Halo 4 War Games Daily and Weekly Challenges - 3/4/13

Please subscribe above this and/or follow me on twitter! Have any ideas or comments about the challenges? Post them down below!

The Challenges:
To Be Precise - Get 15 kills with a Precision Loadout Weapon. - 3000 XP
Precision Loadout weapons in Halo 4 include the DMR (Designated Marksman Rifle), the BR (Battle Rifle), the Covenant Carbine, and the Light Rifle. These are all the precision weapons that you can add to a customized loadout. Sniper, Binary Cannon, and Covenant Beam Rifle do not fall into this category. Now, today, you will have to play a ton of Oddball and Capture the Flag matchmaking games to score a bunch of wins in each. It will likely not be necessary for you to jump into SWAT for this challenge since you can easily score Precision Loadout Weapon kills in these objective based playlists. Hopefully you will not need to jump into SWAT afterwards to complete this challenge. You will likely come close to this while working on the "Quick on the Trigger" challenge, so do that one first.

Quick on the Trigger - Earn 3 Combat Skill Medals in a single match. - 5000 XP
Combat skill medals, for those who do not already know of them, include the Killjoy, Headcase, From the Grave, Reload This, and Showstopper Medals. Granted, a lot of these are based off of luck, a few can be farmed, namely the Reload This and Headcase medals, which you will be best off trying for with a Precision Weapons (i.e. DMR, BR, Light Rifle, Covenant Carbine). Now, you need to score three in a single match but this is not really a difficult challenge if you are in a long match with a lot of players. Dominion would be my preferred gametype, though you can also have great success with Capture the Flag as those games typically go the entire time.

The Weekly Challenges:
Rolling Thunder - Earn 20 Killing Spree medals. - 10000 XP
A Killing Spree in War Games is earned when you score five kills in a row. As this challenge stipulates "Killing Spree medals" other sprees such as weapon and miscellaneous sprees will not count. Twenty in a single week is not at all a large task as long as you stick to objective games where it is easiest to get sprees. You will need at least three a day this week to complete this challenge but can likely score more. First off, Dominion has been the best gametype for me in terms of getting sprees, especially on Vortex where you can get in a Wraith and just sit back and defend your base while attacking the middle base. I would expect to get two or so sprees per game so this one is pretty much taken care of after a few games. Flood and Regicide can also be good playlists for Sprees as well as Big Team Infinity Slayer if you get luck and get a tank.

In Your Face - Earn 40 CQC Medals. - 20000 XP
There are three Close Quarters Combat medals in Halo 4 and they are the Melee, Beat Down, and Bulltrue medals. Remember that, for the Beat Down medal, when behind an enemy, just tap melee instead of holding it to perform a Beat Down. To get these, you will typically want to be on a smaller map in an objective oriented game as it will allow you to get as many medals as possible. Oddball is typically good for close quarters combat on the smaller maps, especially if you have the ball or can use the ball-carrier to draw people in close range. As well, standard slayer games will work well too, just not as many medals per game. I would expect to get about six or seven of these per game when actually trying, though you will not see the Bull True that often. Forty should not actually take all that long and you can likely have it done in a day or two if you actually try for it.
