking game. - 3500cR
You should really have no problem hitting this while working on the Weekly Challenge if you play something like Grifball. Multi Team is a decent option, but hitting twenty kills is only likely if you get one of the objective gametypes in Multi Team. Speaking of objective gametypes, Team Objective is also a decent playlist for getting a lot of kills in a game if you spend your time getting kills instead of the objective. Most other playlists will have you likely hitting in the teens in terms of kills and will not get you this challenge.
